No, I use a Peavey Stereo Chorus 212 transistor amp with the modelling for the AC30 for the Vox type sounds. I do now have a Vox AC30 but I'm still trying to make the GT6 sound decent through it.

In all the live versions of Pride I've heard, whether it be Rattle & Hum, the Slane Castle DVD or the Seattle concert I went to during the Zoo TV tour, it seemed the Edge never quite re-captured the "wide open" sound of the original studio cut. 

You do an outstanding job of capturing that sound of the studio cut in this effort. 5 stars.

great job, i got a gt 8 and play a strat myself but i just cant get that edge "twang" from my guitar, can u help me please, i actually met the edge (im from dublin myself) and asked him how do i get it and he just smiled at me, the delay speed and that i have worked out but just the tone when he picks a string is it the bass middle and treble i need to set right or what? please help me its killing me. cheers mate.

Hi. The actual Edge 'twang' or 'chime' is created by using the blue Herdim teardrop picks and striking the string with it upside-down using the little grip bumps. This creates the sound you are looking for. You can get away with most sounds if you use these picks. Take care.

Great sound man, really nice. As an Edge/U2 afficionado of more than 25 years, and with a rack pretty much as big as the man himself now (yep, a LOT of gear acquired and money spent to emulate the classic 1985 touring rig he had and bits of the 87 one) this is a bloody top effort :) I also realised the other day my top 2 guitarists are both Daves (Dave Evans, aka Edge, and David Gilmour of Pink Floyd...)

no problem. I have heard other people do U2 covers both on the drums, and guitar but they don't hold a candle to you. It seems like they would rush the tempo and it would sound off. The rhythm to me is what is so captivating and you nailed it. I will talk to you later.

I just stumbled on to your videos a couple of days ago and I would agree with all of the positive feedback attached to all of your videos. I completely agree with your take on how "Streets" and "Pride" are guitar riffs that are good for the soul.

Have you tried any of Edge's solos from "Bullet"? Dallas (Edge's guitar tech) has always said that "Bullet" is his favorite part of every show since he's not sure Edge is going to play the solo that night.

I've just bought the U2 18 song book and am trying to do Pride. My budget isn't huge and I was wondering if there are any ways to achieve the delay effect without the Boss Gt-6?

Hi there. Any delay can achieve this, just get the cheapest you can afford to start with. It's more down to getting the millisecond timings, level and feedback right than what type of delay you use. I'd love to have delay with modulation that gives a great Edge like delay but the digital delay within the GT-6 is all I have. Google 'cheap delay pedal' and see what's around. Thanks!!
