can anyone help an old guy with gp2x emulator installation? years ago I had so much fun with emulators on my pc. I can't get any f'ing handheld emulators to work, or the rom won't run. AAARGH!
I've not actually played a Dingoo, but for me the bigger selling point for the Wiz is the touch screen, because I'm a big Scummvm fan, and even though you can play Scummvm games without the touch screen it's a lot more frustrating. Also if you'll read the comment below here, you'll see the Dingoo has a problem with not letting you hit the B and Y buttons at the same time. Both systems have flaws though, so you should just consider what your priorities are.
Is that without any skipped frames, the SNES emulation? I got the Dingoo A32o, and that played SNES games, but I couldn't hold the B and Y buttons down at the same time, and it skipped frames otherwise there'd be slowdown.
Is this worth getting for the console emulation? (sorry about the questions, but I like my SNES games, and having them on the move would be pure WIN on a stick)
I don't remember what settings I had this on, however I can tell you that I absolutely love this thing for console emulation, and haven't had any complaints.
On the SNES emulator, StarFox doesn't run, unless agonizingly slow is fast enough for you. I expect there will be improvements int he emulator, after all, the SNES only ran at 4 Ghz, and this toy runs at 533 Mhz. It's a software problem from what I can tell, not a limitation of the HW.
Well, I'm not gonna be running Starfox on it then. Oddly enough on the Dingoo, Super Mario World had frame-rate trouble whilst it runs almost flawlessly on the GP2X. The only problem (which might be due to hardware) is a diagonal line which appears when you're moving at a slightly quick pace.
4 Ghz?! :P The problem with emulation is that not only do you need to emulate the CPU, but also the custom hardware, which is usually alot more CPU intensive then the actual CPU.
Yeah but Arino actually got to look at the screen, not at a computer montior off to one side that had some lag and was recording through a poor camera. I have actual reasons to be bad. He has no excuse.
How are the controls on the Wiz? Comfortable/nice to use?

Oh, and even though it's hard to tell it from this video, the Wiz has a very, VERY nice screen. :)

thanks man you are very helpful!

B and Y problem was fixed, but your other points are still valid. Including the screen, it's smexy.

Hmm, well this is definitely convincing me to shell out for one.

You know, you might want to try the GBA emulator - as far as I can tell with limited testing,it runs absolutely flawlessly. I was just testing gpSP.
Super Mario World will run just fine there. So does Sonic, so does Donkey Kong Country. FLAWLESS.
The Dingoo is about 1/2 the speed of the GP2xWiz, but it's also half the price. That's why you get frameskip there.
I think the diagonal line is actually a FIRMWARE issue, but don't take my word for it. You won't notice after a bit anyhow.
