Its college, not high school... People can go to college at any age, not limited to those between the age of 18 - 22... Do you think professional athletes complain that they are going up against people 10 years older than them? Not at all. Train and be the best you can be... Dont make excuses for not being the best.
alright everyone. the meaning of "not fair" goes towards his age and his recent graduation from ashland. he's a phenomenal weight thrower with the quickest hip movement i have ever seen. I had forgotten the type of meet this was so that was the motive behind my comment.
i was a young 18 year old freshmen competing agaisnt kids that were older too....i never complained nor will i ever......you guys just need to get rid of your excuses
So it's fair to have 23 year old throwers compete with 4 years of eligibility against 18 year old freshmen throwers? (I was actually 17 when I started to throw collegiately.)
what makes it unfair. It's not like he was competing for 9 years of eligibility or anything. Who really cares considering someone will likley come from another countr and win the ncaa championship anyway. You really shouldn't complain cuz you wouldn't have beat him anyway even if he was 23. boo hoo the big bad elite thrower is beating on me. There will always be someone better, no matter the age. That's like me complaining that I dind't get to throw hammer in hs like they did. get over it.
What is the weight throw world record?

I think that this is the point why amrican hammerthrow is not so good.
Weight Throw kills the Tehnique and the hammer feeling.

Here in the UK, (I'm in Scotland) there is only one place to do the weight throw, and no one really does it, apart from the local hammer throwers.

No Canada contests the weight throw at the university level as well.
