  • im so phukin' sutpid

  • you have weird examples but this is nice

  • Will superpowers be possible?

  • For more on biotech revolution: see my channel pjvdixon

  • One thing I can predict is that the video gaming industry will have a frenzy in making games were characters go around having fun messing around putting tails on lemons and putting legs on trees and all sorts, other than that it sounds very interesting.

  • @deanmullen10 You mean like in "Spore"?

  • Possible to alter human DNA from a living adult? Like change the height? Is it theoretically possible or must it be in another state of life (unborn)?

  • @mQtek You can alter DNA of individual cells in a living person. Happening already in medical treatments - gene therapy.

  • @pjvdixon I was under the impression that the prospects of somatic genetic engineering are quite a bit lower than those of germline engineering, due to the fact that it's extremely difficult to reliably distribute the modified genes to all the cells in the targeted tissues, which obviously is not an issue for germ cells.

  • Do you know why the geneticist went to dental school?

He was looking for an oral high gene.

  • I want this to happen so much!

  • Orangutans are NOT monkeys! He lost all sorts of credibility by saying that...

  • @TheLadyEden OR maybe he said it like this "orangutan, monkeys..." Oh, but you wouldn't think of that now would you?

  • @TheLadyEden Kind of. Orangutans, Gorillas, and humans are subsets of Apes which are a subset of Monkeys.

  • @TheLadyEden So what are Orangutans if not monkeys - they are part of the monkey family surely?

  • so why are we not modifying human embryos to have higher IQ's and less disease

  • So what was the point he was trying to make?

  • Would Gravity influence the construction of a DNA molecule, I have trouble coming to grasp at how the planet manages to extinguish spices it hasn't completely fostered. The laws of nature seem to be too complex to fully define all it's governing agents. And then, all the animals are dying that feed off of GMO grains creating new viruses that cross over to humans. which seems to be most appreciated by the pharmaceuticals that make vaccines.Asian flu, flesh eating virus, Pig flu, mad cow disease

  • this guy is a complete quack...he has no idea what he's talking about. his knowledge probably doesn't go beyond what he said in this video, which he doesn't even fully explain correctly.

  • it is natures law if it can be done it will be done ,,,,,,so y not make sure that we are the best at it .........................endless posibilitys ..and indeed scary ,,but it will happen

  • This area of research has some severe risks, and will need much more research for securities sake, but once we have learnt much more, we should be able to benefit ourselves remarkably.

  • If God didn't want us to achieve genetics engineering, would he give us the power to do so? You fanatics are getting really annoying, we could potentially make humans impervious to disease or make them have new abilities and IMPROVE humanity. I think God would want us to improve ourselves, don't you?

PS: I would like to volunteer in any genetics engineering project that improves human capabilities. I am 18 and I am very interested in this. If it succeeds, no payment required. Contact me. =D

  • @robertogomez1107 you tube would be better if you had an option to omit religious people from commenting. ... with a dynamic algorithm of course in case they try to get around the old man in the sky question :D

  • @UroborosComplex damn right, i hear you =D

  • @UroborosComplex But religion is an important part of genetics debate.

  • I KILL NAZIS...and LIFE MANIPULATORS.

  • There is a limit to everything - ..without earth we are nothing. Creating something anti-aging would be the worst achievement ever..it's such a bad way of thinking only about looks and how bad you wanna look young.. Biologically we need to give birth to future generation for the evolution to take course. We need to balance the population because we are already overpopulating the earth..think about the animals and nature to..not only materialistic stuff

  • @EuropeanGuy87 7 billion people can fit into the city of Los Angeles. Genetic engineering can make resources a non-issue.

There is no overpopulation issue. Period.

  • This is absolutely unacceptable. People think they can take role of God himself? We are just humans. We are not higher beigns that some of you think we are. We were banished from heaven because of foolish Adam's and Eve's actions, and now you want us banished from the Earth? We will, look at us, destroying our own planet and life inside it. Humans belong in hell, and hopefully more responsible species replace us.

  • @Slavko961234 I've never heard any abrahamic religion state that we were banished from heaven.

