Well, Pops, storytelling is an art form, and you sir are an artist. My wife doesn't quite "get" my YT video obsession, but I have shown her some of yours and she said "he could read the phonebook and I would listen all the way to the Z's." you know something, I see her point and quite agree. Thanks for sharing!
Great video and really interesting story - I hope you can tell some more. My grandad died just a month or so ago and I really wish some of his stories could have reached a wider audience. Story telling is an art that is unfortunately disappearing.
@jataylor888 Hi James, Sorry to hear about your Grandad. I'm not sure how good a stort teller I am, but my son likes to hear me tell srories about my past. Thanks for watching and commenting,
Great video as always pops! I too smoked cigarettes for a long time, have since quit about 3 yrs now. Pipe smoking is a great way to enjoy tobacco for me that isn't in the vice form. I only smoke 2 pipes a week.
Enjoyed the video Pipepops ! About the story you told...racism and bigotry is rife the world over it seems....and I for one am sure glad I don't have to carry the weight of the the world ! :)
@TamperPeterson Indeed it is, Tamper. I'm just happy to be out of that rat race. Playing your recorders, out in the woods, is the way to go. There are no A-holes out there to put up with. (smile)
Great story pops! Your son's lucky that you're putting all these stories in video. My dad probably would have loved doing the same thing but he passed on just a little short of YouTube.
First thanks for the answers to the questions. Second, what is really sad about your story is that attitude is still around a lot more then one would like to think. The area I live in a really behind the times when it comes to that stuff. It's hard to believe.
Thanks for the story. I hope we get to hear more stories from ya soon.
@dighsx I understand what you're saying. I played several gigs in Michigan, both Northern and Southern. Even played in the U. P., but that's another story. LOL
question bout that story, the black/white thingie when on till like 1950/1960 with seperate places to sit in busses and toilets seperate ? or am i wrong in that im from 1978 so still a youngster and just curious.
@metalishkitten That incident occured in the late 70s, around 1978. Long after the civil rights movement had taken place. That's why I was so shocked at her comments.
Interesting story. I can imagine how uncomfortable that must have felt...at least that's as far as things went with it...I've heard some real horror stories of a similar nature...
I'm not sure how I missed this "10 question" post, but this sounds fun. I'll have to check it out.
What a story... hard to believe this sort of thing ever happened. But I suppose that if some people had it their way it would still be just like that or worse. Still, the accent impression made the story a little less dramatic. Shows you're a good storyteller.

@luisrafael420 Thanks. Well, I sometimes smoke a pipe all day, but I don't inhale with them. They keep me relaxed and occupied.
