For the first one you could just figure out how you got from 4 to 12. and then do the same for the numerator...jussayin

a) 5/4 = x/12

1) multiply 5&12 [5×12=60]

2)divide 60&4 [60/4=15]

3)×=15

Note:multiply them diagonaly.then divide the product

5/4=x/12  you would do 5 times 12 divided by 4 which would be 15. so x=15

You can do either one but if you do it by subtracting 3 then you get negative X which is -1x

so she did 2 because it's a lot easier to work with positive numbers. you can do either way you still get the same answer