You say 'we are just humans'. Yes and as humans we have the natural capacity for scientific progress, that doesn't mean we think we're 'higher beings'. We ARE the highest intelligence known to exist, what do you mean 'just' human?. You said 'We are not higher beings that some of you think we are'. I say, We're not the lower beings you think we are.

Humans belong in hell? Sounds very uncompassionate.

  • @Slavko961234 hahahahahha we can't play "God" because god is an idea not a "higher being"

  • @UroborosComplex Jews brainwahed you sonny.

  • @Slavko961234 now you are just being prejudice which contradicts any positive point you were trying to get across.. ass

  • @UroborosComplex Exactly. Playing "God" is not a viable argument because "God's" existence has yet to be proven.

  • look, this is wrong to most chrisitians, like myself i have decided this could be revolutionary, we should not stop this work but keep it up. just dont abuse.

  • The Dare Island Enigma is an adventure novel concerning an alternative view of evolution see video book trailer

  • it wouldnt b a bad thing if a 1/3 or even a half of the worlds population died how bout make it 98% there would still b 137 Million 942 000 thousand ppl alive humans are a plague a virus, dnt wnt to preach but cant wait 2 die

  • The way he speaks is confusing, yes genes work in other animals but you cannot say give a human a trunk using the genes in an elephant to create a trunk, its very complex.

  • MU1f002 is right, this has been done before & those responsible & many other were destroyed for breaking the Law of Nature, if mans curiosity continues in this area he will be put to rest once again. Ignore it all you want, the real proof will be in the mutated pudding;-) This warning will be heard by the wise, not the ignorant.

  • There 109 year old man (still partying) that has never had a disease in his life that lived on a "mainly" raw diet. This is due to his compliance with the LAW of Nature.

Curiosity killed the cat, in this instance, it may wipe out the human race?

Dog genes + Human genes = Dog diseases that humans have no resistance agains?

Pig genes + Human genes = Swine flu?

Starting at 1:40 he says all that really matters, then quickly gets back onto his curiosity trip.

    I prefer quantum mechanics:)

  • @Dreadnyah The swine flu was a overhyped pile of crap.

Understand has GE works before posting bullshit.

  • i have a question is it possible to change human structures into an animal structure?

  • orangutans aren't monkeys.... it's a great ape

  • Very interesting video.

  • I'm guessing when you genetic modify an animal/human whatever, it has too be done too an embryo? Or can you modify the genetics of a already existing animal/human.

  • @probe02 what about an awesome combo of the two?

  • At this time is it possiable for lesbian parents to enject both their genes into a fertilized egg? Is it also possiable to almost elimenate the majority of the genes from the sperm?

  • One of the reasons I want to go into this study so I can make a xenomorph from Alien and also to help cure some illnesses. Mainly to make the xenomorph thought because that would badass and also we mite have the abillity to train it or teach it how to speak and most likely be the new mans best friend. Theres no end to the possobilitys with this new study.

  • What about unlimited age, extreme intelligent, regeneration, super antibody and anything we wanted. Why i want to change ourselves because i hate human. I and many others dont want to stuck in the life cycle anymore. Born, Getting old then die. Its that what you want?

  • @xxxxxHavocxxxxx

For you to be engineered it would be very hard, for an embryo it would be easy. As much as I hate the idea, but this is something for future generations if we can't develop an effective way of inserting genes into fully developed humans cheaply and on a large scale. In terms of time, we have to do it as fast as possible. Unfortunately there are those who wish to hinder progress and even the children of today are likely to die at the hands of religion and so called 'ethics'.

  • @simple382 we are genetically modified creations anyway.. the oppressors here who tinkered with our genes didnt allow for human evolution, which is why they are cloning thousands of beings in their underground bases. this will replace the real independant thinking humans and perpetuate the cloned borg race of compliant sleeping masses that they need to be their slaves on a daily basis.. So nothing has really changed; they are just letting the public know about their old technology.

  • @SovereignBeing if that's true, it's so sad....

