  • fuck you the satanism bitch :)

  • lol @ satanic jefferson airplane

  • I first heard of this band in the book Lords Of Chaos....now that I'm finally hearing them, it's awesome...it's like Anton Levay's Satanic Bible in rock form.

  • The Satanic Jefferson Airplane!

  • whos the skinny guy in the middle?

  • "OK everybody, listen up...we've got a new Org. Chart...some of you will be reporting to new supervisors..."

  • that guy on the right looks like luka modric

  • yea all true but sabbaths music was much heavyer making it A different music

  • Coven is my favorite band ever..By far one the most underrated band ever..They had so much variety and wicked talent on their original three albums("Witchcraft Destroys Minds And Reaps Souls"(1969),"Coven 2"(1972),and "Blood On the Snow"(1974) and the later released "Goth Queen"(studio outtakes and live recordings)..I love Jinx's voice so much!!She is an incredible singer ,a very nice person, and the most beautiful woman that ever walked the earth..Ave!

  • The bassist name was Oz Osborne.

  • this song rules. :)

  • Very '60 sounding verse...

  • awesome band, i see where alot of music i listen to, get their roots

  • After Coven's debut "Witchcraft 'had been out for a year, the first Black Sabbath album rwas eleased(1970) A band photo was issued in which Black Sabbath were posing in the photos dressed all in black with crosses on and Ozzy holding a wooden post with a human skull on top that was modeled to the exact pose of Coven's 1969 promo photo, except that Coven had inverted crosses on..and Jinx held the post with the skull on top of it..

  • @billjannusch Yeah and yet Sabbath never credited Coven. I hate that when bands can't even be bothered to cite a certain band as an influence on the. In my eyes it is a sign of disrespect. It make's me lose respect for the band that failed to credit the influence. You take something or borrow it from someone, you are supossed to give credit where it is due.

  • Coven were the precursors to all Satanic/Occult hard rock and metal bands that would follow. The fact that the blues originated in Chicago,Il. and was later adopted in England and Europe parallels the birth of Satanic metal which began with this band in Chicago in 1969 and was later adopted by Black Sabbath(who I also love) in England who borrowed more than a few ideas from this record, such as the songtitles "Black Sabbath"and "Wicked World",more than a little like Coven's "Wicked Woman."

  • lmao satanist hippies haha... most epic thing i saw today^^

  • @ZyklonCable haha even if they did "hippies music" they were not hippie at all.

  • @TherionSamael Aleister Crowley was a pretty big influence on hippie culture and the occult figured heavily into some hippie circles. Coven is an interesting band and a great missing link between metal and hippie rock but they are certainly hippies. Just not the flower power kind.

  • When i said "amazing" I didn't mean it in the sense that "The sky did open and toads and serpents did fall from the Heavens", I meant it was a pretty cool and funky factoid connected to the film. By the way, the youth club i used to attend was not some sort of Religous-oriented bollocks; it was merely a social event for under 18's-presumably to keep us off the streets, getting into bother, smoking dope and watching "Video Nasties"- so in my case, it failed!

  • @TheStaticage01; I have seen the aformentioned "I Drink Your Blood" which is a really cool 1970 cult classic- in fact, I actually sneaked out of youth-club at the age of twelve to watch it on VHS over a friend's house. Interesting fact: director David Durston based the rituals performed by SADOS (Sons and Daughters of Satan) upon actual rites described to him by his then girlfriend, who was (allegedly) a member of a Satanic Coven! How amazing is that?

  • @eibon81 basically, he knew someone who knew someone who knew someone. Not really that amazing ?

I mean, crowley and co have had their fingers everywhere, how much does that own ;) *chuckles* I am not much impressed by anyone growing up or being in a community anyway. gosh, here are all sorts of bunch of lodges and clubs. Masons, Saturni, you name it *shrugs* most cultleaders also try theirself at music more or less successful - not too much of a surprise. popemusic ;)))

  • The Devil's Blood are like a modern day equivalent, but after hearing this I would say that Coven preceded the mighty Black Sabbath as instigators of metal. All hail Coven!

