slade were ten years too early for the us market. This is the most underrated rock band the uk ever produced. They were electric live even during theiry years. Slade are not remembered like the others because almost all of their following was actually working class kids. Most of the people who actually work on music papers know nothing about them as university students hated them with a vengeance. Factory girls loved them and art students hated them. Drugs and Slade did not go well together.
