  • this is the best information so far, i have seen too many awful "tutorials" that lack information you have provided. I am now a subscriber....

  • Thank you so Much

  • LOL @ "SUPER DRUG"

  • omg i want this chi!!!!!!! i would have to have it on 4 tho cause i have VERY curly VERY thick hair. also VERY frizzy

  • I envy your hair! I WISH mine was that long!

Just a quick fact, the hair follicle is what's in your scalp, so that doesn't get touched by the iron, what does get touched by the iron is the hair shaft. :)

  • TOOL . ! Lmao . xD

  • Mexican music . lmao

  • like ur video its seems ur really nice person.... and thanks for sharing your beauty tips.... more power....

  • lolz cool

  • nice video! is the instyler okay?

  • u have the same intro music as Jlovesmac1

  • Hi.. I Love Your videos! i have a question..? what type of video edditing software do you use! its awesome! :D please!

  • i like u! u seem so nice! i might subscribe to u know! usually beauty people seem mean and dont explain anything but i like u!

  • which is good, nano-titanium iron or ceramic straighteners?

  • @gorgienina Ceramic Straightners :)) my mums a hairdresser soo yhno lol

  • nice tips, love ur hair :)

If you want a professional flat iron and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your hair.

    I hope this helps.

  • Im watching your vid for the first time

and i didnt think you were married you look young 0_0

  • Check out smaller bloggers, they aren't usually sponsored.

  • i LOOOOOVE your makeup in this video!!! do you have a tutorial for it?

  • What heat protectant do you use? Bc i recently joined the band wagon of getting my hair to a healthier state bc ive done relaxers all my life since a little girl and now my natural hair is here and sooo horrible :( im gonna be cutting off the ends little by little to im left with my natural hair. I bought the tresseme heat tamer spray and i find that it leaves my hair oily. and god knows i dont need that lol So wat can u reccomend? :D thanks!

  • I am forwarding this to my sister. She's crazy about having stick straight hair that doesn't move, so she flat irons it with NO heat protector (event though I bought her one) and then she uses like half a bottle of hair spray.

Needless to say, her hair is so damaged and frizzy she looks like a white girl with a afro.

  • you think your hair looks frizzy?

you should see mine before it gets straightend

  • I think I'm convinced that I need a good flat iron now! Thanks - you explain things so well, love all your videos

  • Your smile is so pretty.

  • wow when i saw the picture of ur husband my jaw dropped, he looks JUST like Jesse James.

  • Thanks, I have been needing a new flat iron

  • love it! ur so helpful!

can u pls do a tutorial on how to create loose curls with a straightener? i really need help with that cuz whenever i do that i only get this one weird bump and the rest of my hair is just straight.

  • A good straightener is so very important so it is necessary to spend a little more to get something that works the right way. I've had cheap ones and they super suck. I want a better one now but my bedhead will do until I have more money.

  • I have super curly hair, and the few times i do manage to straighten it, i get major static at the roots and front of my hair. Do you have any solutions for that? :)

  • this was helpful :) I always straighten my hair how you said not to straighten it because it's damaging lol

  • I KNOW that for straighteners, cheap just isn't going to give you as good of a finsihed product as a more expensive straightener will. I've had 3 CHI's however, all well over $100 and they all eventually just stopped working after a yea or two. I don't even straighten my hair everyday! The last CHI I had stopped working after 3 weeks. I don't mind an expensive price, but I AM looking for a little bi more durability. any suggestions?

  • @alannamusical96 The GHD is extremely expensive (about $250) but it is SO worth it. It has better durability than the Chi, and in my and a lot of other opinions, straightens better than the chi and keeps it straight for longer. If you already spend a lot on straighteners, I'd definitely try for a GHD. You won't waste your money buying other straighteners a year down the road, so it is a good investment :)

  • @alannamusical96 t3!!!

  • Sarah, I think you're great and I always enjoy your tutorials especially the Halloween ones. You're so creative and beauty is your career and you know best because of the knowledge that you gained through your study and work experiences. I completely agree with choosing a higher end, better quality hair straightener. I don't think many think that way. If you love something you will invest in it. Having better tools will yield better results. Love Ya!

