    In fact, the main character, Don Cheadle of all people, is a Muslim (and a US citizen) that becomes involved with a terrorist organization striking targets in the United States of America. The movie was released in 2008...

  • Look at how westerns evolved from bad guy in black hat moving right to left on screen and good guy in white hat moving left to right to more complex dealings with survival and dealing with death (ie. Unforgiven.) The reason you see less intelligent movies with stereotypical Islamic terrorists is that more people are becoming unable to see things so black and white. We need to turn the camera lens on ourselves and reflect. Look at Platoon for example. The big issues are too big to simplify.

  • I disagree with this guy but agree with his point. I do think government/big business are often portrayed as bad guys whereas if there were a movie portraying, say, an abortion doctor in a bad light, people would be up in arms about it.

    However, I don't think it's some massive Hollywood conspiracy. Rather, it reflects America's growing animosity towards these entities. Again, it's conservatives trying to address the symptoms rather than the causes.
