  • The Tim Burton idea to me might seem strange because i would like to see how this book can be portrayed in a real way that doesn't look fake

  • LOLZ, all i remember from this book is

"now slip, now slide, now move unseen,

    above, beneath, betwixt, between."

  • this movie should be a work from Tim Burton. I think that this book has the essence that Burton has in his films

  • Comment removed

  • But a truce to this strain; for my soul it is sad,

To think that a heart in humanity clad

Should make, like the brute, such a desolate end,

And depart from the light without leaving a friend.

Rattle his bones over the stones! He's only a pauper, whom nobody owns!

  • @Badgaldinger nice poem bro

  • You bumpkins! who stare at your brother conveyed--

Behold what respect to a cloddy is paid!

And be grateful to think, when by death you're laid low,

You've a chance to the grave like a genman to go!

Rattle his bones over the stones! He's only a pauper, whom nobody owns!

  • Poor pauper defunct! he has made some approach

To gentility, now that he's stretched in a coach!

He is taking a drive in his carriage at last!

But it will not be long, if he goes on so fast:

Rattle his bones over the stones! He's only a pauper, whom nobody owns!

  • What a jolting, and creaking, and splashing, and din!

The whip, how it cracks! and the wheels, how they spin!

How the dirt, right and left, o'er the hedges it hurls,

The pauper at length, makes a noise in the world.

Rattle his bones over the stones! He's only a pauper, whom nobody owns!

  • Oh where are the mourners? Alas! There are none,

He has left not a gap in the world, now he's gone,--

    Not a tear in the eye of child, woman, or man;

To the grave with his carcass as fast as you can:

Rattle his bones over the stones! He's only a pauper, whom nobody owns!

  • There's a grim one-horse hearse in a jolly round trot--

    To the churchyard a pauper is going, I wot;

The road it is rough, and the hearse has no springs,

And hark to the dirge which the mad driver sings:

Rattle his bones over the stones! He's only a pauper, whom nobody owns!

  • I have to read this for school, too:) It's good so far, but some bits, I find a little bit confusing.

  • i have to read this book for a school project >.< but this is better than a boring book ^.<

  • @sambreanne me 2

  • it would make a great movie!!

  • I'm reading this book atm and I love it so far ♥

  • I don't know about you, but while reading the book I imagined it as a movie by Tim Burton or Henry Selick. I can't think of any other director for it.

  • idk about anybody else but i kind of pictured Silas as Atticus Finch aka Gregory Peck in To Kill a Mockingbird, to me Silas fit that description

  • Read this in reading class♥ bestbook ever(:

  • i love this book, its the best ever. i finished reading it today, and have already told everyone i know about it!

  • I want to hug Silas. Or maybe Nobody should do that!

  • THE BOOK IS JUST SO AMAZING! :)

  • This is an awesome trailer! Makes me want to read the book more then a lot of the ones I've seen.

  • this is a book! a movie just ruin it all, that´s why are so many analfabetzxisbs!!!!

  • This is the best book in the whole world !!!!!!!!! :) It's a great story and I want to buy the book because whenever I go to the library it's checked out

  • It was sad about Scarlet at the end..

  • Best book ever. Sadly my school library wont let me buy it.

  • The end was the best

  • Good book, have read better tho

  • This is without doubt the best book ever!!!

  • My favourite quote from this book: "If you dare nothing, then when the day is over, nothing is all you will have gained"

  • Ive read this. Its ma fave book at the mo.

  • this is an AMAZING book! i loved it to pieces!! i'm going to have to buy it!!

  • if coraline and stardust can be a movie, so can this

  • i read the book it gave me the chills!>3

  • I LOVED that book.

  • omg so creepy

  • The gothic jungle book.

  • He lives under a tombstone???

  • I DID!!!!!!! and really bad!!!! i love his books

  • The book sounded good but the trailer did not look good to me.

  • i read the graveyard book some parts were sad like his only living friend loses her memory because sailse his guardian

  • I WISH NOBODY HUGGED SILAS!

  • I love this book, but I am so confused in terms of the movie. In January of this year, Gaiman said that the movie had been canceled, but I found articles from May of this year saying that the movie is in pre-production and that Gaiman is writing the screenplay. SO IS IT GOING TO BE MADE OR NOT?! O_o

  • You are not the only one. I cried too...

  • @Authorgirl87 yeah that would be perfect but I'd want to see more of Johnny depp he could work as Silas too.. Maybe.

