I like L4D but there are some things that should of been kept in there. Like in the Alpha version(Which is showed in the video) when you reload the Uzi it sometimes switches of from the present l4d reload animation and sometimes show the beta version of the animation. Also the firing sounds a lot better in the alpha version since it seems stronger than the high pitched sound.

All of the player models and HUD differences was because this was the beta in August 2008, therefore unfinished. For some reason they switched the models up late in development. If you watch the first trailer and look at the prelaunch screenshots, the changes are really apparent.

You would think so, but most people i have played with are useless stat chasers. Team work for them is setting you alight with a molotov while your being swarmed just so they can rack up kills. One guy incapacitated 2 of us and used them as bait before lighting them up and killing them, when i chased and shot the sod he had the nerve to try and boot me!! You sound like the kind of guy i would play with. I brought it for the "CO-OP SURVIVAL" didnt think that meant surviving my team mates :S

The only problem is that your massive firewpoer, health, the fact that there are 4 other people with you, and the huge volume of zombies desensitising you from fearing them means that there is zero tension or build up, you literally just mow down thousands of zombies- don't get me wrong, that's AWESOME fun, but its just not a horror game anymore

they are capable of climbing, running, jumping, etc, and keep in mind if you see any glitches/bugs..its a demo and being launched..updates always come later to fix shit

This is primarily a cooperative game and you likely won't get as much out of it that way.

To answer your question though: yes, there is a single player mode with AI controlled teammates.

However, I'm not sure if the computer is intelligent enough to revive you if dying or in need of a hand. Certain bosses won't let go until they're forced off by another player.
