  • I think the CRKT dragon would be a good option for you if your looking for a new fighting knife CRKT is very high quality or a spyderco knife with the wave feature

  • I think the CRKT dragon would be a good option for you if your looking for a new fighting knife CRKT is very high quality

  • Have you ever considered a push dagger?

In my mind they are the perfect knife for weapon retention. Mainly because you can still use your hand somewhat while still holding the knife.

  • my mom and dad play force on force at night sometimes. i think my dad wins all the time cause my mom always sounds like she dying.

  • Lady,wow...you are so adorable and charming!

  • cute

  • Thats a wicked tanto blade, wish they would still make them. You should contact Mike Sastre of River City Sheaths. He makes some high quality kydex quick-draw sheath for almost any knife, especially Cold Steel knives.

  • Nice video. Is your Ti Lite 4 inch or 6 inch?

  • Awesome vid ... Love knives and great info .... So your video's are the best of both. keep up the good work ,

  • @limalife I can't believe i found my favorite knife by watching this video . the mini tango looks nice. gonna order one . Since i am using a cheap folding knife and it takes me a while on opening that darn thing.

  • Hot piece of ass.

  • very good points , something to consider when ccw ..good thoughts

  • Dude, you scare me to think that people walk our streets with weapons and wanting to use them.

  • @bullshipus123 welcome to the world of Humanity

  • @PolishedTurd4Life *welcome to the wold of paranoid dumbasses

  • @corpsemunger I knew you were from the UK before I clicked your channel. :/

  • @BabelOn4infinity Don't worry... If I lived in the US I would think the same thing. I actually posses more than 2 braincells

  • Why are you so armed up.In the richest country, once upon a time,in the world.I don't understand why are you so frightened of your own!!!!!!!

  • @rowanmark21

One only need watch the evening news and see how many women are abducted every day out of parking lots, grocery stores or even their home. Rich, doesn't mean safe.

  • force on force would be very hard to do against you.

  • I wish I could carry a fixed blade where I live...however I am relegated to a folding option only. We should all make sure to pay as much attention to the fight to take away our knife rights as much as we do for our firearm rights! I carry a Cold Steel TI-Lite as well (in addition to more of a utility knife)...love it...wicked blade for piercing cuts! Thanks for all of your vids!!!

  • You should get a nice cheap Karambit.... It loops around the finger and its easy to use. NO chance of you dropping it. Dont try to get fancy unless you have gone through proper martial arts training though. Good luck to you love your vids.

  • @jadmjt14 also... if u dont like folders go for spring assisted.

  • After seeing your video, I went and got the Ka Bar TDI Law Enforcement knife that you displayed. It's an awesome close quarter self-defense knife.

  • That Ka-Bar TDI fixed blade is good gear. Small, concealable, and easy to deploy in a grapple. Like you, I had my eyes opened about the importance of a knife for gun retention, and the value of fixed blades, through FoF training.

If limited to folders for legal reasons, the Spyderco blade hole is fairly easy to open with your off hand's thumb. More of a gross motor skill than flicking a thumb stud.

Some Spydercos include the "wave" 1-hand opening notch that you like on the CS Ti-Lite.

  • @classof77 "in a grapple"

what is wrong with you people?

  • @corpsemunger There were 720,000 aggravated assaults last year. (U.S. DOJ, 2010) I imagine few of those victims wanted to be in a violent struggle, and yet they were. You can learn to defend yourself, or you can let the meth freak bang your head against the concrete, if passivity is important to your self-image. Up to you.

But when you're ignorant on a subject, it's wise to read up about it, or take a class ... not get hormonal in random comments on the YouTube channels of informed people.

  • @classof77 I hate how you all think you are ninjas - you are not Aragorn, you are not James Bond, Bear Grylls, Jackie Chan etc.

You are a sad idiot who has seen some videos on youtube/read a few books... "informed"- PAHAHAHA

  • Did you ever find a sheath maker? What material and style sheath were you looking for?

  • limalife-- Have you ever considered a push dagger? The benefits of a pushcdagger is that they are very hard to dislodge from the hand one it is locked in, and as far as skill goes, if you can throw a punch you are in business.

Cold Steel makes a number of very reasonable push knives.