  • OH MY GOD THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!

  • this is badass

  • jinx & coven rule over all!!! psychedelicjazzacidrock for the Devil...

  • coll stuff, I need more!

  • Ya tengo algo para compartir con mis amigos hippies :)

  • Peter, Paul and Mary did some bad acid one night and it resulted in this.

  • @SDChargersForever Yes, Im sure taking acid resulted in a single night of writting ,arranging and recording of this entire album running over 45 minutes. In your perception of reality only, of course.

  • It is a great record and this is the best track!

  • Lol satanist hippies rofl.

  • @ZyklonCable Yea I thought it was rather comical myself-the funny part is that you can tell that they put alot of "heart" into it too. lol

  • @TheStaticage01 . dude the satanic hippies are the craziest ones , think charles manson , has anyone seen the movie, "I Drink Your Blood"? watch that shit and see if your still laughing, this aint a joke im sure. i know jinx grew up in some crazy commune . theyre more real then sabbath wit the occult shit i know that much

  • @ZyklonCable Hey Coven is awesome!

  • I found this band while reading Lords Of Chaos :D

  • Lol I found this album at Value Village a few months back. I just looked at the cover, looked at the inside, I had to buy it.

  • My goodness, I had this album when I was a kid. haven't thought about it in years! Amazingly, here it is on the "net". fyi: the inside of the album cover had a sweet photo of pretty Jinx wearing nothing but a skull on her puss!

  • @newcavewoman luckyyy

  • @newcavewoman

I bet every male just went and googled for that pic of her LOL.

  • @WoodRatGirl I know I did

  • @newcavewoman under the "thank you" part of the album sleeve does it say "I'd like to thank the big man downstairs"?

  • This song is amazing!

    Jinx i love you!

  • sounds like they got no help from the old devil after all.

  • @packysomerville You mean it sounds GOOD! What a shame.

  • Yeah I agree TheCuriousgeorge90, , Black Sabbath would be totally different. They're secular---they're singing and playing around with the myth of Satan, hell, evil, darkness. Satanists and other religious deity worshipers are hypnotized sheep that believe an ideology but do not trust their own eyes or thoughts.

  • @TheAustinJack black sabbath are washed out, especially by the all friendly radio and the repetitiive greatest hits.......

  • @TheCuriousgeorge90 Which is strange considering all of their "hits" are nothing compared to the non-hits on the first 4 albums.

  • @flyingv809 that is so true....hmmmm

  • 666!

  • She sings good and it's nice to see the "opposite" of the usual song references. But to me this is the exact same as christian rock--they're both using concepts and characters mentioned in the christian bible. Why not let all that go &focus on our humanity, science and understanding the true spiritual side such as our ability as humans to love, hate, and have imagination. If satanists were truly "against" they would not buy into any of the bible stories--even if it's with the powerful antagonist.

  • i totally agree with you! i also consider this to be like christian rock. i think black sabbath on the other hand is different u agree?

  • @TheAustinJack For clarification, Satanists don't believe in an actual Satan. It's just a symbol to them. So no, it's not like Christian rock. Unless Christian rockers don't actually believe that Christ exists.

  • @jamesoblivion Well that's bullshit, that shows that you only know of Laveyism. Ever read anything else than the famous "satans bible"? :)

  • @jamesoblivion thats not true.there are more kinds of satanism than just laveyan philosophy..... there actual theistic satanists who worship him and believe in his existence, and there are the chaos gnostics etc...

  • @Necrophil89 And those people are far less inclined to start rock bands.

  • @jamesoblivion you think so??

then check out "the devil´s blood" and the song "christ or cocaine"

  • @Necrophil89 Oh yes, absolutely I think so. Cherrypick songs all you want...for every honest-to-badness, sincere, True Believer, devil-worship song you can point to, I'll point to a thousand that use Satan as a hedonistic symbol. So yes, the people who truly believe in, and worship an actual Satan are indeed far less inclined to start rock bands.

Not that any of this matters, since there is no Satan.

