@apollokrishna And all around!...being a fully enlightened Master he is no longer the egoistic personality trapped in the body and mind, but he is only identified with the all Pervasive Consciousness, and the is the true nature of the Guru, and is also our fundamental nature too.
@yesinfinity Paramhansa means "supreme swan," and is based on the swan being equally at home on land or water. Similarly, the true sage is equally at home in the realms of matter and of spirit. Yogananda means bliss of yoga.
@SuperNaitch1 He was one of the most positively transforming forces this world has ever seen. His presence healed and lifted so many people out of suffering. So we cannot equate 'cult' here with anything negative. He may have been a leader, but he only lead people towards the highest good. You could try reading his ‘Auto biography of a Yogi’, it’s utterly life changing.
@yesinfinity Yogananda is rooted in two Sanskrit words, 'yoga' means 'union' & 'ananda' means 'bliss' so Yogananda mean 'blissful union (with God)'. Paramhansa was a honorific title given to him by his Master Sri Yukteswarji to signify his exalted spiritual state after attaining Realisation. ‘Para’ means ‘great’ or ‘supreme’ and ‘hansa’ mean ‘swan’. Swan here is a metaphor for freedom, so ‘Paramhansa’ can translate as ‘supreme freedom’ as it denotes his high level of Enlightenment.
Such a joy seeing a Master looking at me like this. I feel him right beside me, helping me to succeed in my spiritual journey. Thank you for this beautiful video. I love You Master!
Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!.............those two twinkling eyes........appear like mother's lap..luving, serene, blessing n like a calm refuge for a bewildered traveler of this world....:)
@niyaami yeah, awesome and awesome unfathomable loving eyes you dont come across these days. like einstein said of gandhi, swamiji's disciple, generations to come will scarce believe that such a person has ever walked the earth!
@baliraam Yeah it’s hard to believe that such beings come to this world only to lift us up out of our own self-created pain & suffering. Most people cannot accept something so genuine and selfless. Amma is probably the best living example we have around today.
Thank you so much for creating such a tasteful video of one of the most sentient human beings I have ever encountered. What wonderful eyes and smile - touched my heart so deeply and made me cry throughout it all like I haven't cried in a long time... Thank you and Swami Kriyananda again and thanks to your beloved Gurudev for sharing so generously God's Grace with us all.
I resist gurus generally but looking at Paramahansa's face in these numerous photos, the level of peace and acceptance and the beauty that emanates from it, brought tears to my eyes. Not tears from dogma or self-promotion but from clear spirituality clearly and simply projected and lived. Thank you for these!

Bowing at His feet! So wonderfully embraced by his love and guidance. There are no words that can express my appreciation for His presence in my life. ... Love the music, only a soul deeply in love can create this heart warming hymn to the Master. Jai, Jai Guru!
Thank you so much for posting these rare images of Yogananda- I discovered his writings/works about two years ago and I'm so thankful I found them. He was an individual of incredible inner-strength, dedicating his life as an "incarnation of love" to the entire world- recognizing the Truth in all beliefs. I'm still fasinated by this heaven sent individual. Blessingings to you, Paramahansa!
Indian saints make an effort to integrate all religions. That is why India has welcomed every faith that has come to its land and seen no conflict with their own faith!
thank you for this moving video. No surprise He is wearing a Cross, He always prayed: " Saints of all religions, I bow to you all" and he commented splendidely in
@ashutoshpanwar no, God is not religion, God is a higher state of consciousness, and each religion has a high awareness, but have limiting beliefs and leave no advance in spirituality, only to a point that religions have their interest for control, God is a state of spiritual awareness universal ,and religion is just a higher state of consciousness that has a limit and that limit is that religion makes.
@zhenyame Yes, Paramahansa recognized the truth in all beliefs. He frequently quoted Jesus from the New Testament as well as ancient Hindu scripture. Start with the books "Autobiography Of A Yogi" and "Where There Is Light" for the best introductions on his teachings.
@zhenyame hehehehe, he had to make a fortune in a country of christians hence had to wear a cross... when there were enough amount of people struggling with problems in his homeland, at that time he was enjoying his peak of his career in a country like US.
@zhenyame Yes, he was deeply devoted to Christ, though in itself the cross is also a powerful symbol. Kind of off-topic, but still of interest: his chief disciple, Rajarshi Janakananda, also sometimes wore a cross.
Thank you for your effort and posting this for all. Avatar Paramahansa Yogananda was truely a Divine incarnation of pure Love and Wisdom and he is present each time we think of him.
Thank you for this gift of these beautiful photos of the Master... me too, it has brought tears. The last photo feels like radiating blessings directly from his hands.