  • @usarmycaptainamerica Unfortunately, two-bladed fixed knives such as push daggers are subject to severe legal restrictions in most states. They're as "bad" as switchblades, if not worse.

Some states criminalize the carry of any fixed blade; you couldn't even carry a one-bladed FB like the Ka-Bar TDI knife. While others are more reasonable. Even in those that DO allow fixed blade carry, many criminalize the carrying of "daggers," "dirks", etc. -- that means a double-bladed knife is illegal.

  • @classof77 I have not researched other states, but I do believe at least in my state of Florida that with a Cocealed Carry Weapons lic. you have more autonomy regarding your choices.

You can get a single edged push knife with a blade that is one inch long or longer and with it in hand you can wreak alot of havoc on an attacker in a defensive situation.

The benefit of a push knife is it is great for less trained people awesome in the hands of those who are, and it is hard to lose your knife

  • @usarmycaptainamerica Yes, Florida's knife carry laws are very good for those with CCW permits -- can carry pretty much anything, including switchblades.

But in Ohio, for example, it's illegal to carry concealed any knife designed or intended as a weapon, and it doesn't matter whether you have a CCW or not.

  • Love the video ! We need more women like you taking an interest in tactical defensive options ! Keep on makings the wonderful videos ( button = thumb stud ) if you want a medium sized defensive fixed blade check out the ka bar tanto short

  • 1 make ur own sheath using tutorials on you tube

2 get a spyderco tenacious ( around $30 but still good quality be warned though it will rust a bit more than the $100 spydercos other than that still as great quality)

Or cheapest option practice opening your knife for at least 5 minutes everyday

  • WOW! Women getting more tactical?? AWSOME!!!!! Ok so many things to say first ill go with the less affordable but better quality opinions then go to more afordable medium quality opinions ok here goes

1 listen to sum foo below showing u a site i belive that they are nice kydex sheaths but may be less afordable

2 ur little button ( thumb stud ) problem could be fixed with a knife company called spyderco ( good quality around the $100 dollar price range) model called spyderco military is highly

  • Your awesome! If you ever wear a belt I highly recommend you carry two push daggers slightly behind both hips. I like Cold Steel's Safe Maker series. Switch the clip and have the grip hanging to the ground. They are easily concealed as your shirt or blazer hangs over them. When you feel threatened you can reach for the grips and it just appears like you are putting your hands in your back pockets. As you stagger your stance both blades will be ready as you move to your fighting position.

  • я бы ей вдул

  • why not strap the first knife you showd behind your firearm

  • I was trying to pay attention but I was distracted by your cats. :)

  • My question is extremely technical and complicated, so here goes...which knife did your cat prefer?

I'll have that one. Your cat seems very tactically proficient due to the various tail flicking and chair rubbing.

  • If you don't use folders because of the thumb stud (button) check out the knife company called spyderco they use what's called a thumb hole that's ambidextrous for both hands and they make a really good blade

  • @gaussbay

Agreed. I carry a mini grip on my strong side and a delica on my weak side because I find the thumb hole easier to manipulate with my weak hand. Seems like she's comfortable with the knives she chose, though, and if she can carry those legally where she lives, there's no real need to switch.

  • Hi Limalife,

Do a google for Mike Sastre he specialises in making tactical kydex knife sheaths, very well known and respected guy.

Cold steel have a really nice new compact fixed blade out (called the point guard) which seems to be something you would like .

    Take care.

  • I couldn't tell which size Ti Lite that is... maybe the 4" blade or is it the six " model ???

    Good Video.

  • Awesome, you come off as a sweet young women who bakes and does crafts, but then you carry some bad-ass tactical self defense weapons.

Consider a Spyderco Military (my EDC) for a folding blade that can compete with a fixed blade for tactical carry... may be big for some people.

  • Wow, you're hot, like guns, like knives AND cats...

    You're perfect....

    -and married :(

  • Spyderco with the deployment hole can be a good choice for weak hand deployment. Also as many people have mentioned the Spyderco collaboration with Emerson is good. One thing though is if you have a favourite Spydie without the wave feature, try a zip tie modification. Put it through the hole and clip off the excess. Works great.

  • Everyone has a plan in a fight until theyve been hit..

  • Hi there Lima, cool vid!