  • @nefrinhayat well dont fall into victim mentality.!. that's how we all got into this mess in the first place..!

know who u really are, where u came from & remember how powerful u are as a genuine Divine human .!

live in love, without fear, then u are already half way there to beating the system..

  • @SovereignBeing thanks...nice, inspiring words. :)

  • I don't think it's fair for people with a religion to protest against GE.

  • the carrot of gene therapy is tasty, but the stick of euegnics hurts the hell.

  • If you're against gm then turn of your computer, sell it, and then move down south or east towards the desert.

  • messing with this sort of thing has led to our demise before.... they are doing major cloning and genetic experiments in many an underground lab.. infact u would think u walked into a sci-fi movie if u ventured into one..

The entire human race were genetically modified and no one is any the wiser..!!t.. no one knows who is actually a clone ..(see obama)

who's to say they cannot clone and replace your entire family..!

no one would believe you if they did and u were looking for justice.!

  • @SovereignBeing -.-' Dumbass.

  • @SniperViper1000 thats real constructive thanks u must be proud of that PHD!

  • I want a pair of wings on my back.

  • lol

  • This is why I want to be a genetic engineer.

  • when will they take bird genes that give them wings and hook me up

  • @germoneyblakk

I wouldn't want that don't to me. Ever notice how birds don't have arms? Even if they gave you wings and you managed to keep your arms, you would need to weigh a lot less to fly. By the time you have wings, hollow bones, and a shorter spine, you wouldn't be very human. If you do decide to become a bird though, good luck getting a girl friend.

  • @adamkyler Ah, but what if you had wings like a bumblebee? Then you could fly without any other alterations. I think I would much rather have feline genes though. Cats are slinky stealthy silky smooth.

  • @Smackerlacker1 If you had feline genes, you could become a lolcat!

  • Obama Gives Key Agriculture Post to Monsanto Man

President Obama announced that he will recess appoint Islam A. Siddiqui to the position of Chief Agricultural Negotiator, Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.

Siddiqui is a pesticide lobbyist and Vice President for Science and Regulatory Affairs at CropLife America, an agribusiness lobbying group that represents Monsanto.Islam Siddiqui was a registered lobbyist with CropLife America, which spent just over $2 million on lobbying

  • You are doing us a great service by giving us this information. Thank you.

  • Genetic engineering many job opportunities - and ethical challenges.

  • what chances we have to get a job with field?

  • So we could cross say:

    Human x goat = Satyr

    Human x horse = Centaur

    Human x cow = Minotaur

Seems to me this has been done before and someone was none too pleased. Better include some fish genes in the mix as we may have to do some swimming again.

  • @MU1f002 Geep (sheep+goat) made already.

  • @MU1f002 AQUAMAN R TEH PWN

  • @MU1f002 -Don't be rediculous. People like you will continue to look through ancient fairy-tales for arguments against change while at the same time enjoying everything that the new technology comes up with. -Guess thats why we have a YouTube filled with fake ghost vids.

  • @MU1f002 NO human x cow = cow king in diablo 2 :P

  • @MU1f002

Please tell me your joking, please. Thinking that we can "play" like a being that formed matter and energy from nothingness=arrogance, pure arrogance. Gods working at a level that would make da vinci cry, we're just playing with legos, legos he bought us.

  • @Deathrune456

I am only half joking. You are right, we cannot form matter and energy from nothing and we are not doing that in the case of genetic engineering. I like your analogy of playing with legos bought from a higher power. Might I add that we are rearanging the lego blocks or perhaps combining legos with mega blocks or mechano to create "new toys". Last time we had help from lesser "gods", this time we are doing it to ourselves (or are we?).

  • @MU1f002 you realize noah's flood is a myth right?

  • So we could cross say:

    Human x goat = Satyr

    Human x horse = Centaur

    Human x cow = Minotaur

Seems to me this has been done before and someone was none too pleased. Better include some fish genes in the mix as we may have to do some swimming again.

  • why do brits on youtube sound so preachy?

  • when are we...meaning you guys.. gonna create a cure for the zombie virus...better yet ...something that will kill vampires...but seriously is anybody storing any dna from all these species being destroyed daily...

