  • I always have a cheat day once a week. it is actaully good for you to have a cheat day and eat extra calories. No problem. Pick a cheat day and be strict the restof the week.It wont affect you at all it will give you some extra energy and lift that low blood sugar of yours.

  • I've reviewed the program and my older brother did 2 rounds (180 days). He lost some hard earned upper body muscle and subsequent upper body strength during his P90X training. The smaller upper body muscles are most vunerable to muscle loss due to overtraining. The AbripperX overtrains the abdominal muscles for sure. You don't get a six pack by doing high volumes of ab exercises. You get it by a constant reduction in overall bodyfat over time by daily calorie deficits from exercise and diet.

  • There is NOTHING wrong with you.P90X is unfortunately a program so poorly thought out that it creates burn out and needless overtraining. You don't have to be THAT strict to attain success in getting lean. It's more what you do most of the time then what you do once in awhile in regards to your eating. A cheat day is not only good, it is part of the "getting lean" process. PLEASE google Clarence Bass Ripped program. You will get WAY leaner and better conditioned then P90X..and have fun doing it.

Tony Horton and the P90X Beachbody organization simply don't know enough to be training people. They know how to excite,..but not train.

  • @brushfour44 the problem isn't in the program, it's in the people. if you are a person who exercises regularly or does sports, you can follow their routine with the same amount of reps easily. the problem is in the people who are not used to exercise, and they are pushing themselves way to hard and the next day they feel like they died yesterday. the people don't know how to workout. BUT... the P90X team should do some instructional 15min video about heart rates, feeling the burn etc...

  • The older you get, the worse it is to overtrain. It's better to train brief/hard with more days rest.The more rested you are, the harder you'll train.Walking is one of the best fat burners there is.Feeling a burn is related to lactic acid build up in muscles; it is not related to fat burn.There is NO fat burn heart rate zone. Heart rates are not related to muscle repair which takes longer than Tony realizes.He pushes people toward overtraining and all the Recovery Formula in the world won't help

  • Dude yeah P90x is extremely hard to stay dedicated to. I could never pass day like 40. Get a membership to a gym. I PROMISE you'll love it so much more!! Like i goto the gym for fun its not even working out for me. P90x was just a huge dread of an hour workout+. I hate it compared to the gym. Plus gym= WAYYYY better results.

  • I've been doing P90x for a while and trying to follow a strict diet...BUT....I like cookies, cake, pizza, and beer....It happens....you're going to slip up sometimes....luckily, you're body is not going to punish you for having an off day or two....It's when it becomes a habit, the problem starts

  • heres some advice: keep going. dont worry about doubles, just do your best for yourself, put the dvd in every day this workout is so intense you dont have to be on a strict diet your burning a thousand calories a workout so you should be eating 3000 calories a day and you will gain mass and get ripped at the same time from these crazy intense cardio workouts, im not on a strict diet im just eating a little healthier and seeing results and im still in phase one, day 16 today for me!

I used to be 200 pounds and now I'm 160, so I know what I'm talking about. There are times when I don't feel like working out either. Sometimes I fight through it and work out, sometimes I take the day off. But I never get down about it. Time heals.
