Thank you again, Michael. My grandfather and father climbed this many times so when I took my son to HK I was glad that he climbed to the top, too. We found the entrance to the mine where SOE hid munitions before Japanese invasion (later used by Chinese guerillas, which I think was the idea)
@paklaanfa Thanks for the reminiscences. After sixty years I forgot completely whether we ever reached that munition depot. May be we were not aware that it was there.
Hello,in my time the Tai Mo Shan was undiscovered territory, hardly ever visited. I do not remember that we met any foreigner on our trip. As to Tuen Mum, no, I did not really visit it, but I must have driven past it a number of times on touring the NT.
Many years ago, I took a trip back to HK from Canada and on my itinerary was a hike up Tai Mo Shan. I started at the bottom near the village but got lost and was soon surrounded by a pack of vicious village dogs. I am glad to see that you had made it to the summit !!!
Have you got any videos on sheung shui or hang tau village? And the videos are really great

Well, that we made it to the summit was partly due to the company I had of Belgian colleagues. I wonder whether I would have made it alone!
