  • There's an all-in almost every hand. That's the WSOP for you, i guess.

  • @Oreilly240ify that's just the ESPN editing, as they believe the audience enjoy the 'all-in moments' most of all. It doesn't necessarily represent the play.

  • It's pretty strange that you don't see d**k of Eastgate during Part 1.

  • quite donk like for demidov to call the phillips' house. but who am i to say. he made it to the final table.

  • 2008 - PRO's AK eliminated by AQ, Rheem

  • Phil Hellmuth is such a DUSCH BAG

He sure dont know how to lose ..

  • question how does eastgate get the fn money 2 buy in??????????? at 22

  • @unothisshit2010

He is a pro.He probably won a satellite to the main event but it wouldn't surprise me if he had the bankroll to buy in even without it.

  • eastgate is much better than joe cada...

  • @ibvvjiug but both are donks

  • @IamCalvinmcnizzle Both are donks? :DDDDD

I think you're the only donk here, yes Eastgate has some luck on his Main Event run 2008, but look at his over results!

    ALL LUCK?!?!

    I don't think so...

  • @zao911 it wasn't just anyone who hit the queen it was darvin moon who was running unbelievably well all main event

  • anybody recognized that the both pros at the final table in 2008 and 2009 (rheem and ivey) were kicked by AQ holding AK? sick..

  • @buddhher < Good point- hole cards are sometimes only confidence builder.

Here Rheem looking at Eastgate's A-Q declares, "I got him" ! How could the "only pro at the table" jump to conclusion that A-K is the best cards pre-flop ? Seems like math fails when luck runs out.

  • @Zeno1999 AK is only beaten by Kings and Aces pre-flop so AK is one of the best cards pre-flop

  • @buddhher < True but assuming that chip leader would buckle under pressure of all-in preflop bet by low stack is a big mistake by a seasoned professional. On these final tables, staying alive is more important than gaining extra chips.

  • @Zeno1999 lol cmon he had less than 10 BB left.

  • @buddhher hah that doesnt seem to be the case at the main event final table. this year rheems AK lost to AQ and in 2009 Phil Iveys AK lost to darvin moons AQ when they were both all in preflop

  • thats ironic, Phil Ivey was knocked out in 7th place in 09 when someone hit a queen vs his Ace King

  • show me A Q please.... yes i have A Q usHAUhsuaHSUAhsuaHSU

  • @DanieINegreanu you're a fucking stupid son of a bitch

  • Demidovs supporters dont do a lot to dispell the steriotype that Russians are communists, waving the hammer & sickle, stupid idiots

  • hey guys adrianfig is like pig fuck lol

  • Jixar - ofcourse. But you can see the cards, and Demidov couldn't ..

Lecavalierfan: you are mistaken - this is just highlights ..

  • Rheem reads so damn well.

  • demidov should have folded those jacks

  • what's the name of the metal song?

  • how do they play when its like, only the very first round? do they all sit in the same room or do they do individual tables like this?

  • That was the first hand Eastgate played in the final table if I'm not mistaken.

  • @lecavalierfan004

They don't show every single hand, only the major ones. They maybe show like 1/10 of all the hands played? Maybe less.

  • Comment removed

  • Really? I didn't know that. I have a question though. If this is true, then how come chip counts and blinds are always in sync?

  • @lecavalierfan004 Yeah, super-tight.

  • The first hand they showed

  • first of all...you have to have so much luck to even reach the money in the main event and secondly....demidov is quite clearly a pretty sick player considering some of the plays that he made in this event...not to mention some of the folds!

  • rheem is a pro and he had a lot of luck in this main event

  • Man, I really can't stand that smug demidov.

  • unlucky chino. i got deja vu about this hand this year's final table: a certain well known pro, a certain contender for youngest ever champion, a sick sick Q on the flop... poker is a cru-el game...

  • I love EastGate!

  • This was a great table of players, maybe no big-name Pro, but the play was as good as any of the last five Final Tables. Demidov, Eastgate, and Schwartz all were deserving of the championship. Luck is a part of the game, and to not acknowledge that is to seal your fate with ignorance.

  • when poker would have no realtion to luck

the great pro´s ivey, negreanu etc. would win every main event

but certainly gold and eastgate had amazing luck

  • yang LOL.

  • you dont get that far in a tournament purely on luck, shut the fuck up. im sure he made great lay downs and a ton of other great decisions that got him to the final table, regardless of cards.

  • Demidov Rocks

  • it's a wonderful table

  • show me ace queen, I've got ace queen.

thats why rheem is one of the best

  • Not that amazing. He wasn't reading Eastgate. He said that just to rephrase "plz don't have a pair". Because if he gets called, he's either getting called by a pocket pair or Ace with high kicker. It's one or the other. If Eastgate doesnt' have a pair, then it's very well that Rheem is ahead.

