If you've read the novel...this movie was a massive disappointment. The original novel by Noel Streatfield is one of my favourite novels from childhood and this movie was not a good thing for the story. I do recognise the difference between movies and books, I do like Emma Watson but everyone should find a copy of the book (on websites such as better world books) and read it, if they truly want to enjoy the story.

The story around the girls was very nice and Emma Watson is a total knock out in this film. Now the shitty part is this, why call it ballet shoes when the poor little ballet dancer hardly gets a line or much of a plot unlike "AND i". Yes, we all know that, but they (except for Emma) had acted before there was any Harry Potter and as for Emma, everyone is like "oh, it's Hermione in this film". Gosh...why can't you just look at them as individual actors and focus on the roles they have in this film? No wonder the Harry Potter actors don't like being associated with the saga very much.

He was young david copperfield but the rest were getting minor roles barely noticable (i am obviously not tallking about Michael Gambon, Ralph Fiennes, Brendan Gleeson, Richard Harris, Robbie Coltrane, Maggie Smith (who was with Dan in David Copperfield), and Alan Rickman)

Wow...Emma Watson's acting was so bad in this... so, so bad. I've got nothing against her as a person, but seriously, acting is not her calling. Not a single line of hers was executed in a way that makes her believable as a human. You can tell she's using the sort of tricks she was taught to use as a child actor in a multi-billion dollar franchise of movies that are supposed to pass as emotion or acting, but they don't even work in H.P.
