You are probably referring to embryonic stem cells which kills a life, Perhaps you are completely unaware that stem cells can come from umbilical cords or your own body, there is nothing immoral or evil in that. Let's take Christianity back thousands of years. Something as simple as a pain killer was magic & a person performing the magic potion of a pill to relive pain was to be burnt at the stake. Your own stem cells grown outside your body then re-injected can repair any organ, stem cells can even repair the cells that determine our age. Is it playing God to extend our lives through stem cells? If so then it's way too late to worry about that. Every time a paramedic raises the dead he interferes with that life which should have died. Every time you take a vitamin you extend your life. For every organ transplant they play God, for every person given intravenous fluids should have died of dehydration. Putting a person on life support. We play God all of the time. Stem cells are no different.
