@zzzzzushi That is studio legend Lee Sklar who's work and studio credits speak for themselves and then some. Lee came in and did a fantastic job of covering for Mike P and in many respects Lee is a better bass player that Mike P. Lee was born in the groove and he is so very fluid and smooth.

I'll bet that when Jeff Porcaro came up with the "Rosanna Shuffle" he had no idea he was writing himself into drumming history. I am a drummer and I could listen to it forever. It never gets tiring! Jeff Porcaro forever for sure. I must add, however Simon Phillips is my favorite all time drummer.
Simon Phillips is one of the best no doubt. For some reason, without Jeff Porcaro, it lacks the beautiful groove that he provided for this tune. I saw Simon Phillips with The Who in '89 and he was great. But The Who sound different w/o Moon. Eventhough Simon could've blown Keith off the stage, Keith still had that certain "something" that made The Who so special. - JMO
That's Leland Sklar and that man's resume as a bassist stretchs the length of the Washington Monument. He has literally worked with everybody. Go to Wikipedia and look him up. A well respected and talented musician.
While I was in Japan this song played in the background while I attended a business lunch. We participated in the ancient Japanese ritual of "bukakke" where the aim of the game is to get a splat on her face or for extra points - aim for the martini glass ! "Meet you ALL the way - ROSAAANA" we all sang as we took shots at her face. Some guy hit the jackpot and got it in the martini glass too - I can still see her face shine through the martini glass on the other side - Rosanna!!
Pretty crappy version of Rosanna - Sorry but this song isn't meant for Simon Phillips and Lee Sklar. But then again 90% of the audience doesn't give a hoot. They are there for a good time...
this band's style wouldnt be suited by a female vocalist and male vocalists usually have stronger voice than female vocalists not talking bout christina aguilera or some one like that
Nonsense. There are plenty of powerful female vocalists. There's a video from 1982 up here where 26 years ago they couldn't even perform the vocals well (the high notes), live. So 26 years later it should come as no surprise that there's little improvement. They worked so hard on the records to get the vocals bang-on, that when they perform live and don't nail it, it's a HUGE disappointment.
I got chill bumps when they came in with the band at the end of the first verse/chorus. I was like OH YEAH! Much nicer version than their trainwreck stuffy "try to redo the studio version" version in Japan. The mix here sounds nice and the beginning was cool.
good quality
