Thanks bro this really helped. I just got my first pistol, a 1911 smith a wesson. Im so stoked. This was my first time cleaning it. It was harder than i thought. But thanks again for the help.
Your video is very helpful. I bought a new CDP 11 Kimber full size and yesterday it took me three tries and a spring flying across the room before I finally got it right. Despite your precise instructions I did have a problem getting the slide ti return to battery even with magazine inside the gun. I found out later that I did not have the slide stop pushed in correctly. Thank you again nothing beats hands on experience.
I suggest putting a few drops of oil on a q-tip and using that instead. You can get much thinner layers down in tighter spaces.

How do you go back and run a patch through the barrel after you have reassembled the gun before you shoot it?

Thank you! Great vid, perfect pace for a mechanical idiot like me. My Kimber is so much more complex to strip than my Glock. Very helpful.

How did your slide stop install so easily? I was told to use something to hold that spring loaded slide release back while you try to snap it in.

@MrNeedsdecaf the slide stop should not be difficult to reinstall. if it is, then there is probably something wrong.

What about the drop between the hammer and frame?

@D3FC0N0N3 - good point! All Kimbers come with an Owner's Manual and in there it will include the drop you mention.
