I took a CFL bulb and I have this electronic grill ignitor and when I zap the bulb the area where I zap glows. last night I had this CCFL bulb from a dead portable DVD player and it flashed when I zapped the wires. when I get a couple of those bug zapper rackets I'll modify one and remove the grid and hook the CCFL light up to the wires and try that.
Does doing this hurt the bug zapper's HV circuits or is it OK?

@coondogtheman1234 Works best if there is a break in the filament, the spark jumps across the gap... lemme try with CFL...
