You are clearly mistaking the PSEye with the EyeToy. Two TOTALLY different cameras. The EyeToy was for the PS2, the PSEye is for PS3. The PSEye CAN detect 3D motion by a simple algorithm. Small object becoming large is obviously forward movement, vise versa for backward motion. Kinect uses the same algorithm. Kinect has less FPS and narrower viewing angle than PSEye. Go on, anybody and everybody, compare specs side by side and PSEye is clearly better, and came out 3 years before.