  • @jamesoblivion You are referring to Laveyan Satanists, who claim not to believe in the Devil. Theistic Satanists do exist, and do believe in a deity or fallen angel.

  • Coven rules!!!It's awesome hearing this song from vinyl as well!!This song kicks major ass!!!Awesome vocals from Jinx!!

  • hail satan true God 666.

  • One of the best satan-psych tracks ever. Worship Coven!

  • I'm not into Satan or anything but this is quite interesting. I mean I like the music but I'm not like serious into it. This is kinda like a culture shock compared to what you think Satanic rock should sound like. Not to bad I dig.

  • @sekateh666 ..... wow

  • @sekateh666 You're a laughably ignorant fool aren't you? I'm assuming you are some kind of pathetic christer and an angry black one at that- or failing that someone who aspires to be an angry black. I would wish you ill but it already sounds like you are in some hel of your own choosing beyond anything i could wish on you.

  • Hahahahahahahaha.... ur wastin ur tyme fucktard...

  • @sekateh666 Your attitude displays a remarkable level of stupidity as those kind of crass comments are usually the result of fear and confusion at something they do not understand. Something that must happen to you a lot in your daily life. I hope for your sake you find a way of ending it soon preferly without causing too much fuss for anyone else. You've done enough of that throughout your worthless life.

  • @sekateh666 First of all, learn how to spell. Coming from someone with "666" attatched to their name, it makes no sense for you to preach to us. God is myth.

  • The Names mentioned in this song are from A.E. Waite's THE BOOK OF BLACK MAGIC AND PACTS. You can also see these Names in an old grimoire called Grimorium Verum and the first book of The Lemegeton called The Goetia. This said, I think that Jinx Dawson was a lovely sight and some people confuse her with Diane LaVey, but this was well over 40 years ago.

  • the singer is hot

  • @ZombifiedPreacher1 she was hot in her day but now i bet she is old and wrinkled. but at the end she'll be more hotter than ever for being a satanist.

  • @shanefire6 She's still hot....Big red downstairs must be doing something right ;)

  • @ZombifiedPreacher1 She is still hot!

  • Coven 4 Life!!!!!

  • lol

  • If you don't like anything about it, why are you commenting? Seems to be childish.

  • ...Get myself a life? Im not the one going around and commenting videos I dont like. Oh well, do what you shall.

  • I'm a child, suck gods dick

  • not only a child but a retard reject as well.

  • indeed

  • your gods reject and never will he come to you or you near him again. satan is the ruler of this world, so say's even the bible. satan is the ruler of this sick world, all we can do is enjoy this sickness and make something worth of it. there is no heaven but the big bue one above.

  • exelent !!!!!!

  • On the far right .. Mantas from Venom?

  • WOW I didn't realize until now the similarity haha.

  • All the Christians will die for my sins

  • @FiswaT

    wow, you like coven to?

    hahahhaha.

  • ye man, i listen to tons of shit haha

  • orly *looks at your spam* bwahahaha , my ass, you love to praise him all the way. \m/-

  • Nah thanks though, Satan is associated with the best bands... so sayeth Homer Simpson!!

  • @Llewbeanie

    So sayeth Bart Simpson, brother!

  • @Llewbeanie actually it was bart

  • @Llewbeanie Actually, Bart said that. Rev Lovejoy invited the kids to hear Testament in the church basement, to which bart replied "Everyone knows that all of the good bands are aligned with Satan"

  • @Llewbeanie You're thinking of BART Simpson.

  • glory to satan, i hope he will sodomize you and jesus in a hot threesome. Nerd, only a fool would believe in the bible. haha

  • Satan has won, we got a lot of wars that believer of jesus christ started. haha way to go Jesus, high five! The King of stupidity, The lord of sodomy is Jesus. I hope jesus will burn in hell.

  • jormox69 is so worried that he keeps repeating himself like a parrot about jesus.

