@walterwolseley I can see kinda where you might think some of the guitar intro sounds similar, but that's about it. Even so, if it was a reference it would be the other way around. The Artist in the Ambulance album came out in 2003. Haste the Day's album "Burning Bridges" came out in 2004.
so many people take thrice just as music. I hold them high above my head as insporation for the next generation of rock. Someday i will be there!!!!!1
One of the few bands that I have followed all throughout their career. I used to cover their songs in my middle/high school band, now I'm out of college and I use some of their songs as teaching tools when I teach kids guitar. I'll never stop loving this music.
Thrice is still one of the greatest bands. I remember listening to this CD so much as a teen. They've grown so much, but this stuff still holds up well.
Damn man. I used to listen to this everyday when I was in 2nd - 5th grade. I totally forgott about it until I just stumbled upon this album in iTunes today.
This song is about how the moon is ACTUALLY killing us. Please start researching and understanding, check the vid. watch?v=4KRei25AObs&feature=related
@fashnek You are an idiot, If you don't like the music don't listen to it... more so don't comment on it. Just because you think it is for kids doesn't mean that other people don't take more from it than you.
@theflamingsword516 I didn't say anything bad about the song or kids. You're the one trying to throw around insults on the Internet. Try not to get provoked so easily.
@fashnek Yeah you're right sorry bout jumping the gun on that one must have just been in a bad mood when I posted that. Hope theres no hard feelings, I normally don't get worked up like that.
@MrHellsservant F*** you for your ignorance. i like Eminem, Black Sheep, RUN DMC, and Beastie Boys. But that doesn't mean I don't like bands like this, Papa Roach, Rise Against, P.O.D., R.A.T.M., and Limkon Park. Every song, not genre, has a different purpose, just like literature has tone, understand it before you shoot it down. and never, say all of one race or genre is the same. you don't like "nigger" music? check out Kenji by Fort Minor, then say somthin. BTW I'm white.
lol dont listen to him. hes ignorant. only a dumb person would say something like that. "good" music can be found in just about any genre. no matter the skin color of the person.
dude wow this album was amazing. Just listened to it in its entirety. Vhiessu had a greater range but this had by far greater melodies. TAI was pure genius though. Beggars returned to Vhiessu's roots of making random music with bad melodies.
@slayer501st True that, Vheissu was their best album... but this new album will be amazing i think. Influenced by BOTCH?!?!?! Its gonna be heavy as crap, yet also really subdued at points.
It amazes me how different Thrice was in the days of AITA compared to Beggars...doesn't matter, every album Thrice makes is awesome, case-in-point, this song.
@2323jgrant i'm not a fan of it. just a few songs that are worth listening to. but they carry them out and its annoying. O God, The Aftermath is by far my favorite from them.
@foolofremorse my take is that it's a metaphor of questioning authority in the interest of seeking truth...and in the world we live in, what ultimately happens when you challenge or question authority, namely the government. basically i think its summed up right here... "if you want to call our bluff, get in line and wait your turn(go ahead and try to question what we say is the truth)...and watch the witches burn(and see what happens next)"
@jayseize1 yeah i definately hear that it sounds to me that he is talking about living in a corrupt world where the corruption is something that is totally kept out of the awareness of the average citizen or general public or at least is not something that is talked about often because it is not a pleasureable distraction like the entertainment culture. i feel like Dustin writes alot of lyrics with a similar perspective..
@mattlambrecht1 yea i honestly think his whole perspective comes from seeking truth...and not taking things for face value. its sad that even though there are those smart enough to realize we're living in the 'matrix', but are at the same time, helpless to do anything about it. this is the world we live in, my friend. anyone who is reading this comment, check out zeitgeist the movie if you haven't already.
@jayseize1 i agree. ive seen zeitgeist.. im so far down the damn rabbit hole im not sure if that movie is a disinfo for the corrupted occultist orders to attack christianity for the new world order or if that is the actual origin of jesus.. i know it is the basis of the gnostic solar mysteries, but im not so sure jesus was always a gnostic sun god until council of nicaea... lol it gets very confusing as you research more and more there are very conflicting conclusions that you can draw
@xaxoxaxi my take is that it's a metaphor of questioning authority in the interest of seeking truth...and in the world we live in, what ultimately happens when you challenge or question authority, namely the government. basically i think its summed up right here...