  • Some people may be offended by this. It seems like you are shunning those who cannot afford a "higher end" straightener. And honestly, In my professional opinion, there isn't one right way to straighten your hair.

  • @SchmessicaJessica She wasn't shunning anyone, she was just giving her professional opinion in an attempt to give the best advice. Personally, I cannot really afford the higher price products either, but I forked the cash over for a CHI about 4 years ago and it still works perfectly. And though there may not literally be a "right" way to straighten your hair, the method she used in the video does provide the best results with the least amount of damage...as someone with curly hair...she's right.

  • I use a GVP from SallyBeayty. I can't pay $200 plus for a straightener.

  • your husband is soo cute! gorgeous couple you two :DD loved the toturial

  • Wow,that was quite helpful,thx (:

  • i do love when u talk on them videos so if u ever stop ... ; ) joke tho great tutorial when u showed how not to straighten the hair i was like ' damn! i do that ' haha ;D maybe ull get me to stop ; )

  • love your videos! so informative and you're so funny :) keep up the good work. i can tell all your opinions are genuine and you do it for your subscribers. thanks!

  • all your vid's are great, if you sponsor or get freebies.. why not show us , the consumer what is out there. I would if I was in your position. keepdoing what your doing. Love the tutorials weather is makeup, hair, nails, tanning, etc... KUDOS.

  • I'm in the same boat as you with the fine/a lot of hair and your husband loving it straight. My fiance loves it to. My hair is fine and I have so much of it, but it is naturally wavy as well. So i usually blow dry it straight and then straighten it. I have the Chi with the pink and purple flames on it -- and it does straighten my hair but with humidity (we just moved from PIttsburgh, PA to Daytona, FL) it doesn't STAY straight. I would love to straighten it more often for him -- any suggestions?

  • She is so cute.

  • Wow i always do the mistake of continually brushing the flat iron in the same spot...

  • The promo code does not work =(

  • Love the intro!! (music)

  • all my high end straighteners that i bought did NOT work. they all broke. fast. so i don't even bother buying those anymore. i buy the cheap ones and those work way better.

  • CUTE♥♥

  • 3 inches won't do for me!

  • Yes, your husband is very cute and good looking! You are gorgeous and you two look wonderful together! We have missed you Sarah...please do more videos!♥♥

  • oh & yes there r ppl like me who duno how to straighten hair i dont use anything cuz my hair is naturaly straight but i enjoyed this video a lot & she gave away great tips as well !

  • Wow. Thanks Sarah. I have really thick, and curly hair, and the way I was straightening my hair is probably the reason why it is damaged and frizzy. Thanks so much for pointing that out.

  • i love the intro applause HAHAHA u're so funny sarah! i love u !

  • your hair is so lovely. ps i love your engagement ring! :p

  • I don't know if anyone has noticed this at all, but the news on a national level, are recognizing these beauty guru's for doing "Haul Videos." I think it was about 2 to 3 weeks ago when Good Morning America had a segment on YouTube Beauty Guru's doing Haul videos, and talking about companies sending these guru's products in exchange for a review. This particular subject even made my local news. Woke up one morning to Elle and Blair on TV. This is the direction it has taken for sure! <3ya Sarah!

  • I don't care where or from whom you get your product as long as their honest opinions... I am usually willing to try almost anything and a lot of times my purchases are based on how genuine the review is. Thanks for taking the time to make this video, we don't pay you for your services so a free item here and there is nothing compared to if we'd all have to pay a fee so thanks again!

  • do you have to use a heat protectant SPRAY? Because I have the Loreal heat activated heat protectant cream....Is there a difference?

  • Hey what heat protectant are you using? also what would you recommend to give my hair alot more volume. I have the exact same hair type as you and I've always found it so hard to style.

  • hahah i honestly dont care weather the product wuz free or not lol i just want a good and honest tutorial and a review.....oh and great vid :)

  • nice tutorial..and wow..people are freaking cause of the free products eh..whatever..i prefer it..cause its not like all of the gurus would go out and buy each and every tool or color from each company..its nice to see different reviews of different things! :D people just need to trust you guys and thank you for putting your opinion of the products out there..thanks for the tutorial..looking forward to seeing what you're gonna do with the straight hair look

  • @vykyvt people will always find a reason to complain.

