"Get my bag....DO IT!!" lol Ive said this alot over these message boards but i do wish near the end (Spesh near the shane eps) they had made joan a type of anti hero. Making her more of a good character who strays onto the darkside.I could see maybe a jock stewart type of screw coming into wentworth 20x worse than joan ever was.. and her having to team up with the prisoners to help get him out.It could ended with joan having to set her self up as well as the other screw just to get him out.
This clip gives a wonderful insight into what Joan Ferguson would be like doing other jobs apart from being a prison officer. I would have liked to see her be a teacher or somwthing like that.
In prisoners final year towards the end of the series She ends up working at a security firm run by ex inmate Willie Beecham before conning the "minister" into giving her old job back at Wentworth
Im also buying the dvds like any true prisoner fan would be Im up to ep 460 the one where Bobby looses the baby Cass attacks Dennis Cruikshank and Reb (Lynn Scully) Keane bashes Phyliss Hunts brain in
No Im buying them a volume at a time Im actually up to volume 32 episodes 497-512
Im currently watching Bev Bakers reign of terror and to think that woman changed her name to Dorothy Burke and became principal of Erinsborough high school
I clicked onto your profile and it said you were in england so you guys must be ahead of us here in australia because volumes 25 and 26 are getting released here on monday 18th so they must be coming from england and not australia which i didnt know about
Well you could hardly call the Smith/Doyle "riot" an actual riot I mean it took place in one room and Bill Jackson only got stabbed because Crissie Latham had the hots for him and she was rejected by him.
This scene shows not only the comedic possibilities of the formidable Joan "The Freak" Ferguson, but this scene could also be a source of a comedic spin-off with Maggie reprising Joan, working at a restaurant and dealing with snide customers like that woman. What a possibility, eh?
i love how joan scares the manager to get her bag. also i can't help think that joan's evil would have been better served on rude customers like her than on prisoners. haha great clip
Hilarious!!

Joan was class. I love the way she dealt with that annoying customer! The other table were practically giving her the thumbs up.
Joan is a legend and an inspiration to us all.

@GeorgeASFTHM She would make a good teacher. No nonsense type, but approachable with a good sense of humour as well.

You know, that could well be a perfect spin-off vehicle for Joan Ferguson, after getting out of prison, being a manager for a restaurant!
AlbieGray 3 years ago
Good on you, Joan.
All customers of that caliber should be treated that way.
