You have made a very nice design. Looks clean and efficient.
One question; How is the coil wound?
When you said all wrapped together, Did you mean to start with the ends of the 75 and 200 foot wires and wrap them around the core together until each of them ends without twisting them?
Or did you mean something else? Sorry to be dense.
Paul-- Thanks. I have been following your Tesla coil project. I still don't have mine built but I did find a little 12 volt neon sign driver that I think will work for what I want to do. It came out of a neon tube licence frame for a car. They sell them on Ebay but I found one at a discount store for a really cheap price. It only draw about 1/2 an amp at 12 volts. Puts out a 3/4" HV arc right out of the box.
You inspire me. The world needs people like you. You and I make these nice interesting motors and inspire others. Better hobby then TV watching I would say! I never REALLY wanted to learn about electronics until I learned about radiant energy.... Some times I dream and it feels like I found a long lost friend who was always there, all I needed to do was open my eyes. I'm taking a physics class next semester and its going to take all patience I have to not teach the teacher a few things ;-)
Xenomorph---Thanks. I am going to work more with what you and Comwarrior are doing. There is a connection between all these projects and we connecting the dots--one by one.
Awesome Lidmotor! The ball bearing on the curved glass is an excellent contact point solution. I assume that the top will always migrate back and forth as it runs. Plus the fact that glass is a liquid and not a solid, I assume that there will be no wear, rather, the ball bearing will "smear" the glass like butter, and it should last a long long time. Please let us know from time to time how it is running in the window. It also looks very classy.
Thanks--The top will spin in a steady position if I tip the platform a little. It then looks like someone stuck it there with crazy glue. It is probably better to let it roam around a bit. It has a better visual effect. I'm using a teflon based lubricant on it. I'm glad that I don't have a cat. There could be some real trouble.
Very Very nice. You might want to note that it is not the battery changing resistance that causes the LED to go out when charged but the voltage differentia/dropl between the LED, the battery and the solar cell. When charged, there is not enough voltage difference between Colar cell and battery in the circuit to run the led! Very simple, very nice!
TheIronStark--- We may have waited too long to get going on this stuff. Oil has us by the throat and it is a bad bad additiction. When it runs out most of us will be in the dark. I won't.
fdoca---Thanks for the support. Very little of what I do is original. What I have done is put the pieces together. We need people who can quickly put exsisting pieces together and slow down the oil consumption. Technology will catch up eventually but that may take too long.

Hi Lidmotor.I'm late again. But a big thumbs up on your build ! Keep them coming and Thanks for sharing.Tec

Why did I not see this before! That is outstanding.
Thanks once more,

the centre of the bifilar coil is air or metalic ...?

As I said before...beautiful project.

@kafr8413 ------Yes that is right. The wires are not twisted. Just wrap them up together on the spool. It is a simple bifilar coil. Nothing fancy.

wow, is that a new invention? lol

This is really quite elegant in it's design. It reminds me of tesla's spinning egg machine.
Great Job!

mrBrOOk5---Thanks. I am familar with Tesla's egg machine. This is kinda like it but works differently.

Great work. Like the use of everyday parts. Repurposing is neat.

Very nice - I am really enjoying your videos. This idea alone looks like a great "kids science toy kit" if you could package it up...
Thank you for putting your circuit diagrams up too. It is hard to figure out which transistors/resistors to use when I don't have the exact ones...

geminitric----Yes this would make a great "kit" for a science course. Lots of cool stuff going on there that would make learning fun.

Lid,
Vietarc said is right,
May be U can pursue this position,
You can light up the world !!
Talk to the secretary of the energy Mr: Chu? i think that is his name.
Then U,S never have any oil issue no more !!!!
