  • Looks gooooood!

  • Plssoff Lukevash..This is a beautiful hifi !! and complete with the origonal Akai Rack cabinet with the seperates fixing brackets ! i'm currently restoring one as we speak,i've repaired the cassette deck and amp,but the tuner is completely dead,i think the main transformer is gone..Anyone in UK got any to sell ?? Tuner i'm looking for is AT-V04,amp i've got is AM-U04,and cassette deck is GX-M10,All have flouresant display..

  • Great AKAI setup. I have a number of excellent AKAI pieces as well.

Ah, the POPCORN tune from the 1970's. This is probably the father of all modern electronica music heard today.

  • best machine forever,i have this receiver at home

  • best machine ever

  • what is the name of the audio track playing in this video

  • @jamesbvideos - The name of the track was famously known as 'POPCORN'

  • ....why are people calling this vintage?? shit if this is vintage then i must be fucking old hahaha

  • @lukevash Because this tower is made in 1978 - 32 years ago. There are some differences between people and electronic machines. :)

  • @FerroChrom oh i see hmm i would not call it ventage though but then again im not with the times anymore 20 years to old

  • I love vintage,it's much better then that crappy shit of today.

  • Ultimate version song Jean Michel Jarre

    I lowe akai line

  • A tape player mother fucker? Ha ha ha ha ha.

  • shut up, your defenitly not an audio lover. old stuff like this is worth a lot these days

    vintage audio rules!

  • No, you shut up. That tape player is not worth much; what the fuck are you talking about? No self-respecting "audio-lover" woud listen to a tape player, 8-track, etc.

  • I love AKAI VUmeters!

  • What speakers are you using?

  • vintage cassette decks are amazing contrary to what many believe as obsolete.

no way! i personally know oldschool will always be superior.

    great equipment. sinc,jay

  • whjeres the EQ, cd player, turntable and reel to reel?

  • Super Hifi Tower!

    Original soundtrack:

    gerson kingsley - popcorn

  • Very very nice pieces....i have de cs-M02 deck and the only difference betwen yours and mine are de VU-meters....

  • That's when purchasing stereo equipment really meant something. Not the pisspot material you see out today.

  • Nothing better than vintage audio!!!

  • nice oldschool! I have an akai amplifier, 25 watts and it's better than any rotel or marantz

  • ah yeah

    what model you got?

  • depends on exactly ,what rotel and marantz you are comparing it too.

  • simply Akai

  • Nice set. Akai really made nice stuff in those days. Their cassettedecks and r2r recorders rocked and the amps weren't half bad either. The music is a bit too eighties for me, but it seems to sound good :)

  • Cool amplifier!! love the song!! Where can i download it????

  • Made back when Akai meant something special.

  • [tune] Hot butter - popcorn

  • SOO COOL stereo! And I love that song!

  • I miss the textile feel of the controls of old Hi-Fi equipment. Every thing now a days have tiny little buttons that feel mushy.

  • Right!

  • I agree.

  • Agree 100%

  • DUDE! what speakers are you running?

  • hey what the model of this tape deck ?

  • I have that same amp setup with a pair of B&W bookshelf speakers. Do you thinks that amp would ruin that set of speakers if I ran it at full power? Not full volume. Thanks

  • There's something great about old audio equipment. Perhaps its the analogue meters.

  • That's the M + H Band, the original version was written by Gershon Kingsley on his 1969 album Music to Moog By. Kraftwerk have never performed or recorded Popcorn.

Possibly the most missattributed tune ever!

  • I luv that tune!!!!!

  • I love old audio gear!
