  • I is my favourite, whats yours?

  • Great topic, even better intro. Whew!

  • you are so beautiful

  • we are living in the dark ages. watch the BBC documentary 'a farm for the future' to understand why.

pay particular attention to when they mention crop yields of permaculture farming (hint they are high, especially when compared to their energy input which is close to 0). there is a possible future for humankind but it will require a massive cultural shift. the documentary is on google video in full. good luck

  • Developing countries DO NOT RELY on OIL....that's why they are called "developing"... Unfortunately, they are trying to "develop OIL DEPENDENCY"... as you should all know...that's a bad thing!

    Think more, react emo less!

  • In developing countries they rely on fertilizer and other oil based products to grow food, as do the rest of us. The cost of fertilizer has doubled in line with oil prices putting it beyond the reach of a lot of farmers in poorer countries. This is one of the reasons why food production is dropping so much in developing nations and food prices are on the rise for the rest of us.

  • Well then, we know that said "developing country" needs to stop growth and remain in balance (population vs natural resources), that's true throughout the world.....We (US, and other Westernized) are simply spoiled, and must now bear the same burden as the "underdeveloped" (notice, "underdeveloped" relative).

Test will come when Oil hits $220/bbl...then all the "bleeding hearts" will be equally poor and starving! JMHO

  • Sure, OIL companies are making record profits, because WE ARE BUYING AT RECORD RATES...HELLO...IT'S THE CONSUMER that sets demand, not the supplier. And of course the gov taxes every hydro-carbon transaction along the way.... So, let's not forget the GOV is collecting RECORD TAXES...

Put on your 360-degrees lenses, and see the whole picture!

  • That's Alaska, surely

  • I LOVED THE INTRODUCTION
