Hey i have a question please answer this question so listen can you transfer a game in a usb stick and transfer the data in a computer or you can just transfer videos and pictures in a copmuter so please help me please
Size limit? I guess if the size limit was decent, the guy would have said how much it was. So I'm guessing it's not really "big files" we're talking about here. They exemplified it with a 26M file, that's not big, it's just 10M over Gmail's limit.
That guy looks like he knows how to share a big file. Pretty sure I saw him on a Craigslist ad in "women for men" with hair extensions on and he claims he's post op.. He also provided a picture of what it looks like... Yeah, disastrous. If anyone happens to go through with her, let us know if the $10 a night is worth it.
@Hokrollo1 No, it is real, I think it's the fastest in my country (Brazil), they had to come and install optical fiber and all. It's via optical fiber...
Well then I'm just embarrassed, and feeling that I live in some development country - max here is 100 Mb/s, which is only for a VERY limited amount of people. Even not available for people like me living in the capital.
@Hokrollo1 Yeah, I just went to their website and check, the company also offers 100M, so my connection is not the fastest... that is a little disappointing...
@Hokrollo1 It's 100 Mbps, that's the fastest. It costs U$ 128 a month. Mine is 30 Mbps. But they're never really as fast as they advertise. The advertised speed is the maximum that can be offered, but the actual speed may vary depending on whatever... And it never is at its maximum.
@Hokrollo1 Oh, the connection in this video is 200 Mbps? Now I get it! lol That makes more sense...! You may think it's cheap, but it's all a big scam. I don't know how these things work wherever you are, but here in Brazil these companies are required by law to effectively offer only 10% of the advertised speed. So, even though I hired a 30 Mbps service, my connection can reach lows of 3 Mbps, for any period of time; and it is not illegal for them to give me just 3 Mbps. It's pretty ridiculous.
Well I suppose it's because it's simply impossible for the companies to for example give you just as little as 80 % efficiency in rural areas outside the big cities. But if you live in the big urban areas I'm pretty sure you would get 90-95 % efficiency all the time, as that's the places where they keep the servers. Also what I mean with 200 is that it says 25 Megabytes per second (MBps), which is 200 Megabit per second (Mbps). Those are 2 different kind of numbers. 8 bit = 1 byte
@Hokrollo1 Yeah I got the B b thing. But listen to this, I just went to a speedtest website and it tells me that my connection now is 4 Mbps, which is just a little over the minimum required by law. Right now there's a project in congress to change the law, from 10% to 70% minimum. I understand that there are variables that make it impossible to precise the connection's efficiency, but to me it seems that 10% is really a rip-off...! If not the law or the speed, they should change the ads.
@SkedgySky Google has a 10 Gbps (10,240Mbps) fiber optic backbone running into the heart of their mountain view campus, they actually throttle their connection to prevent bottlenecks. Hence why they are working on piloting a fiber to the home ISP that provides a 1Gbps (1,024Mbps) connection.
While most ISPs provide a symmetrical connection, faster download than upload. Fiber and backbone lines are symmetrical and consequently cost twice s much as the same tier of speed in asym.
You know what, Google? I need an online storage space like SkyDrive from Windows, that works with my Google Account. That's the biggest thing I'm waiting for from you.
If it is a file syncing service like Dropbox, for people who haven't yet moved completely to the cloud, even better. Suggestion: Why not try purchasing Dropbox altogether?
@fslinky07 even happier if you got sensitive files like sth your boss gave you (given that u are an accountant... or product designer) with the "great" security on DB
@fslinky07 Using an unnecessary third party like Dropbox or Google is slow and doesn't have good privacy. It's far better to send it directly. BitTorrent is a possibility which has the advantages of guaranteed non-corrupted files and good speed, but there are many more.
when i think big file i think 2GB and upwards.. a 25MB file is rather small
MakayMurray 2 months ago
@MakayMurray 25 is larger than most email systems allow. Most users could easily pass this and not the 2gb file.

@SkedgySky you know the 26 mb is the size of the file? and 100 mbps is insane

@SkedgySky My connection is 30M. I think Google's bandwidth must be higher than mine...
grandexandi 3 months ago
@grandexandi
30 Mb/s probably. Small b = bit, big B = Byte. So 25 Megabyte/second = 200 Megabit/second. 1 byte = 8 bit.
Doubt you have that. Then it must be your company or something.

Okay then it's neither this guy's 25 MBps, or 200 Mbps. However 128 is pretty cheap, it's almost 200 US $ here for a 100 Mbps.

@fslinky07 Dropbox is $10 a month. It would cost you far less to use google storage or amazon storage and cloudberry free app. .69 a month or so.
