@sydsins My son was born without a voice box or vocal cords. When he was about 2 yrs old they did a surgery to build his airway. They used his own rib to make his trachia. She found a paralyzed half vocal cord when she cut into some meat that was diformed. He has literally tought himself by the GRACE OF GOD and my beautiful older sons, ex husband, ex nurse and I to try to speak. He is amazing!
Really helpful video my son Timothy was born June 10, 2011 he has been in the Nicu, and now the Picu since he has been we are now at cooks childrens hospital in fort worth our son had a g-tube and may have to get a trache next we are very nervous.

i have one but not the same size and ties , i was born a premature 3 months earlier and i couldnt breathe on my own.

He has a trach because he was born with a partial trachea. He has had 2 open hearts. He also has lung disease.
