I watched the video and it looks as though there were two strike, the initial kick to the face and then a follow up punch (when you see the dudes head hit the window). The strikes, especially the second one, was quite hard and could well have been the reason these guys would not want to anger this dude further. Plus, beating up a Japanese dude in Japan in a crouded subway train would have been real stupid! Loved the Japanese lesson by the way. I am learning Cantonese and Mandarin at the moment.
