that is the first think I noticed as well.....her unaffected voice....like my mother who has never smoked or drank and still sounds like a young woman at 73.
She must have lived a very clean lifestyle... Her speaking voice is as high and as clear here as it was when she first came on the scene a generation earlier.
Ironically, in this very same show, Australian Linda Kerridge from FADE TO BACK (1980) was also introduced to the French Tv viewers. Who remembers her now ?
What a great post ! I realize she was unique and seemed so adorable. She was here 82 and how gorgius she was. I love when she sings, so charming, this marvelous song I didn't know. Great great moment with this legend ! Thousands of thanks !
Swanson is utterly terrific, but the host never lets her get a word in edgeways! Total amateur. And why culdn't they let her sit down? Great upload, though, thank you!
I saw her in 1982 plugging her book on a local TV show; I was in the audience. Her health had taken a dramatic turn for the worse by then, was much thinner, and had to be helped walking. But it's nice to see her here.
10.15sec: 'Madame Sans-Gene' is the lost flim Ms Swanson was referring to.
Made in 1925, it was a silent romantic comedy/ costume drama starring Gloria Swanson. A great deal of the film was produced in France as Swanson was on extended vacation there.
A long lost film which Swanson so yearned to view again.
I found a copy of "Swanson on Swanson" a few years ago. With her autograph on it!! It's dedicated to "Jean Claude" a fan who met her I guess. It's incredible to put my finger on this words, written by her own hand... I fancy I can feel the energy of the Lady... It's one of my greatest treasures...
Her face looked so fine for her age, I wonder what she did to keep it like that. It's a pity she didn't make many films after Sunset Boulevard.

If you notice the host touched or almost touched her chest when pointing at the medal and she slap his hand away politely. She's a lady sir lol.

She was a health food advocate since the 1920's. Clearly it kept her beautiful.
