people need to chill out and just listen to the fucken music and feel the amazing lyrics rush through ur blood instead of crying about other peoples opinions.
It's the ending and the part about the mother burying her son. I almost feel bad for the killer because you can hear remorse in his words but then if the one he meant to kill did die would he even care. It's just a great song by a band that's fucking ace.
This song gave me the chills the first time I heard it. I love it so much. What is that sound at the end of the song though? Is that from the actual singer doing something or is it something from the gun?
@nickkun21 u are a pathetic excuse for a human being. people like u are a huge part of why this world is such a mess, you cant let things be, u have to continue on these things to make sure that your point is heard, for what? for people like me and like half of the other people that have comented on this video to bag on you and insult you. grow up and listen to what people have to say, you have your opinion and other people have there own.... let it go,
@verbeek101 You don't sound any better calling someone pathetic. All human beings are here for a reason, and are beautiful, special and sacred. I came here for music, not animosity. Keep the peace.
@nickkun21 Well, there's no arguing with that logic. Have fun pursuing your pathetic self gratification. Oh and feel free to get the last word in because your not worth anymore of my time. See, I actually have a life.
@SatanSquarepants i completely agree with you, im not religous either but i have no problem with anothers religion and beliefs, but when they start to tell me that my beliefs are wrong and try to force theirs on me, i get irratated and start to rebel
The one thing I don't understand is why people are bothered by someones views on the existence of God? If it doesn't physically/mentally hurt you, let them be.
Hey, guys, why don't we just let @ajthe2nd believe whatever the hell he wants? Why do you guys care anyway? It's not like you're ever going to meet him. It doesn't affect you if he's christian, so just leave it alone.
Man people thinking this song is supposed to be religious really missed the point. The song is SUPPOSED to be about how senseless and tragic gang related violence can be. Any religious overtones are simply being used to help tell the story.
@supervegeta1509 You see, I agree that I think people are definitely missing the main point, but I don't think one person can pinpoint an exact main point if that makes sense. I interpret the song as the singer being the child that got "shot" but it all just represents himself losing innocence and the care-free world of childhood. I won't dispute anyone if they say it has to do with religion or senseless violence but people shouldn't be arguing over beliefs if it doesn't even pertain to the song
@ShaneRoweFilms I agree with all your points. I don't claim to know exactly what the song is about. My prior comment is merely my interpretation of it. But I 100% agree with your second point. Not sure why there is so much theological debate going on when it really isn't the focus of the song, but one of many elements which come together to tell a story.
@ShaneRoweFilms This isn't accurate. Wildlife is a concept album. The protagonist in every song on the album is an anonymous man recounting others' stories with his own thoughts put in the mix. But you're definitely right in saying that all this theological stuff has nothing to do with any pertinent theme in the song.
As of today, Jan 31st. I will no longer comment back to any comments that have to do with, heaven, hell, or God. If your here, just listen to song and comment on that, nothing more. Thanks!
@nickkun21 no. i don't feel beaten by you at all. i know the truth. i am simply done because the subject does not pertain to the song. i agree with @supervegeta1509.
@nickkun21 Wow you're a complete tool. Why get so hot and bothered over people's views? As long as they don't infringe on the rights of others then why worry about it? People should be uplifted for believing in something that gives their lives meaning. At the end of the day meaning is the only thing we can strive for as humans.
@nickkun21 dude i'm not religious either but that's someones beliefs and you should respect that you're not going to change his mind anymore than hes going to change yours
@nickkun21 The existence of God (or lack thereof) is not what this song is about. The references are simply a realistic medium used to give many people a stronger connection to the predominant themes expressed throughout it, as is characteristic of this album. Personally, I'm agnostic, and think that it's a monumentally stupid idea to attempt to shove one's ideas down the throat of someone else - regardless of what that idea is.
@nickkun21 Generally, those who want to work against perceived flaws will live by example. I don't think anyone who believes in any God is going to say "Hey! That atheist was right! I should stop believing in God and start being a dick to those who do, just like him!" It just doesn't work that way.
The answer to this man's question in the song is, no you won't get in to heaven. Because it doesn't exist. Your best bet is staying alive and sitting through jail for a few years and hope the judge shows some mercy.
@ajthe2nd I'm opened to all religions and respect them so I expect religious people to do the same and put themselves in the shoes of atheists and those alike. To atheist there's a book that was written by man, "inspired by god" ... that's not solid evidence since it's so easy to worship anything whether they're there or not. It's just hard to trust people from thousands of year ago. How do we know god hasn't died?
@ajthe2nd Still false. There is no heaven. There is no hell. There is Dante's Inferno, AKA personal hell. God is a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, sexist bully, so even if he was real, his heaven would not be heavenly.
@ajthe2nd What about fags, as you refer to them. What about lesbians? What about women who get raped and cannot have an abortion, because God said so? And if you read through the Bible, where the fucks the proof that God loves humanity?
This is everyday life for most kids that live in our American urban cites, pain, heart ache, and a strong relationship with hopelessness. Great song, very visually moving, but if this song moves you to tears, sad to say,but you need to live a little and get out of the bubble, because pain is every where and it's winning.
This changed my life completly. It grinds through my bones, shaking my body to the very core, touching my soul and leaving me as someone who became someone else, wanting to recall what I experienced, like a little bird, that just made his first flight. An experience I would never give away again.
This song BOTHERS every part of me. I don't even want to listen to it unless I know I can sit in silence and finish the entire thing. It ends and I am trembling in tears.
His voice always sounds like he saw his BEST FRIEND die in front of him.
Does anyone know what this style of vocals is called? I know its some type of screaming but not sure of the name. I am trying to learn the best way to record this kind of style and knowing its definition would help. cheer.
@colourshardcore It's not a named style of screaming. In fact, it isn't technically screaming. I'd call it more of a wail if you asked me, but that's just a matter of opinion.
The first time I hear this song I literally cried at the "Can I still get into Heaven if I kill myself?" line. And by literally I mean tears were shed and I was on a bus but it didn't MATTER.
This is the kind of gut wrenching shit I love, I feel bad for him because he wants to go to heaven and trying to be pure, but I fucking hate him for killing that kid. gets me every fucking time. this is a fucking flawless peice of music that blew me away on the first time I heard it like no other song ever has.
@rose19892008 That's what I tell people when they ask why this is my favorite band, exact words. Not only do they tell stories but they mean them, you can hear it and see it.
This song overwhelmed me the first time I heard it. The way the guitars fall into dissonance at the end and he's screaming those lyrics over the top. My entire body sort of gets pins and needles. It's insane.
@AngryOvari I'm not sure, the whole album tells stories of hardships, and how it affects the narrator. Some songs like "I See Everything" sounds like it was a personal experience to the narrator, so they could all by true stories that Jordan or the rest of the band experienced. Phenomenal piece of art and concept album either way. Album of the Year no doubt.
@dDemise Jordan Dreyer is a Christian, I believe. I've heard him in a few interviews and their band has also done some stuff involving some Christian labels. They're by no means a worship band. But you also have to keep in mind that just because someone is a Christian doesn't mean they don't ever feel angry or doubt. A real Christian questions everything and wants to understand. But as humans we can't. La Dispute has always had deep, emotional, philosophical lyrics. Some of the best of our time.
Ajthe2nd. I try to watch this video every single day...im lazy and have not bought any of their epic cds. Though I know all the songs they have on you tube...and yes, I said epic. The people below commenting negatively about la dispute...can blow one. This dude is a lyrical genius. His favorite bands are my favorite bands...Thursday, glassjaw, refused. Im in love...glad thatsomething like this has come around. Really.
@rmulkeyjr thanks! i appreciate it! i dont let any losers who hate them get to me. i know the difference between real music and stupid music. and this my friend, is real.
This CD is all about the hardships people have gone through. Anyone who jumps to the conclusion that this song is 'emo' clearly has not listened to the rest of the CD. I feel sad for those who have not... This CD gets me to and from College :D And I love it for that.. cuz they actually have things to say, unlike some bands who barely get me to school.. I still have 3 songs left when I get to school with La Dispute <3
This song is beautiful in every way. The end when you can hear the power, passion and emotion in his voice, then the killer line "can I still get into heaven if I kill myself?" always gives me chills. Hardcore music at it's best.
@angryovari I really doubt that is the intended meaning behind the song and if your first thought was God is a bitch after listening to this sing I believe you missed the point completely
@TheEpicScream you could write a thesis on this song and the events it describes. The lyrics in this sing are on a completely other level from most every song I have ever heard examining an aspect of life in the most poetic manner a lot like Emery does. Fantastic sing.
Refused is one of theor influences. As is glassjaw...Thursday. you can hear it in everything they do...but that's the way it is. People are influenced everyday...but most don't take it to the level these guys do. This is art.@TheDragonlord103

