great great lesson. for the1st part with the full capo, minus the last string, isnt that a "duhh" for anyone who plays guitar?? (not a beginner) lol but nahh, great lesson dude
I sent an email to kyser inquiring about other capos and no response. I use my short cut backwards at the seventh fret. I was wondering if there is an alternative so I don't have to lift off the fret board and go around the handle to the frets above teh capo. I know that there are new capos, I was hoping one of them would have worked. but alas no reply at all.
If you have a Kyser full capo you can just reverse it to use as a partial capo exactly as in the video but only up to fret 2 as it snags strings on higher frets.
the noise of the thumb hiting the top of the sound hole when you up strum keep me alert for the lesson

Thanks for this. The idea of playing behind the capo had never even occurred to me!
I've wondered about these for a long time, but now I'll definitely be buying one.

Hey Dusk,
you don't fret the strings that are clamped - but you can fret strings underneath the capo, no prob. make sense? email me if you need more help?

I just ordered one not completely nderstanding the benefits of a cut capo, but with this video I totally get it.
How do you fret the strings that are open but still obstrcted by the capo?

The first chord is an E. Some people might get
confused. Good idea though.

Thanks. Helpful to see how to start with a partial capo.
