I am white and played music for a lot of years, I know a lot of black people and I have been to funerals for several black people. Most all the services were similar to this one. I have to say all the ones I attended were very, very comforting, uplifting music to the extent you know the spirit done got there and there was no doubt that the person made their journey home. In my opinion that is the very best way to go out and the best kind of final memory to have of the deceased person.
KEY: "families give their money to the funeral that gives the best show" sounds VERY UNPROFESSIONAL... They should be paying to make sure their loved ones are laid to rest with the proper respects instead of someone putting on a show...
When you guys get the chance I think ya'll should ckeck out "High step at a Funeral in Alabama" I really liked what you guys was doing so I decided to bring it to Alabama. Just check it out!

@RampGuy1 ummmm most african american funerals are this way..... we prefer it to be more of a celebration of life or as the title says a going home service
That Boy Toni Tanny ain't playing in Ocala He just had a funeral with about 3000 folks in attendance and he gave them the whole show Hores and buggy and all
yea beautiful service. even went on to b nice at burrel cemetary in santos. they have the nicest tomb casin in da whole yard. its a stainless steel silver wit gold writing

I like the expression they are rendering back to this obviously expressively and passionate woman. Amazing, what a beautiful appreciation of her life.
Italian1976 shut up there are many styles in the funeral department if that what the family wants so let it be my god father owns a funeral home in south arkansas and ppl all ways aks what plans do we have and we tell them we have no plans u just pick what you want and if they want us to bring a casket out the church like guess wat i will get up in the front of the casket and get a stepen b/c the are paying use so just shut upItalian1976 .
This is Snow Funeral Ministries out of Ocala, Fl. Under the direction of Felix Snow LFD/Embalmer who's also the Owner. Just to let you know he's the one that's high stepping. His services always be on point.
Its all about how you separate yourself from the competition im 30 years old and a funeral director so basically this is the new generation of funeral service Mr. Snow the gentleman in charge of that service isnt that old either basically all im trying to say is this aint your mama and daddy funeral directors coming up now new ideas new thinking and a fresh approach to funeral service thats all.
I'm a Funeral Director as well, however, many diffrent ethic groups have diffrent ways of conducting a funeral, of course this is not the traditional funeral (whatever the hell that means lol) It was conducted with dignity and Pride. O. R. Vinson, Burton Funeral Home, Tuskegee, AL
I haven't seen high-stepping at a funeral in years! It brought tears to my eyes to see it so beautifully done. High stepping, as i was told by my father who is from New Orleans started in the south by blacks and it was to represent a soul high-stepping to heaven.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THAT WALKING?! OMG! HOW EMBARRASSING! I'm a funeral director and if anyone one of my staff ever walked like that, bringing a casket out of the church, i'd fire them.
First off how are you? I don't know how you all do it there but, here almost every funeral home high steps especially in the black communities. Families pay for the funeral home that gives the best shows well, I should say presentations. Its not embarrassing here mostly every family i've talked with said, "they were please with the services they were given by everyone of these funeral homes." JOB WELL DONE PHELIX KEEP ON HIGH STEPPING.
You are talking bad about this service but I bet in the near future you will be copying this same style...that's the way it is...People talk crap about black people but then they copy them...and I bet you don't even own a funeral home...if you did you probably would have put the name of it on here like the rest of these professionals did....thank you very much
To ready348 i agree Tony Tanner is good but, I feel everything he do Felix already done not to be rude. Felix carried Tony under his wings for awhile if im not mistaken. But, I must say, "Tony is good I can't take nothing from him". And, he's a really kewl dude as you prob. already know. Oh! it's another one that will give them a run for their money, lol. The Carnegie Funeral Home in Chiefland Fl.
The dude in the white suit is the owner and LFD/Embalmer. Felix is no joke he's always on point. Here everyone loves the way he walk those caskets don't let him stop in the middle of the isle and act like he flyin away wit it boy they act a fool.Long story short when the funeral is over people wait just to see him high step.
This was a nice funeral service. I love the way felix does things ,but there is a new funeral home in ocala. Tony Tanners funeral service that is taking the funerl service to the next level.
YEs they are on point! I'm in law school but will be going to AAMI because this is what I really want to do. They are cool they said I can intern there however I'm in NYC:(
To mlady21 if i'm not mistaken this funeral service is where a airplane crashed into her home if im not mistaken. And, the thing about it i was told he was in her praying closet at the time.
This funeral home is well known for what they do. I love to see him as if he was flying away with the casket. Thats right Snow give the family what they pay for job well done. The best high stepper in Ocala, FL. I think this is the best dress'd funeral home staff locally. Snow Funeral Ministries don't play the radio.
As a African-American funeral director, I respect the "Show & Go" of the black funeral, but the "high-steppin" casket attendants is a bit over the top; I would "hit the breaks" with the white suits.....MAN!
what happen to them i love the ending of this vido the funeral director is on point i have never seen a funeral home staff do that i need to show this to my godfather staff so they can do it omg sorry for your lost thou
