@michaeldonegan From Chile, thanks for this video. It shows a beautiful moment with John Denver. It was in those horrible days that we lived in Pinochet dictatorship: at the time, JD came and made us happy with his music and his overflowing talent. A detail: with this song JD closed the 2nd. concert that he presented in Viña 1985 (he talkes about this in 4:31). For his performance, he received 2 torches of silver (a prize that the audience gives to the artists). Regards and again, thank you.
@jbfletcher29 Oh my goodness! You guys were under a dictatorship? is that why he was only allowed to come 1 time? wow. There is this sad feeling when i listen to this song; it's probably because your totalitarian government was making you guys so isolated--and his music was was like a bright little light to you. Talent comes from where God is --- he was showing you guys how freedom feels! bittersweet.
What an unbelievable video. I was six years old at the time, living in Chile watching this on TV, I had NO idea who John Denver was. Now I'm a huge fan, living in his country of birth.
Unbelievable video!! Thank you so much for posting this!!! What a gem this is....John will never be forgotten. I feel his presence is just getting larger and larger as time goes by!!! WE will always have John's music. That's a blessing in itself....
That was awesome! I don't know how you get this stuff Michael, but it is great! That audience was so enthusiastic and he responded with the most spirited performance of TGIACB that I have ever seen. I love the final WooHoo! at 3:16! What fun!! Then to see him say that this was the warmest and most enthusiastic audience he ever played for was heart warming. Muchas Gracias!
No matter WHERE your from, music speaks the same language!