  • Honestly, dennis philips plays good, but he is easy to read. But then again, great achievement for a non pro pokerplayer.

  • Phillips plays like ass. His call of AQ into Schwartz's QQ was horrible. What is he expecting to beat in that spot after a raise and a re-raise? Lets look at what Schwartz's range is for a re-raise: AA,KK,AK,QQ or maybe JJ. Thats it, he's not running a squeeze play with Chino in. Philips' AQ is racing only one of those hands, and getting dominated by the rest. Thats how a good player thinks. A donk sees AQ, loses he's shit and calls. The only reason he's there is cos he ran hotter than the sun

  • mtrain23 you are absolutely correct -except that I believe Phillips himself raised all-in rather than called into an all-in bet.

  • 3:42 sadiest moment of event cuz chino is my fav gosh

  • Dennis has a lot of friends.

  • wow is that stanislav alekhin at 1:04 ???!!

  • Show me AQ one time.... OOOOOPS!

  • Eastgate looks like idiot

  • its funny that ESPN tried to make it look like Hellmuth was calling Eastgate the 'idiot from northern europe'.

its a sly little marketing ploy to try and raise the importance of this final table.

  • lol well 362 compared to 6,000 is a big difference...there is a better chance of making 3rd against 362 rather than 6,000

  • wsop minus donks = wsop europe

  • wsop - donks + any-two-cards dutch, danish, and swedish players = wsope.

  • I don't see a big deal with Ivan Demidov finishing 3rd in the 2008 WSOPE.....there were only 150 entrants....

  • actually it were 362 ;)

  • was* or u can say "actually there were 362"

  • ok...

  • i suck cock

  • id like to see u make at least 100th place

  • Idiot form northern Europe? Idiot american!

  • Does anyone know who performs the music in the beginning?

  • cheeno was a suck out, I'm glad he lost with the best this time...

  • I would never beheave tihs way...I'd first of all say sorry to the other player instead of screaming in his ears--

  • 2:30 thru the rest of the tourney sucks , chino was the only good player there and happens to b my fav :P

YOU'LL GET EM NEXT YEAR CHINO!

  • word, chino is class

  • Ha chiesto AQ e l'ha ottenuto....

Povero Chino, bruttissimo perdere così, una delle peggiori bad beat....

  • "Show me AQ 1 time" oops.

Also tnx for the vids randompoker!

  • 4:33 look at that! he can smile! lol

  • idiot from northern europe XD

  • Wonder what Norman Chad means when he states that Chino was the only "established pro" remaining... Both Eastgate and Demidov where 25/50$ regs online before this...

Wouldnt that qualify as an "established pro" in most places?

  • no it wouldnt... established pro means you are sort of known throught your area, chino was.

  • 25/50$ regs online won't qualify as "established pro" when they are regs in WSOP or WPT or EPT LIVE games to be considered an established pro. Anybody with a lot of money can play 25/50$. Don't have to be a pro.

  • Chino had done well at WSOP events previously and had been around for several years while Eastgate/Demidov really didn't do anything of note until 2007/2008. They weren't very established.

  • or not old enough

  • eastgate was still a pro-player. had never played a live tourney in his life but was successful enough on the internet.

  • Not saying he wasn't a pro-player but to call him established would be quite a stretch. Lots of people can be pro players, but they are often out of the profession in a year or two.

  • True true. Dunnou about you but it makes me mad how so many people say he's an ass and stuff just because he didnt jump up and down and scream and talk a lot during hands. That just seems to be the type of guy he is but hes really nice.

  • That's just cultural differences.

I've been watching Eastgate during this SCOOP series of tourneys on PS and he generally gets the chip lead but has played too aggressive and often donked away his lead. Although, today he was actually the 3rd person to get knocked out of the main event ($10,000+ buy in). It happens though..my boy RainKhan was out a bit after Eastgate. Heck, Daniel Negreanu blew $25k in like 2 minutes (9 hands) in the SCOOP Heads up championships.

  • I know this comment is old but I just want to point out that Eastgate final tabled the Irish Poker Open in '07, so it's untrue to say he had never played a live tourney.

  • btw thanx for the many uploads randompoker (before i forget to thx you'

    gr

  • EASTGATE= 2Cool2btru! Denmark 4life !!

  • i think the snap call with ace queen is stupid!he didnt even think.that guy phillips is shit, there was only one thing the russian could have done with the jacks.Move all in and take the blinds, antes and the bet, phillips wud call a raise with KQ and he did outflop him. Also I dont think the check on the turn was a good move, it was as if he was scared of the 3. then when the king came he knew he was safe to bet and if the russian had a hand he was being forced to call.weak play in my opinion.

  • Phillips played great poker to get to the final table. Then, no doubt due in part to some so called 'expert' tuition, he tried to get clever on the final table, ended up making a massive bellend of himself and ended up being very lucky to finish as high as he did.