  • @DanieBritsRainCloud (no offense) but i dont really think jhonny depp would be a very good role for any of the characters in The Graveyard Book, I read it, and i dont think Jhonny Depp would be good for it (of coarse no offence ment) cos Jhonny Depp is really good at funny and crazy roles, ont he other hand the graveyard book is more of a serious one. i hope they do make a film of it

  • this book is REALLY good.

  • I cry at the end!!! :(

    I wanna watch the movie!!!

  • my teach read the book it's really good ( poor Nobody's Family )

  • I wish Tim Burton would get involved. I'm seeing Helena B. Carter as Bod's mom, Alan Rickman as Silas, and Johnny Depp as the man Jack.

  • I'm 19 and I loved the book. One of Gaiman's best, together with "Neverwhere" :)

  • Great trailer! Better than the book, I thought. (Blasphemy, I know).

I'm in library school, have 8 and 1 year old boys.

  • cool...

  • did anyone eles make the same mistake and thought his name was bob insteid of bod

  • @pieman173 i thought it was prounonced "bud"

  • hey were reading dis book in class at skoo

  • Realy slick!! Anyone know how they do this? Real interesting how the camera travels through. I would like to see a movie from this book.

  • i totally cried it was sooooo i dunno such a awesome book~~~!!!!! i wish there waz a movie of this or something...

  • Dude, Neil Gaiman is my hero. I would take a bullet for him LOL jk

  • I hope that make this and Neverwhere into a real movie.

  • this is one of the best books I have ever read recently! is made of pure win! is big as Artemis Fowl or Harry Potter!

  • I love this book...especially elizabeth the witch..

  • I just finisht the book.

it wasnt as good as Coraline, but totally worth to read 8)

my favorites was the Ghouls 83

  • @violatormelms

Oh really? I'm reading Coraline and I think

Gaveyard book is to much exciting!

  • I met the author he also wrote coraline

  • I really loved this book. It was the perfect blend of all the right stuff, action, humor, emotion... I know it may sound cliche but it's very true.

  • I've never read this...

  • I got to be honest, this book was the best book I have ever read...

  • Did anyone else cry at the end? I admit that it got to me. I love Neil Gaiman's books.

  • @DannyGrowth YEEES!!..I finished reading it yesterday..I cried so much in the end...It's a lovely book..

  • To DannyGrowth. I DID! I cried at the end of the book. It was so touching. We, the readers, had to 'let go' just like Bod and move on. I recommend this book on my MySpace profile.

  • @DannyGrowth I cried too, like a a baby I did, genius all of it, pure bloody genius!, They need to make this into a movie!

  • @DannyGrowth i did.... :'(

  • i did!!!! i love his books too!!!

  • @DannyGrowth Cried my eyes out... lol

  • I wished Bod And Scarlett was together... =[

brilliant book! One of the finest!

Silas is an Honour Guard, so he isn't human

  • How did u do this?

  • Great book! My daughter and I loved it!

  • Buying the full version of The Graveyard adds only one feature, the possibility of death. The full version of the game is exactly the same as the trial, except, every time you play she may die.

    O.o

  • my teacher read it to me :3

  • how old are you 11?

  • @onikjohn3 no 12 xD

  • coolieo

  • I'm almost finished with this book, and it's amazing!

  • im reading this book i am on pg 180 i need to ffinish lol

  • I'm reading it right now, and god its the best book ive ever read

  • I love this book like so much! And I really love Silas and Bod.. :D

I wish I was living in the graveyard.

  • this is one my favourite books!!

but at the end i wanted to know if bod could still fade and all that stuff even when he left....

    LOVE THE BOOK!

  • I LOVE this book.

BUT I really wanted Bod to hug Silas in the end of the book S: And what about the day where the living and the dead danced? That remained a mystery. And the lady in grey never did let Bod ride her horse, her character also remained a mystery.

  • Lady on the Grey never let Bod ride her horse because you only ride it when you die, thats what she met by saying everybody does, hes yet to die and then he will. and i wanted Bod to hug Silas too =( hhehe, p.s. this is about the graveyard book

  • Thank you for explaining!

  • I love this book!!!!

  • I fing love this book! Im gonna be first in line to see the movie!!

  • I'm currently reading this book for my book club at school and its awesome, i recommend it to everyone.

  • god i hope is live action

  • i can't wait for the film. A friend and I think it's either going to be like the Nightmare Before Christmas with playdough or like Coraline which looks like they made everything out of wood. I don't know. It could be quite cool if they did live action though!

