Love the comments. This was a "FUN"draiser for teeboxes for one of our oldest courses in Houston. This video was just to build some excitement for the event. I'd like to thank all the pro's again for lending me a minute of their time. Stop reading so much into the video. It was a fun day, and we raised a good bit of money for the course.
Why does the Buzzz always get compared to the Roc? Their flight characteristics are nothing alike. A Buzzz is much more like a Mako (they're shaped almost exactly the same!). Near as I can tell, they're simply both old, beloved models that everyone tends to own, but the "rivalry" is about as meaningful as this video demonstrates -- brand loyalty seems to be far more important than disc characteristics.
The Buzzz is not a copy of the Roc. If it was intended to be such, then I'm glad the attempt was a failure. Buzzz- straight to understable. Roc- can go straight but overstable. I carry both, always will.
@CrazyJesseful ~ That's true their system is less than informative -- this is why I prefer Innova discs, I know what I'm buying when I pick one up.
And it is true that the flight characteristics of a Buzzz and a Roc are nothing alike.
But there's nothing slightly under stable about a Buzzz. There are people who can put so much snap on a disc that even a flat stable or mildly over stable disc will turn over, but that doesn't make the disc slightly under stable.
This is a pretty stupid video.......of course these pros who are sponsored by Innova or Discraft are going to go with typical answers. They are both great discs.........as a player whose used both over the years, I prefer the Buzzz, I think it is more consistent. Not really a fan of how Innova does the Roc.......why isn't there a regular run production Champion Roc??
Asking such a question to pro players will not give objective answers. They are paid to be loyal to a brand name. Dave McCormick is a visionary about this issue. Let players throw everything, but when they are asked about discs, they can give the company line. This is what Nikko Locastro does, and it is icing on the cake that he seems to genuinely like and trust Gateway discs. Btw, the Element is a great all purpose disc, too.
@dscjnky I won't say the Buzzz is a copy of the Roc. One is beveled, beaded and domey (Roc) and the other is flat with much smoother rim (Buzzz). Sure they are capable of similar results, but one is not a copy of the other.
They are both great. I carry a KC Roc and a Buzzz SS. They compliment each other very nicely.
Imo Buzzz is little bit better its more stable and form but like genscales said, it se thrower behind the disc not the disc :) i also like roc alot, its more overstable :)
@azurenscens Jenkins is Team Innova. Innova wouldn't be happy if their team members said a buzz was better. They all know the roc has nothing on the Buzzz, just can't admit it!
@genscales i kinda agree but they do such different things in my opinon, a buzz just goes as strait as an arrow and has a good fade where a rock has some shape to its flight, so if u need to throw a midrange like 250with a little turnover to the right, i couldnt make a buzz do it and a roc will. and a buzz will not turn over. its just strait as they come, which is handy in alot of cases. but if i had to pick one. i would go with a roc. there is also so many different types of rocs that fly diff.

@CrazyJesseful ~ Buzzz is actually rated at just slightly over, not under, stable.

@jhimm Discraft makes excellent discs, but I feel there disc-rating system is seriously lacking in dimension. (and is just plain wrong)

Like Dave said "the Buzz is just a copy of a Roc".
Just like a Challenger wants to be an Aviar.

Why didn't they ask any players not sponsored by Innova or Discraft like Nikko

obviously these pro's are just going to vouch for their sponsors. buzzz beats the roc any day

The Buzzz was just an attempt at a good ROC...

i played in this it was a good but VERY hot day,,i have 3 buzzz,s already so i desided to go with a roc.
i like the roc it flies great but i still like my buzzz better :)

Buzzz versus Roc. The age old debate on what is better. Really, it doesn't make a damn bit of difference. It's the thrower behind the disc.

Eventhough, the ROC is confirmed for Righteousness (LOL), the Buzz will win. It is the newer, and therefore the more advanced technology.
