i just got a 2011 yamaha phazer rtx they told me not to open it right up they said stay below 8000 rpm's for the first 100 miles then from there to three hundred miles stay below 10,000 rpm's does anyone think i will be fine with opening it up after a hundred miles?

DONT, this is a 4 stroke engine, take good care of it. It needs plenty of breaking into before you can open it... but take care of it and these engines will last 20 000 miles + with only minor maintenance..... we have 10 of them in our fleet so trust me... keep the revs ow for the first 300 miles.... be patien, son.
