  • this song could go one for ever ...

  • The best Jeff Beck videos ever!

  • @Bonaholic1 totally agree, eventhough his todays stuff is unmatched from the technical point of view - these are my favorites right now

  • Love the rawness of this version. The fuzz-tone feedback is great.

  • The mighty Cozy Powell...

  • The Jeff Beck Group is one of my favorite periods on the Beck time line. What a band.

  • HE MAKES LULU SOUND GOOD

  • Where can i get the full video, would be nice to have a copy.

  • @linald - I agree - my mistake, as admitted elsewhere on here. Definitely Max Middleton.

  • That's Cozy on drums and Bobby Tench on vocals (later contributed guitar/vocals with Chapman/Whitney in the Streetwalkers - a post-Family band worth checking out if you haven't heard them). Piano is the late great Tony Ashton (Ashton,Gardener, Dyke, Family and Paice, Ashton & Lord). I love this but I agree with other posts - Nazareth nailed this song and made it their own. Sometimes less is more!

  • @MrLidd63 Max Middleton on keyboards

  • Everybody Bow !!!

  • Beck is Immortal !!!

  • What year was this ???I know it's early 70's Who's the drummer...It's ain't Aynsley Dunbar ( who was with Zappa at the time ) or Cozy Powell...

  • @hydraIX I think it is Cozy. I'd know for sure if he kept his head still for long enough in the close-ups :-). Certainly he was in the Jeff Beck Group around this time.

  • @Ruskellnw1 It is Cozy:)

  • Nazareth did this song so much better.

  • fabuleux!!!!!!!!!

  • He died in a car crash in 1998...where have you been ???

  • Cozy Powel is SO sporty!

  • not the same wo stewart

  • On the drums, the incredible..MR COZY POWELL..R I P .

  • @QueenReigns1 Ah, shame. didn'tknow he died. Sterling gentleman of the skins

  • The original was better methinks.

  • @RedRiverDave No one cares, expert.

  • The bass player is fantastic as well.

  • @ckelley63 Is he playing Morning Dew or Whipping Post?

  • @BillyMacQ This is their excellent version of Morning Dew. Enjoy!!!

  • @BillyMacQ I can see why you got the allman brothers' 'whipping post' as the riff at 1.20 is similar.

  • Is it me or is it shades of women from Tokyo in the beginning intro. Gotta love Cozy!!!

  • Fantastic Video !!

  • with both guitar and drum legend in place fairly good, the robert plant version sends me to sleep, however the nazareth version is far the best version in my opinion.

  • is this a promo vid or cut from a concert with the effects and backdrops added in?

  • God has come to this video!

  • Rock drumming before it all became groove/fusion drumming!

  • @dantean i thought it was just me that had noticed that!

  • @eunicefinger Sad, isn't it?! Don't get me wrong--Billy Cobham IS a genius, and James Brown's drum alum were all fucking amazingly great drummers (ditto Frank Zappa's stickmen) but rock drumming's different--neither better nor worse, but its own style with its own agenda and purpose--and the TechniqueMeisters do not and will not ever get that. And even when they seem to, they typically have no guts, no soul and nothing to say (V Colaiuta in any 4/4 blues or rock setting, for example). Rant over.

  • Great version! Tench takes on Stewart and holds up, no doubt about it!

And the band... come on. It's too good.

  • Sometimes I think Jeff Beck is able to do anything with the guitar - even to play it!

  • What do kids listen to stoned these days? I can't imagine anything current as being one tenth as enjoyable as this or any of the music of the times.

  • @cranie4....Relative to when this stuff came out, I am a kid! And this is what I listen to stoned these days, for the reason you mentioned! Hahaha...but especially Blow by Blow, listening to that album stoned is beyond enjoyable, one might say orgasmic, hahahaha.

  • @wildkofta Good for you! Keep it going and tell your friends ;)

    We hafta keep rock alive.

  • What is the source of these videos? Awesome!!!!

  • Bob Tench, always liked his vocals with Beck. I think he played guitar for streetwalkers. He's a pretty good guitarist to.

  • What the f**K?! Where did these come from? Been watching YouTube for years and I'm only seeing these now? Hot damn--hot shit!!

  • One of the best bands ever! EVER!

  • Jeffもかっこいいが、

    Cozyもすばらし!

  • Cozy Powell was a monster drummer! R I P.

  • @nid333 Clive Chaman

  • Hey nid333 FYI

    Vocals Bob Tench

    Bass Clive Chaman

    Drums Cozy Powell

    Keyboard Max Middleton

    Guitar The Beck

The Mk2 Jeff Beck Group and the best lineup . from the albums

"Jeff Beck Group" (72) and "Rough and Ready" (71)

  • I like Jeffs cover of this the best with Rod

    The Deads a close 2nd.

  • UPありがとうございます。

    この頃のコージーは、ツーバスドラの上に小さなシンバルと

    カウベルをセットしていたのを懐かしく思い出しました。

    今見ても全然古くない演奏です。

  • I wonder if Cozy could have gotten the hat any farther away from him with it still being functional? Is it the drummer equivalent of say Page's low strung guitar? :")

  • @UriahNate Hehe Probably

  • This series of the Jeff Beck Group uploaded by Gyozateisyoku is one of my favorites on Youtube. Brings back great memories of the J.B group and it's video I didn't see back in the 1970's. Every member of this group excels in their field!

  • who´s the singer???....

  • @imbeatles bob tench

  • Because 11 is just a little louder...see?

  • Well why don't you just make 10 the loudest?

  • Look...the volume goes to 11. 11 is louder than 10.

  • The tune is fantastic and so is legend Jeff....

  • Thank You for posting..

    Absolutely magic stuff.

  • What a rare find. Cozy was truly a fine drummer.

  • man these videos rock!!!!!!!

  • cozy powell a great drummer

  • According to "Jeff's Book" this was taped in Germany on March 25,1972. Thanks for posting all these Beat Club songs.

  • Yes ! Saw them in August of 72 --- Berkeley CA. Please post ice Cream Cakes !!

  • Wow...thanks for these great Jeff Beck videos!!! Where the heck did you get them???

  • I really appreciate you posting these videos...

I have never seen this group live--I have both albums and love them!

This was like Christmas in April for me.