  • Just curious but does anyone know where I could check out the whole payscale for this event?

  • Just google 2008 WSOP payouts =]

  • Thanks Kiim

I looked for payscales but got nothing but I'll try what you said.

  • ship ship mcgipp

  • These cocksuckers didn't even notice Eastgate until the final table...

    Go figure you douchebag cocksuckers.

    I watched EVERY episode.

  • I think Phillips' check on the turn was a thing of beauty. I mean, he couldn't expect the King of the river, but he sure set up Demidov perfectly for that big score.

  • Even for his mistakes, which I believe cost him the title, I still think he made an impressive comeback.

  • ill see you there buddy

  • it wasn't a read, it was a wish "pleassse show me AQ"

and he wasn't beaten, he got bad beaten after

  • WHAT A READ BY RHEEM!!! "show me ace queen"

he should've won for that read omg impressive!

  • What a dope! If he could read, he would not have gone all in. It was not a read, it was a realization that he was beaten.

  • wow, you're not stupid are you

  • Dude, AK trumps AQ big time pre-flop...

  • Most of these young players have no personality or emotion. Boring to watch eastgate

  • so true, no expression on his face at any time :S

  • lol, this I didn't even see Peter Eastgate in the first episode. He must have been playing just the pots he felt weakness in or something like that. His pot never really moved and with the blinds it would have if he was really tight.

  • Cheeno should have been gone ages ago, his luck was bound to run out.

  • Now all the pros will whine about Rheem getting a beat, but he only made the table after putting a series of beats on others.

  • Eeee, eee, ooo! Ubba, ubba, uuuubba! LOL

  • Cheeno?!?!?! NOOOOOO!!!

  • brap brap brap brap :D

  • why does first place only win 9 million? where does all that other money they are playing with go?

  • lol. wow... you are so naive. Where do you think? they burn the cash? lol. It gets distributed amongst people who 'made the money' but most of it goes to the people who made the final table. And please dont use the word "ONLY" thats a huge understatement. "ONLY 9 MILLION", do you even have 1 million in ur bank account? lol.

  • yeah i am naive when it comes to poker on TV, sorry. i've never really watched it till now. I would think the top get gets more than "ONLY" 9 mill but i guess i asked too quickly without thinking first. my bad. and i only have 200k in my account but maybe i should play poker and become a millionaire!!!

  • kill urself please

  • simple comment from a simple man...

  • LMAO

  • haha :)

  • couple of things, since no one was respectful enough to answer your question.

The prize pool is made up of the buy-ins, $10K/person.

With ~6800 players this year, that equals a $68 million pool. Once they know those numbers, the people running the tourney redistribute the money among those who finish in the top 10% of the tourney. The higher you finish, the bigger your cut of the pool is.

And if the chip counts don't indicate that, it's because each player started w/ 20K in chips, not 10K.

  • thank you so much for that straightforward and clear answer!

  • @eljefereal

    i´d say 30k...?

  • @focckker 30k was the starting stack in 2009.

  • @eljefereal The prize pool is not the total of the buy-ins. That would mean that the organizers are left with a very high bill.

  • Comment removed

  • @alxcsb ok, 9,400 for the pool, 420 for 'entry fees', and 180 for the staff.

(i actually didn't know what the distribution was until looking it up just now)

In other words, read your buy-in terms closely.

  • @eljefereal actually they start even with 30k chips! and with 2 hours blind levels lol best tournament structure ever!

  • @blaupunkt600 um no they started with 20k, work it out

  • @eljefereal 30K :P

  • @eljefereal what do you get if you come last?

  • around 9:00 is good, i love that money :) although i'll never win the main event :P. maybe another table in the series.

  • Thanks for posting bro!

  • Phil Helmuth "Idiot poker play from Northern Europe".. how much does he regret saying that now? makes him look like a bigger fool now!

  • Phil is an ass, but Peter Eastgate is still an idiot.

an idiot with a lot of luck.

Eastgate will get eaten if this is not a tournament but cash game.

  • eaten by who? Philips?

you havent a clue what youre talking about

  • yeah if Phillips didn't win that AQ vs. QQ, I believe Schwartz would of won this to be honest. That hand took a lot of him it looks like.

  • what a great check on the turn

  • Absolutely. He redeemed himself a little bit there after the two bad moves earlier. And of course he bet a nice amount on the end as well with the Kings full. Nice hand for Dennis

  • have you noticed that eastgate hasnt played a single big hand before that AQ

  • Yea, your are right.. He is my favorite. 2 hours in train, and i can go visit him! =D

  • So far they haven't shown a single hand with Eastgate in it :(

  • did you watch this video?

    lol

  • everyone saying how disapointed they are that Chino got knocked out should remember how lucky he has got to even make the final table - if i was Chino i'd be blown away to finish 7th given how mamy suck outs he dealt throughout the tourney.

  • every1 has green eyes.