  • If genetic engineering continues at the rate at which it is at the moment, we can pretty much say that it won't be long untill we start designing our own evolutionary progress. And as we all know, when you screw around with nature, nature screws around with you (x100)

  • @usman2hype92 i dont see how we could make us super human and get rid or viruses in humans genetic e is the future to humans to better our self to greater height but we all now u have to mess up first

  • Genetic engineering may be the future but do you realize the consequences that may result from the the outcome of our "progress"? Guns were designed for police officers to enforce "law" for a better and safer country.. what happens when those guns come into the hands of terrorists and other extremists; chaos. In the same way we'll have the same results from genetic engineering. People will begin to engineer viruses as bioterror attacks and humans that are limitless in power. We need competition!

  • After the Bomb 2nd Edition by Erick Wujcik

  • @usman2hype92 Pal... you've already just let the terrorists win. Thanks alot.

  • No, it's not something we all know, and it's especially not something you know. Good job at trying to sound deep though. You don't understand even basic evolution if you're arguing that we are altering some course. It's a shame that the fear and ignorance of fools holds back progress.

  • Why did God make Khazars so unpleasent looking?

    To reflect their soul?

  • there is no god, get w/ the times

  • Well, if you at least read the bible once over, (since you have such an opinion)

You'd know I am with the times. Everything happening now, predicted in Bible.

  • @PhuqueU Prove it.

  • This reminded me of an article i read in class a few years back, i think it was about a parasite, can't remember excactly what it was, but what i do remember was that it actually incorporated its DNA to the human host's DNA and that it existed in south america

  • @socceroo117 That would be the good ole HIV. It's called a retrovirus.

  • @socceroo117 That would be the good ole HIV. It's called a retrovirus.

  • By saying an oak tree genes could work in a chimpanzee, would it not be possible for a mammal such as a human to get an extract of the gene that allows the tree to take in CO2 and "paste" it inside the humans DNA so that we could breathe in CO2, this may sound like some fairy tale BS but they gave a chicken razor sharp teeth from the gene of a crocodile and gave it a tail by inserting a virus to the chickens vertebra, so why not let humans breathe CO2?

  • There are no genes in trees that make the brain, kidneys, muscles etc... thrive on CO2, because trees don't have brains, kidneys, muscles, etc... Even if you successfully programed a human to breath in CO2, that human would die within a minute or two.

Tails, teeth, glow in the dark pigments... those are fun little toys for scientists to play with. But complex interconnected life support systems? You can't just playfully insert one piece to some other puzzle in our own. Not how it works.

  • You people are on crack. Humans breathe in CO2 every single day. It makes up a healthy % of the atmosphere.

  • i dont think we should be playing GOD and the mane thing is that we dont know the sideffects

  • @spartan8king

You're "playing god" right now by using electricity, idiot.

You shouldn't be allowed to vote if you think we shouldn't be able to manipulate our world with science.

If you think we should be cautious about interfering with which polypeptide chains (proteins) we allow cells to synthesize, without knowing the full implications of such actions, that's one thing. Telling us we should never do it is another and science-respecting people will ignore you.

  • @gaydenputridful

He's allowed to vote against manipulating our world with science,

especially sine you are MOLESTING his world with your twisted MonSatan mass murder you pig vomit.

  • Go to the hospital one day and you come back and tell me how "sick" modern science is.

You're an immature, uneducated neanderthal who imbibes, then spews, hardline ideological nonsense. Moreover, you charge with me being gay and use it like an insult. Comical.

Honestly dude, go back to church and stay there. The real world doesn't need your type.

    Goodbye.

  • I Love You

  • ha ha ha, being a fudge packing poop penis isn't an insult?

see what public school has done to you?

Oh did I get it wrong? you're on the receiving end?

Well anyway, still vile and disgusting.

as for your other brilliant comments, education in the USA has plumeted from #1 to #39 below singapore, since your sugar daddy Rocky illegally took charge of it in a covert war against God's people. hospitals are the 3rd leading cause of preventable death in USA, apparently you're the uneducated one.

