In the part at 0:44 where Joe Jackson's vocals start you really get to me man, excellent work. With this video you've single-handedly proven the synth-bass to be redundant!
dude that was baddass. i can't play bass but i can appreciate how difficult that must have been to play. i'd like to make a request, "valley girl" by moon zappa, "bust a move" by young mc and anything from white zombie or 311. keep it up bro. you inspired me to take lessons.
The best riff anyone can do on this song has just been proven this man. I truly enjoyed it. btw, are you using the thumb and pointer finger or the middle and pointer fingers with the right?
dude you need to practice those octaves.. i know it can be tiring on the hand. you are fumbling a lot. just need to practice more and it'll sound better.
@silverbree No, but I found a reasonable Guitar Pro tab that I used as a base for it (it's on Ultimate Guitar). It's all octaves, starting on F# (2nd fret of the E string, or 7th of the B in my case). If it helps, the main riff progression is F# / B / C# / F# (1 octave up) / C# / B / F# - and you need the B string to do it justice, otherwise it's just about impossible to keep up.
A1. One of my fave basslines even if it is a little "Disco-Octavy".

@kingcountersteer Thanks. I certainly didn't expect to inspire anyone, so that means a lot! I'll have a look at the songs you mentioned.

@elmyrdehory @elmyrdehory Sorry: F# / B / C# / F# / C# / B / C# is the actual progression.
