  • DEVO and Miami vice do go together well...Going under was an awsome tune...Devo symbolises The future and technology in two differant lights. Remember...Duty now for the future..Wich is exactly what crocket and tubbs were doing and what the 1980's were doing..

  • I Remember Heading Out To Party Like This, Minus The Gun and The Cool Car

  • devo and miami vice do not go together well.

  • Lol devo.

  • what happened with the watch? one time on then off, and even a change of mode!?

  • @Gman11235 Two men, two watches

  • @malakatandrunas Actually he's right. Crockett's watch is on, then off. And it you look at the strap carefully, it keeps changing from gold to gold/black

  • @Gehirnstrudel ps: source of info = wikipedia

  • @Gehirnstrudel it wasnt the real Daytona, it was a kit replica based on a 1980 Chevrolet Corvette C3, and because of it, Enzo Ferrari filed a lawsuit demanding that McBurnie and others cease producing and selling Ferrari replicas. As a result, the fake Ferraris were removed from the show, with Ferrari donating two brand new Testarossas as replacements.

  • awesome scene from miami vice. getting ready to go out for a late night meeting. putting on the rolex, cologne, gold chains, money clip, ferrari warmed up. great song.

  • I guess, dat's phone model is Motorolla

  • this scene = ubercool

  • I wish they would bring MV back again because it was the best TV show there ever was! Nobody ever had the music and film put together in such a way in a regular television show the way Miami Vice did. Although the original actors couldn't perform in the same capacity in a new remake, they could show them in higher positions being brought back together to head up a new division in order to combat some old problems.

I would love to see this in production again, but done RIGHT.

  • that was the first time where crockett and tubbs going to a undecover-operation together...legendary

  • Picture it 1985 a bunch of kids going to the quincy fair, a boom box for a radio this song blastin in the back seat I remember it like it was yesterday.

  • przezajebisty kawałek wraz z niesamowitą sceną tworzą coś co oglądam i słucham średnio 14 razy w miesiącu,

to nagranie do auta, latem zniszczyło mi głowe i portfel

  • RAD AMAZING LOADED WITH EMOTIONAL CONTENT

  • Este tema es único. Real Devo.

  • 80s was the coke and goodfellas times! fucking brilliant

  • Can't go wrong with that soundtrack! Devo, baby!

  • the phone is a cobra /or a uniden

  • what a piece of art!

  • I remember this! Haha...my brother had me record it onto VHS because we both loved this scene. We thought it was sooo cool with Devo's song.

  • OOooh... A Bren Tenn o_O I like Bren Ten's... Just like I love his S&W 645... Quite simply beautiful guns

  • awesome.

  • For such a mainsteam show to pick a obscure (but good) Devo song is mindblowing. Sorry, I just can't see Don Johnson going to a Devo concert,.

  • Comment removed

  • Very cool, I think the episode was Heart of Darkness, which aired straight after the pilot.

  • was this an actual episode with this song??? its fuckin brilliant!!!!!

  • Yes, it was.

  • what is the name of this episode!!!

  • The 2nd one I believe. Ed O'Neill was in it too, you know "Al Bundy".

  • Bundy was had such reputation after his 4 touchdowns in 1 game that they invited him for an episode to Miami Vice. xD

  • @ryanamays

The song used in this episode is "Going Under," from the Devo album "New Traditionalists," released in 1981 by Warner Bros. Records.

  • I know that phone! I used to have one. It's a Murray Cordless phone. It had a base with a wired phone also. Trying to find the model.

  • sorry... muraphone. Model 800/801

  • the fragrance that crockett use is " Patou pour Homme " by Jean Patou ... unfortunately it's discontinued

  • 1980s Vice nothing like it!!!!!!!!!!!

  • EPIC! ALL THE ELEMENTS ARE INVOLVED!

  • Are you positive it's Going Under? It doesn't sound the same when I listen to the video in the "related videos" bin...

  • Trust me pal this is "going under" by Devo. Its the opening sequence sometimes they speed it up and when you listen to the whole track it may sound a little different

  • This is the original. THere is also a very cool video where Devo are revolving on some weird contraption, singing this song like THIS.

  • lol,i bought this album when it first came out

  • I feel that Miami Vice was the best thing to ever come out of the 80s! Shows just aren't the same anymore, with the exception of a select few.

  • You need to be shot for that comment!

  • In the words of George W. Bush: "On bring it!...I mean...'It bring on!'...I mean..."

  • Can somebody tell me the name of the songs in the first episode where Tubbs fight wih the gorilla of Calderone...Are the first minutes of the show...Anywone remember!!!! THANKS!

  • Comment removed

  • The song on the pilot episode where Tubbs fights Calderone in the New York club, is titled "Body Talk" by The Deele.