  • @PhuqueU Hope you know bush the religious asshole made it #39.

Oh yeah? Did I mention RELIGION!

  • @SniperViper1000 Religion is a big word, and depending on what religion, can be completely different from another, for instance Bush is no more serves God than you do, but he serves Satan, where as you watch the cartoons on your channel, which is where you should have stayed.

  • @TheTruthPusher LOL.. agreed!

  • Genetic engineering is man's way of correcting God's hideous mistakes, like German people.

  • @islandwarrior16

    bigot.

  • LOL!

  • cant wait to do this wen im older...

  • I study both Genetic Engineering and Medical Science in University. We are so advanced in genetics that most people got no idea. We can even mutate the DNA on specific Chromosome affecting the gene OCA2, and the baby will get blue eyes. Or things even more amazing that I can't really say.

  • is it possible to learn a few things about that?

i really would love to know where we are in that science today..can you recomend a few sources on that subject, official record preferably...

    thanx

  • can you direct me to a good website that explains genetics and also has info on the latest advances in genetic engineering like the one you mentioned in your comment.

    thanks in advance

  • urgeist[dot]org

  • SWINE FLU HE SAID IT!

  • nerd

  • Honestly, I think man is not responsible enough YET to be playing around with genetic engineering.

  • the three somatotypes:...

Ectomorphic: characterized by long and thin muscles/limbs and low fat storage; receding chin, usually referred to as slim.

Mesomorphic: characterized by large bones, solid torso, low fat levels, wide shoulders with a narrow waist.

Endomorphic: characterized by increased fat storage, a wide waist and a large bone structure.....

as a result of genetic mutation in the past...

  • Visornet, what are you trying to say exactly by bringing up body structure?

  • I am not sure what I am but what can I take to get bigger musices without roids? because i think there is the truth in how to get faster bigger muscles with the government hiding everything

  • FUCK

  • Really usefull comment. thanks.

  • Comment removed

  • Great video. Don't worry about all these conservative high school drop outs, they post more than average people.

Genes will be spliced whether you like it or not, its possible so it's gonna be done, mind as well have it legal so the good guys can do it.

  • @onexdata Good Guys like Monsatan?

  • @TheTruthPusher Yeah like Monsatan... if Monsatan's CEO is Satan, do you think they are going to worry if it's "legal""? Meanwhile, Mother Therisa's granddaughter who is a geneticist is going to be left twiddling her thumbs working on buckyballs when she could cure cancer, but can't because the research is illegal. Monsatan did the research *anyway*, and now has the technology to clone Satan and brings in the appocolypse... good on ya, TruthPusher. Good reasoning there.

  • i dont understand why everyone is so against genetic engineering. i mean, wouldn't it be great to have a higher resistance to disease and sickness? wouldn't it be great to abolish genetic or hereditary diseases that could be carried down to our future children? wouldn't it be great to live at our lifes peek (18 - 21) just a little longer before our bodies begin to deteriorate? all these things could be achieved if we fix the slight imperfections in our genes. think of as assisted evolution.

  • Though I must agree, this is all great, you also have to think of space. We have minimum amount of space, and resources, if every one starts doing that then it will only make them even scarcer. I just kind of wish we'd get out of this planet already, and unto other planets, this would allow genetic engineering to flourish because the earth wouldn't be the only place we'd have.

  • @DarkProto iam guessing it effects people religions

  • @DarkProto of course it's a great idea, just thinking of the opportunities which were given to us by finding out what scientists could do with genes, but on the other hand you could argue with the example that we tamper with nature and the best example by far is HIV, imagine what could happen if a gene mutates?

In conclusion I have to say genetic engineering is something important, I totally support stem cell research, but not gm food, or something else, that companies make to gain more money

  • @chair7834 Monsanto is not a good example of GM food.

You could make royalities but only for farmers/people who brought them.

Everyone knows Monsanto is a corrupt, asshole corporation that should drown in a ditch the thing is.... it's our, the farms, Monsanto's and the governments own fault.