It's more than sadness, it deals with a VERY hard to understand issue.... Forgiveness. Who is it for, and how can the "undeserving" get it.
The last line... Don't wanna know how it ends.
So true, most of me screams, he has to pay, he deserves to die. But that's more senseless death, like the death he caused.
Yet to know that He can be forgiven, bothers some part of me.
Makes you think, lifes choices aren't always simple.
LaDispute is amazingly talented.

Really.

Can't tell if really dumb or troll.
I hope it is the latter though. "EVERYONE WHO DOESN'T LISTEN TO MY MUSIC IS A HUGE FAGZOR AND AN EMO LOLOLZ RETARDS ME 1 YOU 0"

"Can I still get into heaven if I kill myself?" who teared up when this was yelled. Honestly, I did. No I'm not emo but that was powerful as hell

There's a point in this song where you think its over, and you realize there's over half the song left. Unreal.

TomWeezy999 2 months ago
@h0wwh0reable Well all the songs on this album are actually stories they've heard from other people they had turned into songs. So you're right.

@angryovari I really doubt that is the intended meaning behind the song and if your first thought was God is a bitch after listening to this sing I believe you missed the point completely
nashtrojan 2 months ago
@TheDragonlord103 I am not sure if I have heard them before I will have to listen to them I just love Emery's lyrics about hard shit in life.
nashtrojan 2 months ago
@TheEpicScream you could write a thesis on this song and the events it describes. The lyrics in this sing are on a completely other level from most every song I have ever heard examining an aspect of life in the most poetic manner a lot like Emery does. Fantastic sing.
nashtrojan 3 months ago
@nashtrojan Refused did the same thing and there from the 90's
TheDragonlord103 2 months ago
Refused is one of theor influences. As is glassjaw...Thursday. you can hear it in everything they do...but that's the way it is. People are influenced everyday...but most don't take it to the level these guys do. This is art.@TheDragonlord103