Just fyi, the hilt of a Japanese sword is called the "tsuba." Here's the Japanese character: 鍔

    Cheers!

  • Fascinating such psychosis: baby booming was never so much fun.

  • there needs to bemore women like you out there!! keep up the good work!

  • Very awesome videos!! You do great job...keep the vids coming :)

  • So cool I'm a fan give me more !!!

  • I'm so turned on right now...... Look at the Hide away knife.

  • If he doesn't steal your gun he will steal your knife. He could be an unarmed bum and you will be sure to arm him.

  • ..I sure like that ..KABARR, for the Scalawags in Manhattan. Teach me more pls.

  • Haha you're cats are adorable!

    - TxJ

  • i prefer butterfly knives and combat bayonets because of intimidation and ease with use

  • you should get the Espada xl super great knife, look it up!

  • @dbcrazyest98 The espada XL is bigger than lima

It is a great knife, but its way too huge.

  • "the button" = the thumb stud. ;) But you probably know that by now anyway.

  • You mentioned Kershaw brand knives. I've found a lot of their assisted opening knives with the index finger groove work very well on your support side. Even under stress it's easy to find and push open. May not be as fast as a fixed blade, but changing the clip so you carry with the point up will save time and maneuvering it in your hand. definitely will take up less real estate on your waist and pockets, little more comfortable and no sheath to worry about... IMO

    Great videos! Keep them comin

  • Great video but it isn't always possible to carry a fixed blade easily. Between car keys, house keys, a .45, a spare magazine, pepper spray, CS gas, a flashlight, lighter, smokes, and a mini flare about all I can fit is a folder. Spyderco makes some great ones and with a bit of practice they deploy quickly.

  • I favor folders, because in California you cant carry fixed blades concealed. Yup, you have to open carry fixed blades. And Police can still confiscate them if anyone complains.

  • @limalife

you should also check out the sog seal pup elite, it is larger then the mini tanto by a little bit but still has a 5 inch blade.

    thanks for the video

  • You should check out the Spyderco Endura Emerson Wave model.

  • Enter this search term here at youtube "Paul Vunak Knife Philosophy" and you'll see the basics of what we do

  • Enter these in the search box "Paul Vunak Knife Philosophy " ~ "Paul Vunak - The Reality of a Knife" ~ "Paul Vunak - Knife Defence". Vunak is the MAN and he will set you straight on how to effectively use a blade. Get his full videos and you'll see what I mean

  • I teach knife fighting.. Kali . Serrations are for "tool" purposes and are not good for a defensive blade. In order to effectively use a knife you have to be VERY aggressive, yet defensive, using avoidance. Please look at Paul Vunak's knife videos here at youtube to see how we train.. never has a subject been more mistaught by so many who have no clue how to effectively use a blade. Stabbing at an attacker with a short bladed knife, barring the eyes, is a great way to really tee them off.. cont~

  • If you ever do F.O.F. again with gas airsoft pistols, a little tip is that once the magazine is ejected the gun cant fire even if it is primed, because the power comes from the mag so even if a bb is in the chamber all pulling the trigger will do is release the hammer and dry fire. And btw great review on the kbar I think I might need to pick one up lol

  • You seem to be really into self defense and I think that that is good but do you live in a bad neighborhood?

  • @swirlcrop No where is safe today.. there are even brutal murders, home invasions and rapes, kidnappings in rural America now

  • @FFlint07 I really feel that our country is falling apart. In some states it´s illegal to carry a knife or a gun.

  • @swirlcrop Yes, it's part of the plan. Google ~The Money Masters~ and find the two part video on Google Videos, then you will know who is behind the madness

  • @FFlint07 Yes, I have a good idea who is behind the mess our country is in. Your videos are very infromative too. Thanks for posting them. :-)

  • @swirlcrop You are most welcome, my friend

  • Sally Housecoat with weapons -- yowza!

  • A good woman's perspective to say the least. Thanks for the post.

  • this womans awesome lol

  • I am a bit partial to the full size K-bar when I go back woods camping. I carry a street legal mini-Kbar. Very well balanced knife.