  • whats the fragrance that crockett use ?

  • actually, you see crockett's unopened bottle of cologne sitting on the table with the credit cards and bullets. It was Tubbs who used the fragrance..or cologne.

  • no crockett used his fragrance 2 , look at second 10... does anybody knows what is this bottle ? it looks like a lacoste or something...

  • eh.....i dont know. it looks like he just turns the top off the cologne..thinks about it and twisted the top back on.

  • I think the fragrance is "Givenchy Gentleman".

  • no it's not

  • Anybody knows the Sonny Crockett´s credit card name?

  • anyone know the name of Crockett's essence???

  • THE ESSENCE

  • Adding the accelerating car at that beginning burst is a very good touch, I feel this is better than the original with just these little additions. It gives the song more character.

  • this is gold.

  • Devo is great on the background. This scene proves again, why Miami Vice is one of the best series ever!

  • Thanks for uploading this!

    This is awesome!

  • this is probably the best scene + music ever !

  • what song is this?

  • "Going Under" by Devo

  • DEVO Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Definitely Miami" was another 2nd Season gem too.

  • nice video its alright with this music but i think its better with "In The Air Tonight" it just adds more to the scene i think...thats just my opinion

  • This particular episode scene ALWAYS had the Devo song "Goin' Under"... "In The Air Tonight" is in the PILOT/EPISODE 1. This is from episode 2 aka Heart of Darkness.

Maybe it's a slight recap scene, but it was that way when it aired in ep 2.

    Sorry...

  • ok...thnaks for letting me know so i dont make a fool out of my self again lol. i think i thought it was the other scene because it looks similar but now that i look at it it is different

  • This scene rocks hardcore. I think I even like this sequence more than the "In The Air Tonight" scene from the pilot. Nothing like watching the Daytona barrelling down the back streets of Miami.

  • Which Episode is this?

  • 'Heart of darkness' from first season

  • When I first heard this song in Miami Vice, I went looking for it immediatley. A pretty hard song to find. The images and music in Miami Vice work. If they'd made a series of films instead of a series back in the 80's it would have been a huge hit probably.

  • They shouldn't have blown up the Daytona!!! The Daytona looked so much cooler than the Testarossa..

  • @Gehirnstrudel

The only reason they blew that one up was because Ferrari were annoyed a replica Daytona (not a real Daytona Spyder, those are rare and valuable) was passed as a real Ferrari. So, they gave the producers of the show two brand new white Testarossas. One used a stunt car and the other for filming the actors inside.

But I agree, and so does other Ferrari enthusiasts. Real Ferraris have a V12 in the front. Like the Daytona.

  • @McLarenMercedes Where they not infact Black to start with and painted White to stand out in night time shoots

  • @EKpaul1

Possibly. I do know that white was a very popular color for cars in the 80's though. Practically all the cars were white in Miami Vice.

  • @Gehirnstrudel

I Agree, but well, that's what you get when a car maker gets cocky...

  • the devo track is not the same on their albums as it is on the vice scene, the music in this video is better than there album version, but where can you get it.

  • It is "the same", but only the first verse and right before the chorus it cuts to the end of the song to make the song fit the sequence.

Maybe the background noise and the fact that it plays a little faster in the video (guess it was taken from a PAL-version which plays about 4% faster than NTSC-recordings) are a little distracting.

  • This is THE greatest episode of the whole series, with one of THE greatest music sequences. The only other one that ever came close was the end of "Out where the busses don't run" with the Dire Strait's "Brothers in Arms" playing.

That's not to say the rest of the show wasn't brilliant as well (esp. the first 2 seasons), but those two take the cake.

  • Yeah, "Heart Of Darkness" had a lot to live up to after the pilot episode, and it sure didn't disappoint.

  • Season 1 and 2 were the DARKEST and therefore are the best.

    MV4EVR

  • not really the last like 3 seasons were dark, theyre the most that micheal mann directed, he preferred a darker role in the show, still the show ruled overall lol

  • Devo - Going Under

  • I had a hard time finding this song.

  • whats the songs title and artist?

  • "Going under" , Devo

  • great song

  • This is one of the reasons that Miami Vice is the coolest show in TV history

  • that's actually a 46 MHz cordless phone.

  • Crocket shows some driving consentration while being eyed by his partner. He never gives in and eyes him back.

  • nobody is cooler than sonny crockett and ricardo tubbs

they are the coolest cops in history

  • I want one of those cellphones! I'm not kidding!!!

  • Try ebay.

  • SIKE01 MY FAVORITE TV SHOW OF ALL-TIME!!!

  • Wow. Did u see that mobile phone?

  • "Going under"

  • wich is that devo theme???????????? pleasee!!!!
