This is cruel? How do you expect teachers to control kids who are increasingly unruly today? if my son goes ballistic in school and gets this from his teacher, I'd make sure the teachers gets a public commendation and award.

So the teacher hit the table with a ruler, it broke and a piece struck the student's eye. This is an accident, unless there is more to the story than presented. Hitting a table is not "brutal corporal punishment". Why waste time on accidents, tell us about the boy you say was branded, there might be a story there, but this sort of story erodes credibility.

lets say in the worst case scenario, teachers use corporal punishment on students....wat the hell happened to a smack on the ass...why are teacher leaving this scarring traumatic memories on children, who honestly are going to be children, this is very troubling... that teacher should be whacked in the head too so she can feel it....and this is is common place is most of Asia. So, I highly doubt it was an accident.