  • whoops! i straighten my hair the wrong way :/

  • you think your hair is frizzy? it's gorgeous. before straightening my hair it looks like i licked a power socket ha :)

  • What's better? CHI or GHD?

In the UK we all use GHD.

Could I get CHI anywhere in the UK, or off the net?

  • dude all the rude people need to go. she's just showing us the RIGHT way to do this...just because you're probably doing it wrong, dont get mad at her. and shes not trying to show off the new products she gets. shes showing us whats out there. so i vote ALL RUDE PEOPLE SHOULD LEAVE!

***keep doing what your doing Sarah! i come on Youtube everyday to see you YOU made a video..you are my favorite. dont let these stupid people bother you!***

  • Thanks for that. I do the pull through quickly method and I also put the heat protectant in at the beginning all over. Boo-boos galore for me!

  • My husband loves my hair curly and it's straight! lol MEN, they always want what they don't have! haha!

  • No After picture?! I love how your hair curls at the bottom, so cute!

  • is that a new tattoo on your wrist? It's awesome

  • i love my dove heat protectant(which makes my hair shiny too) and my ghd straighteneres!

  • my hair curls I can't stand it when I straighten it (and it still curls) because it goes in funny positions and it makes me feel like it did it wrong lol. but if I do it for too long it dry's my hair to much no matter WHAT products I use it with, and I use good products :) :)

  • @ShesThe1yup I heard beautychoice has been caught selling fake GHD's which suprised me because I have brought from them before, but it is on some sort of list that they have sold fake GHD's.

  • Yeah, your husband is really cute! :-)

Just like you! Lovvvvve your videos! Thank you for this! <3

  • great video! :)

  • Sarah, what happen? You didn't show us the after pictures. lol

  • you're always so cute!

  • Are Chi straighteners better than GHDs then?

  • thank you for telling girls to stop clamping on their hair 10 times for one section!

  • omg i hate when girls "straighten" there hair and its still kinda wavy and all curly in the back AHHHHHH drives me crazy!!!!!!Thanks for puting up a vid on how to do it the right way lol.

  • @lmfaolol9 hahahaha!! thats my biggest pet peeve!! i hate when they do the side realy nice and your like wow you'r hair looks great then you see the back and it's a mess !! ugh i hate that !!!!

  • cool vid... kind of what we always do... no? not everyone?? lol....

Anyways it gives me chance to ask something I've been meaning to ask... can you recommend a straightening iron that is not very wide but long and not terribly expensive but GOOD??? Thanks so much!

(and don't pay attention to the ppl giving you shit for getting stuff... it's the perk that comes with the unpaid job LOL)

  • i was meaning to buy a new flat iron. and plus with your tip on a good brush/comb tool too. yeh. i will take you up on that. i usually just use my fingers to comb thru lol and yes you/your hub are too cute

  • your videos look very professional.

and i really like how you structured it.

great tips and thank you! :)

  • Didin't know you were married! He's cute!

  • i was always told to use a comb to separate your hair so that the straighter gets to every strand and it will help keep the hair in place so it dosent ban off and pull and brake

  • I like the salsa intro. It reminds me of the fact that after I spend almost an HOUR to straighten my hair it never stays straight for more than an hour. My husband also likes my hair straight, but I hate fussing with it becasue its super wavy!!

  • So should I put the straightener at a low temperature setting and go over the hair multiple times? or select a higher setting and go over it once?? Thanks for the video Sarah!! :)

  • hey sarah. i thinks its totally cool that you get stuff for free but can you put in your disclaimer if you were payed or not? i think that would very helpful in saving my money and many viewers.

  • Love your videos Sarah!

  • It fries your hair if you let the flat iron dry the heat protectant. You need to wait and let it dry for it to do its job properly

  • I'm glad you're blond again. It makes you look a lot friendlier.

  • Ummm honestly I like the video and I dont really mind that you showed us the straightener and/or the heat protector stuff because I personally think that if the product wasnt good then you wouldnt show it to us. I am interested on how that straightener would work with my hair because I seen how awsome it did with your hair and oooo look the information to go check it out is already up here for people like me who like to check things out before you buy them. Think people before you jump on her.