  • My teacher read it to our class when I was in 6th grade (i'm a 7th grader now) it was sooooo good we only had 3 weeks to read it cause school was almost done we didnt have the time to finish it all and my teacher said she was going to tell us the end but she forgot:()

  • wow this is awesome

i was hoping there would be a movie and here it is!!!

but still one year to go and we could see the movie!!

  • I can't wait for this film. I finished the book today and its an amazing read. I suggest people get ahead of the curve before everyone starts reading it.

  • this will be really good as a movie but in my opinion i just cant see it being better than the coraline movie

  • It's becoming a movie?????????????

  • Does anyone have any idea of the name of the song played by Bela Fleck on Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book --- audio book?

  • i absolutely LOVED the book and it would be so cool to see a movie, but the only thing is i just can't picture anybody playing Bod's character in a movie! nobody (lol) can capture Bod's exquisit characteristics like Gaiman can :)

  • There is a movie coming 2011 check out IMDB it wil probally be animated im not sure they have almost no details

  • That's Neil Gaiman's voice?

  • yes it is... if you listen carefuly, you can hear his one of a kind accent :)

  • good idea

  • i think this would be perfect for a motion capture 3-D film

  • Oooh, weird, but sounds good. Raised by the dead! I bet he's got some stories to tell. You wouldn't get this kind of stuff at the local cinema would you? I might just take a look. Great trailer by the way.

  • 2009 Hugo Award winner, "Best Novel": The Graveyard Book, by Neil Gaiman

  • this is my favorite of all his books!

  • i hella hope they make a real life movie of this book. . . . .they need to

  • @rfp415 I read (on Wikipedia) that Neil Jordan is currently in pre-production of the film (^_^)

  • @rfp415 They are! Neil Jordan is writing the script and directing. EXCITING

  • hes also a vampire, it doesnt say that in the book but the author confirmed it in an interview

  • yeah, i knew that... it said in the book that there was this flying bat-like thing when b0d was in the p0lice car.... d0esn't matter though, i l0ve him!!!!!!!

  • whats bod's first name/ i need his surname

  • This is a perfect trailer to get kids interested in NeilGaiman's book.

  • I love Neil Gaiman's books! I've read Coraline and the graveyard book. I thought I'd never get it finnished! But I did

  • its really hard to read!!!! im stuck at the part where he's kidnapped by the gouls and i just CANT seem to finish that section!!! i have to read every sentence like 17 times before it makes sense!!!

  • I love this book; I love all his books I've read, actually. This is totally my new favorite book, though. I ♥ Bod.

  • Oh, this is so COOL!

  • the book is amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing

  • it is being made into a movie

  • I wonder if Henry Selick will be doing the film adaptation? I just finished the book, Neil really deserved the Newbury award for this great little book.

  • i think its going to be made into a movie soon! XD

  • dude, this so should be a movie!

  • i just finished reading this book today and i absolutely loved it! i was very sad when it ended...

  • Love this book and even though i didnt read it i loved Coraline

  • teh book is awesome i love it

  • Books like that should stay this way and NOT be put into a nutshell, like the movie makers did to The Lord of the Rings and Narnia.

  • the book is amazing i think its one of the best books i read!

  • The book is really good!

Bit of a slow start i thought, but love the last couple of chapters!

  • I love this book XD

My mom was reading it first... but I stole it from her and finished it ^-^

Yeah, this is one of my favorite books (top trillion, lol) this, and Good Omens (Terry Pratchett is amazing....)

  • I read this book,

    it's kina confusing,

    but a very good book!

  • My mom stood in line for hours to get this book signed for me as a surprise for my birthday...and of course Gaiman stayed way past his scheduled signing time to autograph for everybody in the line. I am so glad I've gotten to reading this book--not done yet, but I love it already!

  • Love this book so much!!!

  • Love Gaiman

  • I got this book today. I'm up to chapter two.

I never heard of this book until when I saw it in the book store. It's so great so far.

    Haha 'Nobody Owens'

    D'ya get it?

    oh lol.

  • The Graveyard book is so good, really pleasant to read, and so cute in a very dark way. I have waited very long for new Gaiman's story and I'm NOT disappointed

  • May be my favorite Gaiman story ... wow, did I just say that?

  • God I'm looking forward to reading this. Very much looking forward to the London reading on the 31st too!

  • I stole both this video's comment and rating virginity! The Graveyard Book was magnificent, by the way.