  • i wonder how many of you survivalist/SD proponents have actually ever faced an "animal".....i carry the ti-lite too...but not because of it's opening capabilities...i carry it because of that "click"...be it gun or knife that "click" will stop most wanna be animals....for most of ya'll the best defense is to run and scream as loud as you can....you are not an animal and you will never think or more importantly act like one...you have very little chance, no matter what weapon you carry...

  • Oh my god you are awesome!

You really research self defense, more than most guys actually!

  • You might look at an Emerson folding knife. they feature a spur-like protrusion on the blade's spine that causes the blade to open when drawn from a pocket. Its as if you are pulling a fixed blade out of your pocket.... the Emerson karambit design, with its talon shaped blade and finger loop are an excellent defense specific design.

Additionally, Ernest Emerson, the man behind the brand, is an amazingly honorable man, and the emerson knives carry one of the best warranties in the industry

  • holly crap! I think lima might be the most bad ass person I have ever seen on you tube! And I thought my girl was bad ass for loving to shoot my AR! She's feeding the kid and talking about knifes OMG! Hey lima have you ever looked in to the magpul hand gun stuff? Just the grip alone helps with weapon retention let alone with hitting what your aiming at! Me and a cop trained buddy tested the grip out and he couldn't take the gun from me as hard as he tried with that grip. F.Y.I

  • @limalife Like the way u held the knife @8:15, that show real knife train at work. I am not much of a knife guy but I do have some train and may be after this video I might contemplate getting one...

  • an important tool in my EDC is my Nimravus cub lite ( fixed blade) by Benchmade

  • I think your hair looks really nice, great vid, thanks!

  • Great video! thanks for sharing your revalation as to why you should carry a knife. in my experience when someone is inches from you, you often dont have room/time to draw a firearm, my rule of thumb is closer than 3 feet im probably going to go for my knife.

  • heard from ur channel thru patriotnurse. good vid really like the kabar tdi

  • watch out your baby might stab itself in the foot OMGGGGG

folders are better you seem to only think your opinion is a fact.....girls like to do that lol

you dont need that much protection too god u must have a stalker or your VERY PARANOID

  • watch out your baby might stab itself in the foot OMGGGGG

folders are better you seem to only think your opinion is a fact.....girls like to do that lol

  • look at those fingers, someone is developing rheumatoid arthritis

  • @Vthesurety1 punk

  • Great video. I never thought about fixed blade for defense or that my dominate hand could be injured.

  • I read the comment about you being paranoid. I am pretty sure that I know why he thought that. At one point in the video you stated that you had the TDI fixed blade on your support side and a tri-lite in your front pocket. I sincerely hope that you do not feel the need to carry that much cutlery. My recommendation for what it is worth is to carry the tri-lite, it happens to be what I carry. The reason why folding knives are best for self defense is that you will carry it...bird in the hand.

  • what is the steel type on the ka-bar TDI??

  • Great video! This got me thinking more about carrying a knife along with my pistol. Fortunately for me, I shoot with my left, but handle a knife with my right, so I wouldn't have any dexterity issues. Again, thanks for the video!

  • great as usual. its so hard to conceal a fixed blade on certain body types that i think females have more of an advantage if they use the element of surprise. most males think females are unarmed and i would have an advantage if a man could not see my gun/knife until he is too close to retreat or react, imo.think purse snatchers/rapists that view us as as easy targets.

  • Attach a 1W 445nm Spartan Laser to that Ti-lite and you can blind the attacker after so he cant ID and sue you for cutting him :D or in case you need to defend yourself from a Jedi.. and with a deployment rate = light speed and a range of 9.3-16.39 miles , you can reflect off satellites and hit potential aggressors anywhere in the world :] and then some

  • can u carry a gun to street ?

  • @shittyfuck yes in most of the united states it is legal to carry a concealed firearm.

  • @chipmunksoi or in some particular country u cant ?

  • @shittyfuck that's correct

  • I used to carry a tdi when I worked sercurity. It was at times the perfect deterent when working in places with people that are considered "high risk".

  • That is flat out awesome. I wish more woman thought like you. My wife is scared of guns and knives.

  • @967evil your wife should not be afraid of guns/knives/self defense if trained. i am female and i took karate for womens defense, knife tactics and im on my way to ccw.the only thing i would be afraid of now is not being prepared.i used to be afraid of guns, too.ask your wife to watch the channels and get information. home invasions and attacks that happen today didnt happen 50 yrs ago. its time.

