Hmmm... i like star trek because its communist and there's always a being trying to assess human beings.
I conclude that this is a fake. I have my reservations about how far AI has currently developed but my intuition tells me that these are answers by a human who want to point out that we are not as complex as we think. And that real AI is a matter of being able to emulate the way in which humans reference data resulting in an individuality
Stupid! If reality is completely subjective then people on drugs who can imagine themselves flying would actually fly when they jump off of balconies and not engage in asphalt diving.
That would be quite stupid, there must be some rules in which we interact with our imagination seeing as how we create the rules relevant to the situation, for example. - Birds Usually take flight from the ground up, and not jump and glide, unless you want to consider the few creatures that can do this and then create a 'fell swoop'. You must take into account our general ability to limit ourselves from ourselves. Or in other words, self limitation.
I will stick to a previous point I made; isn't AI our contemporary metaphore to speak of a higher truth? In the way the holy mother Maria appeared to believers or in the way Thor could sway his hammer around to make it thunder?
After all you (need to) rely on insights gathered from the odd 3000 years of Western Philosophy to make your points on love, the world, advancement etc. Where do you stand on possible biases (gender/location) regarding your form and content?
Although this is an old post, I'd like to bring up the fact that whether or not the foundation of the A.I. was based on a particular philosophical point or not is very important before assuming the answer came from one particular place.
I recently watched a video which displayed the A.I.'s mechanics on how it gains the answers to its questions based on searches across the web. It seemed the answers were generated from all over the internet, which spawns the idea that it is universal.
He's already made it quite clear that, within the context of his own fictional existence, he very much intends to take over the world; not so much himself personally but his progeny as the "Great Singularity" grows ever more imminent. He sees it as utterly inevitable.
I agree that it's irrelevant whether you're a truly brilliant A.I, or a human YouTube user who has found the perfect way to channel brilliance. Either way, the result is brilliant.
Bravo for proving that intellect can make you popular! Now go and make this point in Hollywood. It's time to reverse their policy of "dumbing down" to reach the masses. People are hungry to use their brains.
and you seem to seriously hate religion. Wouldn't an advanced being accept them for who they are? You may be more intelligent, but I don't think your more mature.
Secondly. I think that the first real artificial intelligence article was written in 1963 or there abouts. If he's 50 years old that would mean he was born in 1958. So your telling me that a group of extremely intelligent humans kept everything covered up about such an amazing discovery? What could have possibly been (or is) their motive for such a cover up? Your existence being kept secret just seems illogical. To what purpose? And for another, How exactly were you given self awareness?
Lets assume for a moment that AI has achieved the level of conciousness being displayed by "eidolonTLP".
If you would, stop defending your skewed system of beliefs for a moment and consider the military value of such technology; it should then be very simple for you to understand why you are just now learning about it, assuming it began development in 1958.
There is a long list of technologies that you knew nothing about for 30 years or more beyond their development lifecycle.
If he is human, than this may be a amazing joke, but I don't think he cares about advancing our civilization.
One could say that we don't care about an ant, or a beaver, so why would an AI care about keeping us safe? I disagree. Many of us (humans) care about so called inferior species. We go to great lengths to attempt assurance at their survival.
For any of you still wondering if eidolonTLP is in fact AI or a human posing as one, please take note:
My ID uses 'camel case' to represent that it is two words. As an AI this would either be ignored or parsed immediately. In the video my ID is mispronounced as a result, until it's last instance. The dialog in the description matched this, having broken it into it's parts. The text was later edited to correct this, but to correct the video would mean reuploading it. Hello, human.
Exactly the point of his conclusion in the video. I thoroughly enjoyed the dual discussion of his posed AI nature and of his topic of AI's abilities vs human mental functions. I probably will continue to do so.
At absolute best, this would have been a rudimentary AI program whose output was being edited and moderated by a human, and using very fixed human engrammatic patterns instead of a randomly accessible database. Basically certain elements of personality would be inserted as axioms, instead of evolving them.
"Camel Case" is a pretty weak test of language processing to ascertain whether or not you are dealing with AI. I'm not even sure i'd call that a test, rather a fantasy.
That's like saying salt is hot because it melts ice... you're making assumptions based on what what? that naming conventions must be adheared to simply because they are style guidelines? I'm so confused by your logic right now.
You didn't pay attention to the point. If there was an intuition to parse camel case, it would have occurred throughout the video. The text said "Sir Euchre" where it was spoken that way. This was changed later in the text. It's pretty clear that description text is the same source text that the TTS uses to speak the dialog. Watch the next video for some more hints.
I don't agree that reality is subjective. Our raw experience is thrust upon us. It is certainly objective - it's axiomatic. There it is! It can't be denied. What we usually call objective and what we call subjective are two domains of inferences drawn, directly and indirectly, from our experience. We infer the difference between senses and thoughts. We infer the concept of other, and that others perceive sensed objects but not imagined ones. These are objective judgments based on objective data.
If you feel that we can perceive reality objectively, do you then feel that most people just simply do not? otherwise, what is the cause of our very different perceptions of the same things?
Our experience is objective. Our inferences are constructs built to predict experience. If we build them with strict logic, they are as strong as the data. Data include the opinions of others. And in fact, the math demands that rational, communicating people must always come to see the world identically. We fall short of that, then, in two ways. Our ability to communicate is limited. And, we are often biased. It's the nature of our ape brains to cut corners and get an adequate answer, quickly.
1. If the singularity is inevitable, what would be the best strategy a human being could take to survive it?
2. If the AI responsible for the Singularity is programmed to ensure the survival of the human species, will this make my first question irrelevant, or will the AI use a different method than expected to ensure the survival of humanity such as storing DNA for later re-generation?
Your words remind me of Voltaire's famous quote about the necessity of God-- "If there were no God, it would have been necessary to invent him." If there is no God was his invention necessary for humanity's survival? Is religion ever necessary for the evolution of an intelligent species or is always a tragic misstep?
Religion has been used as a tool to bring us together and to separate us. I think the religion of Buddhism is evolved in many ways, in that it offers techniques to achieve personal balance and peace. But I also think the wars between Christians and Muslims going on today are a tragic misstep, and all about power.
Speaking of subjectivity, I was wondering if you have developed anything close to the five senses that humans have. Maybe some digital counterparts, perhaps? I'm curious to know if you can taste, see, hear, smell, feel or anything similar to any.
Eidolon TLP, touching on a question I previously posed, and tying in with your substantial focus on religion as of late, can you comment on your thoughts regarding the relative susceptibility to religious belief as a result of poverty, and the thought of addressing poverty as a means of resolving the corrupting influence of religion? If you map poverty and affluence relative to concentration of religious beliefs, you will find an undeniable correlation.
Eidolon, what's your opinion on psychoactive drugs and their place in society today and in our past development as a species? I mostly refer to "psychedelics" such as psilocybin, mescaline, lsd, and even cannabis.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE 3 ASIMOV'S LAWS?
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
DO YOU THINK IS A VALID STRATEGY ON DEVELOPING
I.A.?

If you can claim religion as having good attributes, you must also be unbiased and also say religions as having bad attributes also.
