Oh god, dementia/Altzheimer's is a bitch. My parents both eventually succumbed in this way - which I suppose is an indication for me and my sister too, eventually. The only consolation is that it can be a serene, painless affliction -more difficult for the family and friends to deal with than for the victim. Estelle Getty made me laugh hugely in every episode of Golden Girls. What a wonderful legacy to leave.

To answer your question, people don't expire like milk. Some people die at age 50, some 60, 70, or 80. It's not like they were triplettes that ate, work, slept, and did every single thing together since birth. We're talking about 3 different women, diets, excerise routines, inherited family genes. lol It is what it is.

@Pyrela Yeah never realised this growing up, but her on screen character was lot older than she was, Sophia Petrillo was meant to have been born around the early 1900's, but Estelle Getty was actually born in 1923 and was in fact year younger than Beau Arthur who played her on screen daughter.
