It works the abs, specifically the love handles. Works the abs at a different angle. Try it and you will feel all of the muscles involved. Very effective exercise.
I wouldn't use dumbbells to do this exercise. Use a bar and do it slowly. Keep your head looking straight. Do it slowly and really feel it.
You never really want to use weights to to abdominal work. Only light weight on some exercises. When you are trying to reduce your waist size, the last thing you want to do is increase muscle size. The object is to work the abs from many angles. This is what is great about this exercise.

I've heared that you should look the opposite way you are twisting to...
and if you raise your foot trying to meet you arm works better
and last but but no least...you should hold your possition twisted for 3-5 seconds

this one is meant to be fast!!
otherwise you will look like a jackass in the gym.
Maybe he did it to show the proper movement, i dunno but he certainly looks like he wants to kill someone haha... SMH!!

THNX man i tried it at the gym yesterday and its feeling good when you do like 20 reps. is it good when you have the dumbbells in your hand?