  • Your personality makes me smile

  • no offense but this could very well be the beginning of a Quentin Tarantino movie

  • I've seen 1 knife fight before out of no where from across the street. Both guys ended up going to the hospital in an ambulance bleeding seriously.

  • Reading the responses on all of the videos that I watch I have come to the conclusion that no matter how good your advice or opinion there will be someone who has to disregard your advice and spout their own opinion. I can really find no fault with your advice even if I might not do it the same way myself. There are entirely too few knowlegable ladies out there. So keep up the good work and perhaps you can bring a few more of the "weaker" sex on board and maybe some more ladies too.

  • I'm a weapon collector and I specialize in knives and most folders are better for defense

  • @Jtninja62 - Just interested ...do you feel it's because they are easy to conceal ..have an attachment clip ...are easier to get access to? Thanks!

  • @Jtninja62 - Also, I'm sure you're already aware of this...but it was fascinating to watch the Massaad Ayoob police training video, in which participants tested their ability to close fifty feet of distance and attack with a knife, versus an armed victim recognizing the threat and pulling and aiming a firearm. In every case, even the least physically fit agressor was able to complete the attack before the victim was able to aim a firearm and defend. Amazing...

  • @Jtninja62 Based on what? Speed? Every video or demonstration I have ever seen comparing draw times of a fixed vs folding blade knife have found the fixed blade to be MUCH faster. Concealability? Yes, maybe it's easier to conceal a folder but trying to dig something out of your pocket when you need it NOW seems to go against the whole point of having a knife to begin with.

So, on what do you base your theory that folders are better than fixed blades for defense? I'm genuinely curious.

  • @limalife I've never met ninja boy, but I'll throw in my two cents. I carry a Kershaw leek knife, it has the assisted opening and it's a nicely made knife. If fits nice and tight on my right pocket with the belt clip, and it won't go anywhere unless I want it to. Now, I can guarantee you that I can get the kershaw out of my pocket and into action just as fast as you could the Kabar TDI. Now, the TDI is a nice knife and all, but the kershaw and other assisted opening knives are easily concealed.

  • @coltpax I won't argue with you. If you think you are that fast, great! All I know is what I have experienced. In the knife class I just got back from EVERYONE (including me) tested their speed with a fixed blade vs a folder. There was Kershaw Onion there with an assisted opening and everyone was slower with the folder vs the fixed blade. It's just the way it was. I'm not saying folders shouldn't be carried. I still carry one for the ease of concealment but they aren't as fast under stress.

  • And of course I realize that in some states you cannot carry fixed blades or you need to carry them openly, etc and I understand the need to compromise with a folding knife and I would rather make that compromise than not have a knife on me but wherever legal or able I am always going to default to a fixed-blade over a folder especially after doing two days worth of drills and sparring demonstrating the differences. There is no doubt in my mind which is easier to operate under stress.

  • @limalife Well while you guys have fun with your knives, imma just go with a KORD 12.7mm heavy machinegun :D

  • @coltpax micriotech out the front is the best of both worlds. Price may be a ditterent

  • @gatorfred8 Price is a big deterrent with those. I've looked at them, still aint justified spending so much on a knife that I could spend on a gun.

  • @coltpax I read a story about a fellow with a folding knife. He was doing a demo and the lock failed. It was lucky he was wearing leather gloves or his finger would have been gone.

  • @limalife well with folders you use the pocket clip so u just pull it off and flick it out no need to fumble with a sheath and people won t notice a folder as easily

  • @limalife you can get a nice sheath made here River City Sheaths

  • @limalife you can get a nice sheath made here rivercity sheaths.com

  • @limalife you can get a nice sheath made here

  • @Jtninja62 dont call yourself a a "weapon collector" when you dont even know the basics

  • @Jtninja62

Just curious but what makes a 19 year old knife collector an expert on what type of knife for self defence is best? Like I said, you're 19 years old. Have you ever been in combat using a blade? Are you an edged weapon expert or instructor? Have you taken certain courses on the use of edged weapons in combat so as to be a judge of which knives are best?

    Just curious is all.

