Why does everyone think Cyndi Lauper is putting Madonna down? All she said is she thinks Madonna wore the corset because she thought it looked good. Cyndi Lauper has had ten top 40 hits, eight of which went top ten, two of which went all the way to number one. Why would she be jealous of Madonna? I saw another interview where she said she did not feel competitive with Madonna because she is a "sister." That interview was in the eighties when Cyndi was just as popular as Madonna.

They both appeared at Live Aid together, have taken many photographs together, and have spoken several times at award shows and the like. The dramatic hair, extreme makeup, and fetish gear was worn by Siouxsie years before these ladies...she was the female face of British punk, which was a HUGE influence on American New Wave.