  • @jormox69

You're in the wrong place to be preaching, one comes here to listen to music and you are shoving religion down one's throat. I'm not one to talk about religion, but in your case I'll fight 'FIRE' with 'FIRE' you say read Psalm 91? Well, I say read Matthew 5:43-47

  • shut the hell up.

  • You're mistaken, jormox69 (69? Would Jebus approve of such congress?).

The Lake of Fire only houses those pathetic souls who wasted their lives devoted to jehovah, yet who were rejected by this weak and petty god.

I wish you christians would stop spreading lies about the True God, Master Satan. Those excellent individuals who discover Satan, even though it is not popular in this age, shall be counted among Protector Satan's most cherished friends and will know Paradise!

    Hail Satan!

  • Then who put Satan in Hell?

  • The old monk Rustico, with the help of a young girl named Alibech, managed to put the Devil back in Hell.

  • yeahyeahyeah, i hope satan will sodomize you and Jesus in a hot threesome, haha

  • Does anyone know where I could get their album?! Its hard to find them out there, itunes doesnt have it, and i really like their music. If anything, please let me know. Thanxs

  • Hi daniel, you can get the albums from Jinx directly via myspace, she has links for you to click on to order them.. which she added the missing incantion to the Satanic Mass for historic purposes to the first album.. Just search Coven on myspace Music :o)

  • Thanks man. Im gonna go get that album with the Black Sabbath song. Really good one. :)

  • Cool Daniel.. Enjoy it.. Its a addictive album, one of the best concept albums recorded!!

  • Beautiful music, I love this band! This is my favorite track on this album.

  • is this the first satanic band? if so, THESE guys are the first metal band, not really in the way they sound, but in their theme, which is satan and darkness, which metal became well know for.

  • actually, BLACK WIDOW was satanic back in the 60s. They were, as far as i know, the FIRST SATANIC BAND.

  • Thanks so much for this.

  • Hail SATAN!

  • HAIL SATAN!

  • Sorry, but I prefer to hail myself...

  • Then you are truly a god unto thyself!

  • lol It's me

  • Perfect. Satanic acid rock with a SMOKIN' hot female lead! Don't get much better.

  • This rocks!

  • Look up the alpha numerical correspondence of #752 in Sepher Sephiroth which could be found in Aleister Crowley's "Gematria". Come, and see what it means !!

  • there is blastbeats in this song, beginning from 2:10 ca. ?? this may be the first blastbeat part ever recorded? Hail Sathan!

  • Greetings Bloodcrowned!

The beginning "blastbeat" at 2:10 onward may be the first one ever recorded. Other firsts was the use of the CORNU ("The Sign of the Horns"). Another first was that this was the first real Satanic lp ever released like a seething basilisk unto the public. They used Goetic imagery and also sang about the history of Magick and Left Hand Path. They also used Satanic Mass similar to LaVey's Ceremonial Magic as well as Crowley.

    Ave Satani!!

    Diabolus vobiscum, REX inferni!

  • pretty unique lead playing there. The guitarist sounds like he was trying to shred on Blues like

Alvin Lee at the time, but with his own melodic flavors.

  • I love it. It's like reverse spiritual.

  • Some of the names are taken from the Olde Grimoires. The most famous one written about a century ago was Arthur Edward Wait's THE BOOK OF BLACK MAGIC AND PACTS (Which the TV Series THRILLER used). There was a Goetia which was released by Aleister Crowley. One point of interest is that in the Greek writing at the beginning of Crowley's Goetia, there is a curse put on Samuel Liddel McGregor Mathers. Grimorium Verum and other Grammars of Magic contained the names mentioned in this tune. Thanx !

  • True, but the Goetia wasn't originally released by Aleister Crowley was it? I'm not confident about that part, but all of your other information is 100% dead on!

  • The "Goetia" is one of the books in an old manuscript called "The Lemegaton". The second book is called: "Theurgia Goetia" followed by three more sections. The copy of this Lemegeton could be found in the British Museum.

A.E.Waite released similar references prior to Crowley's version.

The word "grimoire" is also an old vernacular for "grammar".

  • Great song!

  • Cooool!

    Hell-Yeah!
