@lilkunz24 yes, there is a key on the spline that will line up the wheel. also, be careful not to turn the coil while the steering wheel is off the column as this will mis-align the coil. The net, technically, should be torqued to specs, but I just make sure it is good and tight. If you need to upgrade your old leather steering wheel, or add a premium wood/leather wheel, contact me.
@autowoods I was thinking of getting an airbag off a salvage car that was wrecked. I really dont need bag to work, I prefer it not to, it almost broke my nose.
@Lherrerajr No, the steering wheel can remain on the column while you swap out the spoke covers. You will need to remove the airbag and the retention bracket underneath before the spoke covers can exchanged. Hope that helps.
@maggio211 Picture does not show them installed, but your RH and LH control switches will mount to the upgrade Autowoods decorated spoke covers or the original spoke covers. My mistake for not installing them back on before taking the pictures for this video. Thanks for viewing! Let me know if I can assist you further. victor , Autowoods
@0123mala Even thought they appear exactly similar on the outside, the airbag retention bracket is different. You would not be able to attach this bracket from the Traverse steering wheel frame onto the Silverado steering wheel frame. Hope this helps. victor@autowoos.com
You are mistaken, I have specilized GM Airbag Systems training and have taught certified GM licensed classes. What is your background qualifications to make a "death statement"? Is this your opinion? Airbag needs both current and voltage to deploy. How can airbag receive both these requirements anytime? Please think before you make statements that will scare the public.
@ErikMartinez454 No. A 1998 GM truck airbag is drastically different than a 2007. It would not function properly and the electrical wiring is different as well.
You do not loose control feature when adding a new upgrade wood steering wheel. Your controls are added to the spoke covers when the steering wheels are exchanged. Our GM wood steering wheels are based on OEM leather steering wheels that have been upgraded to add real wood bonded to the steering wheel frame. Thanks for your comments and question. Rgds, Autowoods
i like the wood grain steering wheel,,,, but why remove my OEM wheel and loose all the controls >?????? it doesnt make sense, its like downgrading ur car, i have a ltz car and want to keep ltzgoodies, if u guys come out with the same look and have the option to keep steering wheel controls it would be better
@autowoods Airbag removal video...What year is it? They are all different. Some are metric. Some have a 10mm bolt head. Some have a torques head bolt (or screw) and some you just need a short screw driver to pop the tabs loose. I'm a chick and I know more than you. You guys, make everything so difficult. gm engineergirls doit right....
If the airbag light remains on, it means you have a fault code on your airbag electronic system. Have you removed any parts recently, airbag? fuse? steering wheel? It could be a simple fix as a connector improperly connected. or it could be a problem with a sensor or SDM airbag computer. Your airbag lamp should flash when you turn on ignition switch, then stop flashing. If the lamp remains lit, then you have an issue that needs to be resolved.