  • What heat protectant do you recommend? I'm looking for something I can put in dry hair, because mine is naturally super-curly, so if I have to put heat protectant in wet hair then I have to blow dry it before straightening, and I'd rather avoid brutalizing my hair. : (

  • you are so so so gorgeous!

    :)

  • I thought your not supposed to run the straightner slowly beacuse it will burn it?

  • @theNaturalbeauty007 i think that would only happen if you stopped the straightener on your hair. plus she isnt going super slow just slow enough to straighten it. :)

  • that's funny, my husband likes my hair curly. I have natural curly hair! what do you recommend using for a nice gloss and finishing product after you are done straightening your hair.

  • @malteasertot.....I get what you're saying, but I think as long as the tutorial is relevant and helpful to the public, then it doesn't really matter what specific device or product they use. Even if you don't care to by that product, you can still get something out of the tutorials (like technique, etc).

  • @pvelaz78 I 100% agree! I said that I think the videos are still as helpful and amazing as ever. It doesn't phase me at all how a product is acquired, I just see a growing trend of alot of Guru's using mostly free products in the majority of their videos and I'm afaid it will take the passion and love out of making videos, but I definately agree with what you say, and for the most part I don't care if the videos are great (like Sarah's)

  • and concentrate most on the ends when spraying the heat protection..since your ends are the most vulnerable part of your hair to heat

  • Sarah you are so gorgeous! I love watching your videos! when can we see more make up videos?Much love!

  • uh, i don't have money so i bought the wet to straight remington, and it's the only straightener that will straighten my hair well.

  • great vid x

  • aww, you and ur husband are soo cute! lol good video, too(:

  • @malteasertot If you feel frustrated about that, then start making videos and be as good as sarah to get free products, don't bother her

  • @caravril you can have your opinions and i can have mine, that's fine i totally see where you're coming from.. just don't start a fight when i hadn't said anything to you to begin with! i wasnt saying it in a bitchy way i'm just sayin i liked it better when the beauty community here on youtube wasnt driven by money or free products

  • @malteasertot Sorry to lose you as a subscriber, but the YouTube Beauty community is expanding. If you watch all the beauty guru videos we usually get a ton of product for free. It hurts no one. It lets us try new things, let the viewers see the new products and at times it even allows the guru to do a give away to benefit the viewer. Again, sorry to see you go but that's the direction the community is heading in.

  • @SarahVictor i'm not bothered at all that you're getting products for free or that any guru does, you guys deserve it for all the hard work it takes to make videos, it's just that the only videos i see these days are sponsored... and it just seems to me that it's the only reason the video is made in the 1st place, again this is my opinion and it's fine if it differs from yours.. it's just how alot of people will perceive it too

  • @malteasertot I can see how and why you think that way. If it was something that I just want to get paid for I would do a 3 minute video and plug the product and not to a tutorial. This is just a side step to the real tutorial. I wanted to show how to straighten hair properly and the flat iron was one of the products I was sent. Made sense to me to incorporate it in this video. I try to balance out the videos from companies with makeup tutorials.

  • @SarahVictor I'm happy you can see where i'm coming from and I also do see your side. I never meant to come onto this video and have comments back and forth with anyone.. I was only giving an opinion and I'm well aware that not everyone will agree with mine, I know that. You're videos are still as amazing as ever. So everybody should just agree to disgree

  • @malteasertot Ummm, here's an easy answer for you. If you want to stay in the beauty community, educate yourself to know when you're watching an infomercial. You don't have to buy any of the products, but you can learn from their video's, then use your own products.

  • @Purrrsuasive1 that's great advice thanks :)

  • @malteasertot I don't think there was anything bad or wrong about this comment :)

  • @SarahVictor AND IT SUCKS!

  • @malteasertot I think you didn't understand... I wasn't starting a fight, but anyway as you said, you and I, we have our own opinions... And I respect yours, so you might understood what I said as bitchy as I understood yours, and... the place where I come from?, don't worry sweety I don't have any problem with that ;) haha

  • Great Tutorial LOVE watching all your tutorials :-) WOW your hubbie is very CUTE LOL

  • you look so beautiful !!!

  • i'm so stupid i been doing the wrong thing when straighten my hair :(

  • you and your husband are such a beautiful couple! :) great video, sarah.
