Yeah.......why don't you Freestaters come to the Midwest........where they won't put up with your antics.......... I'd love to see a Freestater on the working end of a Taser......
in tn its a violation of the law to say anything negative about police or his or her family its been on the books for years but its hardly ever used because people no better then to say anything for fear of police who were voted the # 1 state for police abuse and corruption.
I have been driving without a license since this happened, I even got a speeding ticket on my motorcycle while driving without a "valid" license, although I was not ticketed for it. I have received no warnings from the DMV regarding my current "state" and from everything I can tell, there is no need for a license, I am certainly not going to pay a 25yo ticket from AZ. So far so good.
I would advise you to just pay the fine and move on; it is not worth the future trouble that this could cause you. It is insulting, perhaps, but this is apparently a new policy.
I live in Ca, and a few months ago I tried to renew my DL when I was informed by an overly-rude bureaucrat from our state DMV that I could not renew my license because there was an outstanding ticket from Arizona. She gave me a number in Arizona to call but refused my desire to have a temporary license until this matter was cleared. The ticket in question is 25 years old. Therefore, my state has chosen to value the say-so of another state agency ahead of a citizen's presumed innocence.
the Supreme Court of the United States held that an ordinance requiring solicitors to purchase a license was an unconstitutional tax on the Jehovah's Witnesses' right to freely exercise their religion.
This case also established the preferred position doctrine, which states that "[f]reedom of press, freedom of speech, [and] freedom of religion are in a preferred position," indicating that certain fundamental human rights have prerogative.
I would assume the right to travel is among those.
The borough of Jeannette, Pennsylvania had an ordinance that required solicitors to purchase a license from the borough. Murdock was one of Jehovah's Witness who asked for contributions in exchange for books and pamphlets. The city claimed that this meant that they were being sold and a license was required. At question was whether the licensing requirement constituted a tax on Murdock's religious exercise.
In 2013, I'm moving to New Hampshire. I had actually wanted to move there long before the "Free State Project." I grew up in California, and will miss the weather, but will not miss the high taxes, crime, excessive regulation, high unemployment, poor schools, crowded freeways. And the list continues.
IL resident. yes the huge tax increase has everyone pretty much p od. not to mention the BS about recording police being a FELONY! wow how do they get away with this crap!
Yet another cop beating video emerges, this time in Houston with 5 white officers beating a 14yo black teenager senseless. Might want to add this to your file footage RR.
I filmed police when they were harassing a young driver. What happened was another cop was dispatched and he turned his in car camera straight toward me and recorded me. I thought that was very tyrannical, scared the shit out of me. 'Protect and Serve' by surveilling free citizens doesn't seem logical.
@thechitowncubs What you have failed to realize my friend is the Police have no duty to protect the individual this statement was ruled by the supreme court. Neither dose any government agency. There duty is to the STATE which is a private corporation. Infact if you research on D&B.com (which is a credit rating agency for private corporations) you will find out that local towns courts county sheriffs all agencies you thought were public are in fact private. US is a fascist dictatorship est. 1871
@thechitowncubs How does a private corporation have jurisdiction over the individual you may ask??? though the SS-5 form for the income tax through residece for state federal and local so called goverments. They are adhesion cotracts. One sided contracts waving a so called benefitad coverting a right into a privilage. Just like your "drivers license" does to your right to travel, freely and unencumbered on the open road see Murdock v.Pennsylvania.
@RationalDischarge: high property taxes are a feature, not a bug. South Carolina has sales taxes and income taxes - taxes that go to a central bureaucracy. New Hampshire has neither (excepting restaurants/hotels) so the taxes are determined locally through more direct government. If you live in South Carolina you'll pay 10.2% of your income in taxes; in New Hampshire you'll pay 7.3%. Getting that 7.3% down is a laudable goal, but centralizing power is not.
Dave, I'm a potential mover to NH, but I'd like to offer one piece of what I hope is constructive criticism. It was a total waste of effort trying to get South Carolinians interested in the FSP, because they pay approximately 1/10th of what you guys pay in taxes, especially on property. Speaking just for me, I would have made the move more than a year ago if NH property taxes weren't completely unreasonable. What's taking the FSP so long to accomplish this one small but crucial policy plank?
There was a liberty migration? wow. Kinda wish I had heard about that one 10 years ago. I also envisioned a mass exodus out of the belly of the beast known as Dallas Ft worth. Only things didn't pan out as I had hoped. If only all oppression was as overt as the examples you present. The saying still rings true. "You cannot conquer what you can't confront."
We need to inform potential jurors that they don't have to convict people who break bad laws. Its been done against fugitive slave laws and Prohibition. People who aided runaway slaves and ran rum were acquited despite overwhelming evidence because juries recognized the true crime was slavery and Prohibition. Will our generation realize the real crime is the police state?
Thanks, It doesn't get any better than that. Felony charges for recording your public servant / employees actions. The next step in our great democracy will be capital offence charges for complaining at a town hall meeting. Or better yet, showing up to vote.

Ridley, you need to recruit business. Hit them where it hurts, in the wallet.
If they see business flood to free states, they might start to come around to the idea of freedom and once freedom gets a seed it will grow.
Verator 1 year ago
@Verator I agree that NH needs more jobs, but the taxes on businesses in NH would most likely scare them.

So why doesn't the FSP send some reps to IL and "recruit" people to NH?

Obviously, on duty agents of the state, paid by our tax dollars, should be exempt from "privacy" laws.