  • @DarkProto the point is, you and your puppet masters are not using genetic engineering for those purposes, in fact you are using them to de-populate the earth by 90%, so who the hell do you think you're fooling Mr. Pose-As-Poster Disinfo?

  • fuckin sociopaths!

  • you're creating life with one hand whilst destroying it with the other

  • yea nothing to worry about with thing slike this the world fucks it self on its own

  • stop trying to fix something that isnt broken, you fuckin egomaniacs!

  • All science is plagiarism

  • Does anyone know if this has anything to do with pregnancys?!?! What's the experiment or whatever for having 1 boy and 1 girl at the same time? Many women have done it but idk what it's called so someone help me out i wanna do a report for my school about this.

  • feel the wrath of the human cucumber muhahahaha lol

  • advanced genetic technology will be used to create a new master human race

  • we could live forever at age 18 if we wanted

we could genetically engineer all our problems away

    no war, hunger, sadness

ANYTHING can be fixed by makeing yourself whoever or whatever you want to be

    great technology... cant waste it

  • if the bible says that man is to have dominion over nature and animals and all that also includes the process of evolution and therefore mastery over the evolutionary process

  • I don't get why people whine about how "bad" genetic engineering is, it's not like scientists inject gasoline into a squash to make a highly toxic super pumpkin that acts like the tasmanian devil (of course, people who think that can not possibly fathom how big of idiots they are). I think gene engineering of plants, animals, in some cases, even humans (not that I endorse growing 2 extra arms: then there'd be a huge demand for tailors) is the most miraculous and amazing thing on Earth.

  • mutations have always provided the material for change and adaptation. Creating a different rate of mutation artificially, one that has never been seen in the natural evolution through spontaneous mutation...is inviting and altered rate mutations...no one knows what that would do, it would be like the sudden temperature change on earth.. possibly pandoras box.

  • Then I suppose there's no harm in trying it out in a controlled environment.

  • Sir...such a thing cannot be supposed. This unfortunately is not about a new recipee for salami. I believe the restauration of tissues and the reversal of pathologies in tissues in any part of the organism, is enough of a field for progress during the next 50 years. Tampering with gene sequences, replacing genes, cannot be embarked upon without knowing the reason for each gene to be AS it is...there are issues concerning their interaction in the d. helix that are simply not known.

  • Like I said: a controlled environment. Scientists can potentially get results faster if they test such tampering in an environment that can't affect the world outside it. Of course, there may be risks that cannot be foreseen but if I ever learned anything: it's that you got to take risks to get things done fast and effectively.

  • absolutely. may it all be for the best. I do have serious questions as to our capacity to resolve many of the long standing problems facing us today: overpopulation, increasingly diminished genetic varieties in food production..growing inequality..huge long etc. Hopefully life AS IS will be safeguarded inspite of our dubious moral/ethical record so far.

  • OK you scary scientist. You need to realize what would happen to our world if human trying to play God, thinking they can create a complete living thing that never walks the earth before. Please do the world a favour, use your knowledge to do good deal for humanity, NEVER fooling around or misusing human and animal gene! Your smile creeps me out.

  • What the fuck is the point of genetic engineering if it will only help embryos and not adults?

What's the point? To create a perfect society of healthy superior beings and get rid of the rest?

Why the hell are these scientists researching in this useless shit?

  • I agree 100% this is the same way i was thinking nicely done!

  • This dude is awesome

  • "so long as you're not worried about also transplanting silent pig viruses that could set of a new human pandemic".....2 year old video....LMAO

  • all you need to know is about colloida silver look for the videos of DR bob beck don't be scared of swine flu

  • a fatal fault of genetic engineering: less genetic variation.

haven't you all learned that variations is the key to survival?

and you know how some people can defeat a certain virus while others can't? well, it's because that person is DIFFERENT. I mean, some people are even IMMUNE TO AIDS. now, with that in mind, gn might not be so good an idea, because as you can see, mutations and variation are the keys to moving mankind forward.

if we are all the same, one pathogen can kill us all.

  • Do you even know what genetic engineering is?

  • this is suicide genetic enginering will eventually lead to the human races end!