  • Why would she have to be scared? Im a healthy 22yr old adult male. I carry a 357mag on the ankle my 45 1911 and 2 knives and extra rounds daily. I'm not scared. I'm prepared and so is she. Hell I almost feel bad for the dude that try's to take her purse.

Just curious How well do you pattern at say 7 yd with your 1911.

Just wondering, saw some guys last weekend at the range pattern in a 2in circle...

not me! lol maby they just shoot a lot.

  • LL, I just bought a patch with your picture on it -- just came in the mail today! Really> Google "guns and coffee".

  • I believe the type of one handed opening you're talking about, where the lip on the blade of the Ti-Lite catches on the edge of your pocket is called a "wave" style opening. Just FYI. I like the videos too, keep them coming.

  • this is one woman i would never want to try to mess with. it always makes me happy seeing people like you that actively prepare for worst case scenarios.

  • We use the TDI trainer in defensive roles to counter martial arts submissions. Under this kind of stress a person only has a few seconds before a limb can be broken or a loss of conciousness. A small fixed blade like this with proper training can save your life. The blade can easily get into an arm pit, cut a wrist or throat or be pushed between the ribs. Sorry to be graphic, but it's reality. There are alot more threats out there than just guns and knives. Great video you know your stuff.

  • lol is your cat part tiger?

  • I have a Cold Steel Mini Tanto, it's so pretty. It's just a tad too small for my clumsy man's hands tho.

  • This is much better than the typical inarticulate male knife nerd video featuring a hairy arm!

  • Comment removed

  • i love the ti lite i carried one for 2 years then someone stole it from me when it was in my dormroom

  • @soldier0931 Aww, that stinks.

I had a Kershaw Chive that my brother bought me about seven years ago. I loved that knife but I lost it last year while running like a mad woman across a foot ball field in the dead of night..lol. I went to find it but never did. It had way more sentimental value than anything but it was a good knife.

  • @pjwhitehouse1 Way I see it, your asking for trouble if you can't defend yourself. Not my original thought, but that is the case.

  • @pjwhitehouse1 No, I've never had to use a knife on anything more aggressive than a mean steak.

And I'm sorry you think I live in fear. Everyone jumps to the conclusion that the carrying of any defensive tool means the carrier is "in such fear" and I'm not sure why that is.

    It's just not true.

I don't want any trouble from anyone. I would prefer to go the rest of my life without having to pull a knife on anything other than a mean steak.

  • @limalife

Yeah, same intention here on (right präp.?) carrying knives for self-defense issues.

  • @limalife Agreed! just because I buckle my safety belt everytime I get in a car, doesn't mean I live in fear :)... take care!

  • @pjwhitehouse1 She is a beautiful woman, with a child, maybe more then one. Who is small both in stature and muscle mass. God forbids she wants to live to see her child graduate from college. I am a 6'3" 230 pounds MMA fighter and even I still carry a gun and knife for self protection. It's better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it. Personally I feel more women need to carry self defense weapons.

  • @sotik ......Get real.....I can only laugh at this. Please dont waste my time with anymore responses. If women are going missing every day where you live, you just might be...in the twilight zone.....

  • @pjwhitehouse1 Sorry you live inside a cave and don frequent the news much. Look at your local missing persons report each week. $1,000 bet that there is a new list of people 90% of them being females and children on that list every week. That or you are either a hermit who lives in solitude in the middle of the Antarctic. Any county with more then 4 towns in it will have new missing peoples reports every week with new people on it.

  • @pjwhitehouse1 And I didn't even mention the amber alerts we get on our television EVERY day. Don't believe, give me your email address in a PM. I will scan my local papers and missing persons report and send them to you. People need to wake up, we don't live in a world where everyone holds hands. There is evil out there, and sadly women and children are on the top of a kidnappers list.

  • @pjwhitehouse1 Also not trying to start no fight here or spam the video. But sad fact is that our news only covers 1% of violent attacks in America a year. They would much rather talk about Paris Hilton who made another sex tape then the 50 women who got killed and rapped today. I live in Northern California far from the big cities and every day a woman near where I live has gone missing, and every day another one is found day. Yes its sad we live in fear in our own country but there's a reason.

