To a 61 year old guy this is bracing. Because, while Villazon has a good voice (indeed it reminds one of Domingo's to the point of hoping he might be a successor) Domingo though decades his senior is more powerful and better sounding. The rest of the visual play is a rather bittersweet "older guy" vs. "younger guy" competition with Nebrebko in the middle of the two...but in the end the voice wins out...which is to say, Domingo (even if eligible for Social Security) wins out!!

These are actors on stage madam; they are performing and having fun... One could find evil in everything (and in every human being) if one really wants. One should try to look beyond the appearances and judge each situation in the proper context, not according to one's fantasies and prejudices. Based on appearances, one could accuse the young lady singer of lasciviousness, for instance. Calling a human being a “fart” does not show too much respect either. Better to see the logs in our own eyes.

@nanlo1 Insults are not necessary. Let me remind you that some of the GREATEST singers of the 20th century, with BIG VOICES, such as Del Monaco and Corelli (and many others) came from dire poverty. But that was back in the time where opera was more real, most verismo (properly) and when it was AN ART OF MUSIC, not just a bourgeois entertainment. When you turn it into entertainment you get AVERAGE (at best) BUT IN FACT TINY VOICES to rule the scene.

Anna, aparte de ser joven y bonita, tiene una voz muy clara, potente y agradable; no todas las cantantes poseen estas cualidades. Su voz tiene un registro fenomenal y su timbre es calido y acogedor. Ella puede ser diabólica y odiosa y te convence o tierna y amorosa y te convence tambien. Eso es ser única.

It is very interesting that Villazon sounds a whole like Placido Domingo but with a slight bit of different vocal expression. If i had just heard the audio to this I would have been fooled that it was purely Placido Domingo. and Netrebko. They sound fantastic. Especially when Netrebko hits that high note at the end.

xD Rolando and Placido are two of the funniest opera singers I have ever seen. They always make me laugh when I need a good laugh. I hope we can enjoy Placido's voice for a few more years. I have a feeling he may live into his 80s...though I don't know if he'll still sing by then. xD

Juan Diego Florez is a famous singer. In Spite of that am I not so fond of him.

I find his performances less vivid and in a way even stereotypical.

Of today's singers appeals to me, besides Villazón, Jose Cura and Jonas Kaufmann.

Of the older tenors I do very much like to listen to Mr.Björling, Mr.Gedda and Mr.Domingo.

We feel what we feel, however, it is interesting to hear others' experiences.

@ForAll23 -- I think Florez is still in the stages of maturation. He's on his way. My favorites are some who are no longer with us ...... Mario del Monaco .. Giuseppe DiStefano .... and the still living Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. My great-grandparents have their recordings which I cherish. Of course, Domingo, Jose Carreras, the late Pavarotti .... all excellent, along with the ones you mentioned.

He has a "juicy" way to sing and a beautiful wide expressing. Just listen to “core, core 'ngrAAAto". Nice pianos and excellent high tones. Mr. Stefano shows that high quality can be joined with real "fiddler joy". Not so many can do that.
