Hi - That's the one from Force cars near Didcot isn't it?? (I work at the power plant) I wanted it, but didn't have space for it. Go easy on the batteries, charge them often and do short trips to start with, don't be tempted to 'see how far it will go as that could kill the batteries before they're back to strength, I'd love to see it again, are you far from Didcot?? C:-))
It is the one from Force Cars... and it is big... I can understand, space is an issue ;)
The charger it came with was killing the batteries, so I dont use it... and made a new one that trickle chargers them with massive voltage spikes to massage them. I could'nt do 2 miles before, now I can do 5+ and still maintain half charge... as you say, I dont want to damage them anymore than they are already ;) The leisure batteries are amazing!
I imagine that we'll all be better off when the newer types of batteries take the place of our hundred plus years old types. I don't know how long the manufacturers expect us to keep buying regular lead acid when there are clearly better ones now available. I suppose they'll keep making them as long as we keep buying them, right?
The bad news is ExxonMobil is the single largest holder of battery patents - but see, they make too much money selling us gasoline (petrol) every week, so if the world crumbles into the dark ages they will not care. Wealthy kings had it pretty good in the Dark Ages.
On that subject: Fuel cells are yet another way for big energy companies to supply us with something we 'need' (no trains here, across the pond). Fuel cells take the place of batteries. Batteries can be charged anywhere.
However, I could hardly hear and/or comprehend anything you had to say about it due to the music in the background.
When you've had a few days to check it over I would be interested in "hearing" what you have to say about it in general; and, more specific details as to power available, speed, range, etc.
Hi Charlie, sorry about the music, I mumble too much ;)
Range is suppost to be 50miles on new batteries. Speed is suppost to be 30mph but I've only acheived 35kmh, which is fast enough thanks to a little play in the steering. Brakes are poor, but it has been stood. Water was pissing in where the 6 roof aerials used to be. I'll take some more pics and video before nature makes it green! Overall its amazing and I'm pleased with my purchase. Its warmer than the house!
Yep... 6 months and the guy couldnt sell it... I cant believe my luck. The only problem I had thought about was not having 3 phase electric for the charger... My mated poked his head inside the charger and discovered it was single phase. Bought a 100amp breaker, wire it in the morning and the enterprise is ready for her first voyage with a new captain...
maybe i could hera you if the music wasnt so loud

@waterboost : If we turn the volume down, then we can't hear the narration, dufuss! We don't need music, just the facts.

@waterboost Just to let you know - if the volume is turned down then the speaker can't be heard. Did you not know this?

Hey,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
I imagine that we'll all be better off when the newer types of batteries take the place of our hundred plus years old types. I don't know how long the manufacturers expect us to keep buying regular lead acid when there are clearly better ones now available. I suppose they'll keep making them as long as we keep buying them, right?
Well, take it easy, and have a good one.