  • @pjwhitehouse1 I dont think being prepared is a bad thing. I would rather carry for the rest of my life and never use it, than not carry and need it just once. That makes no sense at all. If you choose not to defend yourself, that is your choice. I am trying to get my gf to get her carry licence. Then Im going to buy her a damn machine gun if thats what she chooses to carry. Call it fear if you want, but the world can be an ugly place sometimes. Ignore it if you want. Dont criticise.

  • @pjwhitehouse1 A knife is part of a defensive triad, along with her choice of defensive/offensive handgun and her training with that, again her choice of knife and her training with that, and how skilled she is with her hand-hand combat, if you are a soldier you should understand the triad effect since you probably were preached about it in your own basic (im not attacking you just putting her views into perspective)

  • @pjwhitehouse1 It's silly to put someone down who we clearly need in society. If there are malevolent people in society who want to hurt innocent people then logically we need the other extreme or all the non-combative innocents will be victims by default.

The fact is that it is a great and necessary thing for there to be people like Limalife, who naturally enjoy thinking in these terms. And NO ONE should try to stop them from being the way they are. That would be a big mistake for society.

  • Im pretty sure charlie manson preached the same shit...get real losers.....you are all mindless cattle......and a knife will protect you from nothing.....stop preaching your ignorance. all of you fools............

  • @pjwhitehouse1 So wait.... Why did you volunteer to fight a war again?

  • @pjwhitehouse1 Funny you should use the word fool; ridicule is the FIRST and LAST argument of the FOOL....FOOL

  • @pjwhitehouse1 Hey, leave this nice Lady alone please.

  • parlusk here on you tube could probably make you a nice sheath for the mini tanto: kydexbyparlusk*com, PM him, he's a good guy.

  • dude you have some beast knives!

  • There are a ton of knives out there that deploy when you take them out. Although the Ti-Lite seems to be the most well known, the original was actually Emerson, and all of their excellent blades have a wave opener (and are easier to deploy IMO than the Ti-Lite). Another option, as previously mentioned, is the Spyderco Delica/Endura with a wave opener, or in fact ANY knife with a hole instead of a stud for opening with a zip tie modification (which is what I do). Search "zip tie wave."

  • Very practical choices. Fixed blades are no doubt stronger and simpler than folders, but unfortunately are illegal to conceal in many states. I live in Virginia, which is a pretty gun-friendly state, and "dirks and bowie knives" are illegal, concealed anyway. Not a big fan of open carry under most circumstances, especially with knives. Many fixed blades aren't technically "dirks" or "bowie knives," but it'll cost you a pretty penny in attorney fees arguing that with the judge. The "wave"

  • @wcropp1 deployment feature, or something similar, can be found on Emerson, Spyderco, Cold Steel, and other knives. As others have mentioned, if you're space restricted, they can be problematic though. Practicing the thumb stud/opening hole deployment is a good idea just in case. That TDI seems easy to conceal and deploy as far as fixed blades go, and probably makes for very intuitive defensive maneuvers as far as weapon retention goes. Right now I'm debating switching to weak-side knife carry,

  • @wcropp1 which can be awkward when reaching for your knife for utility use, but advantageous from a defensive perspective, which is no doubt when it's more important. Guess that's a good excuse to carry another knife, but I already carry so much crap I'm starting to feel like Batman. Thanks for the video. Stay safe.

  • Take a look at the Spyderco delica or endure model folders WITH emerson wave. same principal as your folder, but I think a more durable knife. The two models are almost the same, but with different blade lengths being the main difference.

  • What is the legal age for a Cold Steel Ti-Lite???

  • A fairbairne stykes would be my choice of a fixed blade used only for defence. Thick blades can get caught on ribs, they're heavy, cumbersome, and longer blades cause more damage than fatter blades. Plus you can't twist a thick blade in a wound, it may seem cruel but it will make someone stop.

By the way, try stabbing something with the k bar and feel where the pressure in your wrist is, then try it with a knife where the blade is aligned with the handle.

    PS. don't reverse your grip.

  • @ihaterobbie123 The Fairbairn-Sykes was made with one purpose in mind - sneaking up behind sentries, sticking a hand over their nose and mouth, and sticking that 7" blade in the side of their neck.

The reverse grip is frequently used by some hard-core folks. It wasn't Fairbairn's choice because he knew fencing well, so his knife was designed for someone using fencing-like techniques, not reverse-grip techniques.
